The wife and I like to split, so it was a really good portion size. Left full. Cocktails were pretty good too. They had the classics, but also unique ones I've never had before which was a treat. Great atmosphere. Service was friendly. Prices were outrageous!!! Felt like I should be eating at a Michelin star or celebrity restaurant for the cost, but I guess that's how it is at a lot of restaurants these days. SUCH a fun place. Absolutely delicious. We went two weekends in a row because we loved it that much. To start, I could eat their chips and salsa as a meal and be so happy. The steak tacos and fish tacos are my favorite. The rice and beans??? I could eat everyday for the rest of my life. The calamari and ceviche appetizers were also deliciousss. Lots of celebrations! Our server was great and attentive, she checked on our table frequently. Our favorites were the appetizers: Tuna tartare and Shrimp ceviche. The tuna tartare reminds me of the Hawaiian shoyu tuna poke. The fish tacos were good, and the batter on the fish was light and airy. The quesadillas and enchilada were great as well. Looking for a great date night restaurant? Las Botellas is it. The ambiance is romantic and elevated, the food is absolutely delicious, and the entertainment is unique and mesmerizing The menu is a bit pricey. Some of the items are fairly priced, but a lot of them are not. (We got suckered into the $20 table side guacamole...it's fun to watch but the guacamole itself isn't anything special.) However, there wasn't a s single thing I didn't like, so it was still money well spent. The service wasn't bad, but it also wasn't ideal. Our waiter kept trying to upsell higher priced menu items and the other wait staff seemed to be a bit frazzled at times. If you want to treat yourself to a fun night out, Las Botellas is your place. Ever since Las Botellas opened at MVV, it's been on my must-try list. Me and a group of friends came here for brunch around noon on a Sunday and to our surprise, it wasn't busy at all. I'm glad because we were able to take the time we wanted to enjoy our food and catch up. Some of my party did show up late and the wonderful servers and front desk employee were more than happy to accommodate us since they weren't busy. The interior is gorgeous and they have a patio area to the side that is also really nice! I can imagine it would be beautiful to dine outside in the spring and fall. They also have an area inside where they can seat a large party. It almost looks like a private glass room. Our server Shelby was a doll. She was patient, answered our questions on what she recommended, and was just all-around awesome. She even helped us split our birthday girl's check 4 different ways for us, which I feel like is an above and beyond request sometimes. I ordered the Churro Bites for the table and the girls and I loved it. They were the perfect little appetizer. Another appetizer I was thoroughly surprised by was the House Guacamole! I'm not a huge guac girly, but this was very good. It was creamy and flavored very well. For my entree, I ordered the Carne Asada Steak & Eggs, I'm not that big on sweets for brunch. I asked for the carne asada to be cooked to medium rare, but it looked a little rare. That is nothing I would complain about though because it was still delicious either way. The eggs were cooked perfectly for sunny side up. I think the potatoes could be seasoned a little better, but overall the dish was fine. I enjoyed it! So that was disappointing. She took orders pretty slowly. Also, there is a bday celebration like every 5 mins. It was fun but kind of crazy how many people were there for bdays. If you want them to bring the big Las Vegas sign out you have to buy a bottle of wine or champagne or do a round of shots. They don't have any creative shots though - just straight liquor. Also, they let you pick a song but mine didn't get played when they brought the sign out. Our waitress was a bit disorganized. We did get one dessert on the house though because we ordered it and she forgot to ring it in. So we had to remind her and at that point our group was already leaving and had paid their tabs. Food was really good. We had the salsa flight, hamachi crudo, filet, sea bass, & tres leche cake. The hamachi was delicious, but portion, especially considering price, doesn't make it worth it. If one or other was better, I would order it again. The filet was perfectly cooked and really good. I will say, it was much better once dipped in some of the leftover salsa verde from our appetizer! My husband got the sea bass, mostly because it was listed as a house fave. Surprisingly, it's the first sea bass we've disliked. Neither of us cared for it and we didn't even finish it. The tres leche was good, satisfied the craving, but I have had better. It was a little too dry on the top for a 3 milk cake. Price is the big part here. It took us about 2 weeks in order to get a reservation, and it was after the performances so we didn't get to see much except one entertainer. We were seated right away at our 9:15PM reservation. First, the inside of the restaurant was definitely beautiful with music all around playing so it made it cool environment. We started off with our drink orders, it actually took about 45 minutes for our drinks to come out and we waited a while. Beautiful drinks, mine came out in a smoky box and the smoky flavor overpowered the taste of my drink. We started with queso and calamari for the appetizer and it came out in less than 5 minutes of ordering, so it made me think it was already pre made. It was interesting the queso came with a side of soft tortilla rather than chips because it made it too heavy to eat and got cold and hard quick. The calamari was okay, honestly it ate more batter than I did the calamari. Our dishes was the wagyu burger, and enchiladas. The wagyu burger came with like a cheese stuffed portabello mushroom so it was pretty heavy, but decent! The enchiladas definitely could of been kicked up a notch. I had made these plans at least three weeks in advance and even emailed and called the location multiple times. Once the party arrived, they tried to sit us at an incorrect table with only eight chairs, although we had reserved 12. The ladies who worked the front desk seemed so confused about the whole ordeal until I plainly explained it. I confirmed it was for birthday with the ladies at the front desk. If you spend over $50 worth of drinks, I was told that the birthday sign is included for free with a complementary dessert. However, I also offered to pay for that alone so that we can make sure everything was great. We received the check and still not had any request that was made to celebrate the birthday. I told them the name of the guest and they brought out the sign, It was absolutely the incorrect name, not at all what I had put in the reservation or told the waiter. To make light of it we all just left and called the guest the wrong name all night. Terrible for the birthday guest, I apologized all night. When they originally gave me my cocktail, the waiter asked if he could take it back because they had forgot to put the alcohol and the drink. That's why the level was so low. I am not sure if the waiter was overwhelmed or had too many tables at night I'm not writing to bash him in any way. The food was only OK in my opinion. It was hardly any flavor. I think they focus more on the appearance of the location rather than putting the money into everything else that goes on. There was no special show with fire on a Friday night from 7-9:30. Most of the menu is very simple but high quality ingredients. But nothing creative. You can find the same menu at many restaurants across Utah for much less money. The tortillas are store bought. ( I asked the server) For a place claiming to be on the higher end, this is disappointing. The salsa is also lacking in salt/flavor and also tastes store bought. I had the carne asada plate and the meat was quite good tho, well cooked and seasoned/ tender. My wife had the birria tacos and they weren't anything special, you're probably better off going to Red Taco for that and for the fraction of the price. It's a dope place if you wanna impress friends and family but not if your family is Mexican, if you grew up in Utah this place will be fire for you and probably the best Mexican food you will ever have. So to start, the place is fun we decided to sit outside and enjoyed the scenery and weather. Service is fine nothing amazing. Breakfast burrito was good (got the carne asada) glad there was a lot of meat - that was generous of them but barely any egg, not complaining though I'd personally rather have more carne ;) Also tried the Birria tacos. Birria and consume is better at other taco places but this is good nonetheless. While the French toast on the other hand... AMAZING. I'm not a sweets person but it was so creamy and slightly crisp with a blueberry puree and fresh cream. Insane! Need this everyday. This is pretty close to being a great place. The music is fun, the food was okay, but I feel like they don't have an actual identity. Like is it a club or a restaurant? Maybe move some tables and encourage dancing and stay open a little later if you're gonna blast dance music all night? Or up the ante on the food and make it a truly amazing dining experience. It took awhile to get a reservation-lots of other people felt the way I did and wanted to be there too. The evening of our reservation, we arrived and were seated about 15 minutes after our reserved time. We, along with another party, awkwardly stood in the front entrance area waiting for a table. There might have been somewhere else to wait, but we were not pointed to go there. A few things I observed about this place: * Everyone-staff and guests-appear to have been hand selected from a casting call. This isn't the place to wear a t-shirt and jeans. Dress up. * It's LOUD. Don't come expecting to have a conversation with your friends unless you can speak above the music and chatter. * The food is fancy and plated well, although not the tastiest I've ever had. It was made for the pictures first, mouth second. * It's pricey. I don't mind paying a lot for a good meal, but I felt that it might be a little on the high end. Three of us got fish tacos and one got a burger. We also had two sides to share with the group. Everyone drank water. The bill was $145 before tip. * The bill can be paid at the table using Apple Pay. Sadly, mine was not setup properly (my bad) so the server took my card the old fashioned way. So, yeah, it's a vibe in itself. This isn't a place to come to just fill your belly. It's a whole experience-better suited to the hip and happening crowd, not the geriatric or minor crowd for sure.
