Really solid spot in SoJo! I can't think of any negatives, so 5 stars it is. They have a much more extensive menu than tacos. Mulitas, Vampiros, Quesadillas, Bowls etc. with your standard protein choices for Tijuana style. Including lengua and cabeza is always a good sign, and double bonus, they also offer shrimp and fish! Their salad bar had at least 6, maybe more different salsa options, radishes, pepinos, the whole works. Though I didn't try them, they had a good selection of aguas frescas as well. I saw the cashier ladling up horchata for the folks in front me and it looked *creamy*. Their prices were very fair. Pretty standard for tacos to be $3-$4 a piece now. Not a bad taco place Ambience: it's in its own strip mall with plenty of parking. There's also plenty of tables and the space is bright and airy. Service: you order at the front and then they deliver you the food. There is a little salsa bar with a variety of options. Food: I got the Carne Asada fries and abobada tacos. Portions were pretty hefty. The fries were crispy, although some of the fries under the portion with more meat and toppings were a bit cold and soft. The tacos had plenty of guacamole on it however, it made it hard to taste the flavor of the actual meat. Overall, not bad tacos, but also not the best. I had tacos with Carne, pollo, and pescado. All were good. I enjoyed them. Good flavor. Sorry so short, not much else to add. Not exciting enough for five stars. Give them a try, I think you'll like it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. Come to find out just three weeks ago. Fresh Amd new. Let's check them out... Sunday afternoon and the place is slammed. All 7 tables are taken. Let's goooo! I got my three tacos to go... carne asada, pollo asado and la lengua ... when I arrived there was one couple standing and waiting and now there are four orders standing/waitng and looks like four tables waiting. Looks like everyone got here all at once...40 was just called. I'm 45. Nice young lady came by to check on the first standing couple. Big smile, Looks like they are actively working on the backlog. The business is tough for new restaurants. Even the big ones in Vegas had soft openings to work out the kinks. It's a dance and It will come. Smells so good in here. The food looks great. I finally got a chance to try Tacos 1905 and it absolutely did not disappoint! We will definitely be back to try more of the menu as I only tried the tacos this time. The Adobada, Pescado and Pollo Asado were very flavorful and perfectly cooked! Always love a fresh salsa bar and we were told the salsas are made fresh everyday. Great salsa choices, cilantro, onions and this was the first time that I've seen freshly sliced cucumbers. The staff were very friendly! The manager/owner came out and talked to us after we had eaten which was very nice as well! Gave us a great chance to interact and ask a few questions about the restaurant! Tacos 1905 was OK. I think the atmosphere is really cool. There's limited seating so it's always been crowded and we have been there. I thought their quesadilla was better than the tacos. Really great Mexican place for good quality food. I got the fries with 1/2 al pastor and 1/2 carne asada. I wouldn't say the meat is was the best I've had but the fries were perfectly fried and hot a great crisp to it. The combination of the guacamole, onions, cilantro, sour cream, cheese, and salsa were a medley in my mouth. I was highly impressed with their French fry quality as it created a great base for the toppings. They allow you to try their Agua Frescas and we decided on their cucumber lime one. It was refreshing and very thirst quenching. We got our order to go but not without getting a lot of their fresh salsas at the salsa bar. My husband got the quesadilla and two tacos and said it was better than Tacos Lopez. We enjoyed this place and will definitely get it again when we are craving Mexican food. read more

The food was good but nothing spectacular. We ordered a variety of what they offer so we could try everything and nothing popped put. The chicken was a bit dry but the pork, steak, and beef tongue was good. We ended up talking about their sauces/salsas more than the food. The ambiance was alright. Nothing to complain about there. The service was great. The two ladies at the front were friendly and very helpful and the gentleman in the back were friendly too. Maybe a bigger portion wouldve been nice or slightly cheaper tacos. I've been wanting to try this place and today I finally got a chance to stop by. I'll be honest it was not that great. I tried the carne asada and adobada and man, they were so bland that the tortilla flavor overpowered everything else even the salsa. The place is nice and clean, the staff is super friendly, the tacos were ready before I had a chance to sit down. What a shame. I'm not going to discourage anyone from trying this place out because everyone's taste is different. Please try them out for yourself and decide. For me the only thing that was really great was the fresh Tamarind water, although they could use a little bit less sugar it was the best thing overall. Some may say that it's expensive for just tacos but their prices are about the same of other taco places in the area. For 5 tacos and a fresh tamarind water total was $23. Will I return? Yes. It's hard to find a place that uses actual tamarind, most places use the syrup or powder stuff. I will also like to try other meats and the other menu items, a lot can change and as a new business I'm hoping they don't take these reviews as a personal attacks but rather as good feedback they can use to improve upon. read more

3 Star Rating for being the latest THIRST TRAP taqueria in Utah. If you know how authentic tacos al pastor are served, you know they are fired to a sizzle while on the trompo, then thinly sliced directly on to a corn tortilla held in the other hand, not cut and stored/cooked on the plancha(griddle) no matter how big the line of customers is. When I stopped by, we were the only customers and I was informed their Al pastor tacos were served the proper way. They were not, they were scooped up from a pile of pre-cut meat despite an illustration on the wall and a looped video on the television screen overhead depicting the correct form. Really wanted this place to be amazing. It smells amazing(carbón) when you walk in the door. Staff is very friendly. Some of the salsas were pretty good. The al pastor meat had a pretty heavy sweet cinnamon taste and no crisp. Tortillas were great though and the carne asada was ok. Again, the smell of meat cooking over carbón brought back memories. For some context I grew up in Chula Juana (Chula Vista, CA) and also lived in Mexico City for several years. The PSA aside, I hope 1905 does well. They are definitely better than most tacos shops in Utah, the interior has a great aesthetic and I was initially excited about the prospect of more locations open up. read more

We unfortunately found mold on the tortillas of our tacos. When we went to management about it, they informed us the tortilla stains green when cabbage sits on it... you can see the photos below. Purple cabbage doesn't bleed green? Managment was certain it was the cabbage and stated it happened the day before.
