This place used to be great, but the good chef that worked there either left or they fired him because the portions and quality have gone the way of rancheritos. Burritos are now half the size they were and the taste is as bland as it could possibly be. Also, the staff there especially at the drive thru have become rude and less than accommodating. If you go inside you have access to as much salsa and veggies as you want. Not so if you are in a car. They recently have limited salsas to one green and one red for an entire burrito or a plate! I went through the drive-thru around 7am... I couldn't hear a thing through the speaker and had to repeat my order at the window. One of the best Mexican places in the state. Whenever we're in the valley we absolutely make sure to stop by! All of their burritos are amazing, but the Ranchero burrito is heaven on earth. Be sure to get an order of rolled tacos to share because they are great also. Be careful ordering jalapeños on anything because they are some of the hottest jalapeños I've ever had. read more

We go here at least once a week. Carne Asada fries are as good as it gets. Plenty of food so I always get the sour cream and guac on the side so i can reheat them the next day. This 24 hour Mexican food joint is a godsend to us late nighters with a big appetite. They offer huge portions of fantastically greasy Mexican food which is often just what I need. And the menu is quite large with so many options. I usually just pick a random combo number because no matter what I get here I am happy. Sure its not the nicest cleanest place, but it is a divey 24 hour Mexican joint.. it's not supposed to be immaculate. Here last night for the first time, and impressed. An old building on a corner, it could use some updating. But, if you're not an ambiance snob and just want some good Mexican food from very friendly staff at good prices in incredibly fast time....this is the place! Clean restrooms are always big in my book, and they are clean. I had a fish taco combo plate. Hubby had the chip, cheese, guac, and salsa plate. He really enjoyed it. If you're looking for super authentic Mexican food, this is not it. If you're looking for something tasty, then they can certainly help. We've tried many Mexican spots around the city and this one is one of our favorites. I can't say it's been perfect every time and they have had some missteps in overcooking the meat once or giving us a wrong order which they corrected, but overall we enjoy what we eat. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN! I paid with a $20 and they gave me change for a $10. When I pointed this out they argued with me and wouldn't give me the correct change. Can't tell you how many times they've completely forgotten half my order, so I've got to re-hand them my card and charge it again at the window. And if you order a beverage, plan on it being a Coke. Just got through my order which included a Carne Asada Taco and a Bean & Cheese burrito. Normally this place is anywhere between edible and not too bad. Tonight however was an epic fail. Here's why: Carne Asada Taco The corn tortillas were chewy and tasted pretty stale. The taco was drenched in Guacamole and the carne didn't have a nice sear on it. Taco really sucked (rhymes with calls) tonight. Bean and Cheese Burrito Whoever rolled this burrito should exercise a bit more care and patience. Too much bean and cheese that couldn't be rolled into the tortilla and the cheese wasn't even melted and the burrito was kinda luke warm. Had the C team working tonight or something. I'll go back when I see normal team again, but tonight sucked. UPDATE Did it to myself again. I'm paying for my late night decision to this place because what I ate is now coming out of both ends! Great food. I've had lots of different tacos here and like them all. I think carne asada are the best. I'm kind of too snobby for rolled tacos mostly these days, but Gualberto's knows how to make them super tasty. Lots of menu items and new things to try here. Nice people run the place. It's a low roofed building that looks almost dodgy, but it's clean inside and has lots of seating. The front of the restaurant gets pretty hot in the summer, sit around the side. Good prices.
