4 Al Pastor Tacos with Drink
Emeri H.

I was craving tacos really bad! We were originally planning to go to Tacos Lopez, but it was super super busy, so we decided to try Mexiquense instead because it was nearby! It was a great choice! It was not busy at all when I went in. I could see how the parking has the potential to be a nightmare because it's very limited. The workers I interacted with were nice and they were efficient in preparing my order quickly. Plenty of sauces and limes available for self-serve. My Al pastor tacos were perfect! The pineapple compliments the meat so well! I would come again sometime, but it is a bit more expensive than other taco places.

Very pleased with my experience here ! The food was amazing ! Service was great! Me and my family enjoyed our time. I will be coming back. The food was great. The elote didn't come in a cup but they made an exception for me :)

Carne Asada Burrito

This place has a pretty good selection of Mexican food, both in terms of number of dishes and number of meats available--pastor, carnitas, chicken, carne asada, and more are all options for your dish. Though the meat was a little over-cooked, the flavor was good, and made even better by the salsa bar, which has four salsas of varying levels of spiciness. El Mexiquense is a solid choice for some tacos, and I'd certainly go back, but it also isn't a top choice for me.

Our family is 10 members. We ordered: birria taco, molcajete, and family platter. The molcajete comes with 2 drinks (aguas frescas) and family platter come w/2 liter drink. The Food, service and place bathroom were so clean. Thank you for a good delicious food. I give a 5 stars. So delicious. Proteins and veggies.

Sadly, I did not like it here:( Their service was nice, and the elote I purchased was delicious! However, that's where my satisfaction ended:/ I ordered a steak quesadilla with a side of rice & beans, and even though the rice & beans weren't bad, the quesadilla was extremely bland. The steak, which should have been the star of the plate, had absolutely no flavor to it, and the cheese and tortilla were flavorless as well. As for my guacamole, the lime overpowered the taste of the avocado so much, that I couldn't even eat more than 2 bites. My hubby said that the location in Lehi is really good, though, so maybe we just came on an off day? (The tables were dirty, too... boo!)

a basket of chips and salsa

I was looking forward to this new Mexican restaurant (fast food) to open. When I fist walked in I noticed how big the dining area was with lots of seating, lots of bright sunlight coming through the Windows. Menu is overhead the cash register, and is limited in selections with pictures of food. Several TV's playing while Mexican music was playing overhead. I ordered their smothered burrito for $8.99 but for some reason I was charged $10.99. After paying for my burrito I was handed a small paper bag with about a cup full of chips with two different types of salsa. (Green, Pico) When my burrito was brought to my table I was shocked for a couple of reasons. My first thoughts were. 1. How huge the burrito was 2. The cheese wasn't melted. 3. It didn't look like the hundreds of smothered Burritos I've eaten in the past. The cashier said be careful the plate is hot. Umm ok the cheese isn't melted but if you say it's hot I'll believe you. It wasn't until I took a taste of my food that I knew my food was cold. If my food is cold, then how is the plate hot? I touched the plate, it wasn't hot which meant the food was just placed on the plate, and it didn't go in the oven. I'm pretty sure it was microwaved as the plate was made out of a plastic material that would have melted if put in a real oven There was very little Chili Verde sauce, and what there was came off with the cheese when I scraped the cheese off. One lonely plastic fork is all you get for utensils. I had to tear the burrito apart in order to eat it without a knife. That is when I saw what was inside. Lots of shredded pork, which was very dry. A little bit of rice. Beans were supposed to be included, but I didn't see any. I tried the chips. (I Love my chips and salsa) but I couldn't even eat these. I don't even know how to describe them. Dry, greasy, thick. Plus they don't give you enough salsa for your chips. Especially if you are like me, you like to double dip your chips in really good salsa. I know, I know, I know what your thinking. If the chips and salsa are tasty I could eat a whole bag by myself, which is not the case here. I wasn't impressed to give any other food item a chance I'm going to stick to my favorite Mexican restaurant where they are consistently good. *I took a picture of the inside of the burrito, but decided against posting it. You will have to decide for yourself if you want to try it or not.

Hard old tortilla fortachón burrito.

I should of drive a little farther to down town Midvale and had a burrito from tacos el Cuñado. $12 for a small and hard burn tortilla burrito. What a disgrace for a Mexican food (if you can called that) salsas; bad and old. (When you add tomato's to a salsa make sure you rotate or make small batches of it) sour salsa. I had to add some cholula yo make it better. I should of known; this place is always empty at night. I'm sorry; but, I don't mind paying $20 for a burro; but, please make sure it's a burro. I hope you guys made some serious change or you will be out of business. Server was great l, cashier was very attentive. Place was very clean. Other than that, I will never come back. Just drive to the 3rd light and get some street real Mexican food.

Pretty forgettable. Like I am having a difficult time reaching the character count. Lol a nice pro I guess was how quiet it was and the salsa bar but most of their salsas tasted the same anyway.

Torta pastor

Very good food. The workers were very friendly and always attentive, specially the cashier. Very clean bathrooms also.

What drew me into this place was the Al Pastor next to their name. Naturally I would have to order the Al Pastor plate and I was left disappointed. The beans were too salty for my liking, the rice was bland and the Al pastor was dry. Comparably to other Al pastor tacos I have eaten in Utah, this sits at the bottom due to the flavor and quality. Didn't seem like it was cooked on a vertical rotisserie because the meat was cubed and not thinly sliced. I also got the Tripa tacos and they were also hard and dry, it left the roof of my mouth sore... similarly to eating captain crunch. Tripa should be crispy, but not that crispy. (Example is a little dramatic, but the only thing I can think of in comparison) On a positive note, the Lengua taco was good and they have really tasty salsa with good spice levels Environment: Plenty of seating and Clean

This place has gone down hill fast. No chips and meat like jerky. Hope they figure it out

The bag of chips and salsa (I had eaten quite a few chips, so they give you more than pictured)

This place is great! My hubby had been to the other location and wanted to give this one a try, as it's really close to our house. I looked at the menu before hand and decided to try a sope with chicken. It was delicious! The chicken was tender, flavorful, and there was a few pieces in every bite. The masa had a great texture, it was thick and held up with the toppings and refried beans. The ratio was perfect! Lots of fresh lettuce and sour cream on top. I will get this again for sure! Hubby got the al pastor tacos plate. He always gets this dish at any Mexican restaurant. He liked that the pineapple was more substantial (thick sliced) and he said the rice and beans were good, just pretty standard. I was able to snap a picture before he inhaled it, so lucky you! The chips were a great surprise! A small bag (think size of a small fry, or about a cup) with 3 different salsas. They were crispy, good amount of salt and tasted very fresh! I usually can take or leave the chips, but I helped myself while I was snapping pics (that's why the bag is not quite full). I tend to eat a smaller amount for meals (kids meals are plenty for me!) so this sope was perfectly filling, and I think it was 3.99! I thought about adding some Mexican corn to my order, maybe next time. This will become a regular place for us, fast, great quality, and who wants to cook when it's 100 outside!?

Ripped box and fossilized choriqueso
Autumn M.

Customer service here is always a 10 ! However the quality of the food is 2! This is my second time here , first time I wasn't to fond of this place . So I decided to give it a try again and unfortunately it has not improved! I ordered to go and ordered the choriqueso this is chips with melted cheese and chorizo on the side. Chile relleno plate and two shrimp tacos. The choriqueso had to have been a day old or at least a couple hours old sitting under the warner. The cheese at this point was non existent and the chorizo was fossilized into the chips. The container top was torn off , im assuming it melted being under a warmer for hours. They tore off the original top and just placed the bottom in another to go box . The beans were crusted and had a nice crunchy texture! The Chile rellenos were the toughest, chewiest chiles I have ever eaten! They were so tough I needed a steak knife to cut them with! The shrimp tacos probably had a cup of mayo on each one . The creamy chipotle sauce they use is not made correctly as the mayo was overwhelming. It seems as if the food is pre-made then warmed up as ordered. It definitely was not fresh nor made with care. Unfortunately unless there's new management , owners or changes made I will not be going back or suggesting this place to anyone. The employees are very friendly but the food is anything but desirable!

If you enjoy Colorado Mexican Food/TexMex, I wouldn't say you'll like this place. The green chili was terrible and really lacked flavor.

The $1.99 taco special is totally worth it. The tacos are full of flavor. Their homemade salsa is the best. I recommend this place.

Good food and good service. We never have to wait too long either. Drinks are good but can be a bit pricey.

This awesome Taco Truck has been posted up in the parking lot connected to Starbucks across the…read morestreet from Reams for a while now. They are within walking distance of my house and I couldn't be more thrilled. I have only ordered the standard tacos, like Pollo, Asada and Al Pastor, but they have all been really good. I typically get four of them and that's plenty to satisfy my large appetite. They are currently charging $2 for the basic meats, $2.50 for things like Lengua, Cabeza and two more that I can't remember, then $3 for shrimp. They also offer Quesadillas, Burritos, Tortas, etc.. But I haven't tried any of that. There have always been the same two guys there and they are always friendly, efficient and accommodating. They offer some folding chairs next to some shady trees if you're planning to eat there. They also have small sauce cups, baggies and forks if you're taking the tacos to go. In the cooler there have always been 4 types of salsa, a deep red roasted looking one, a red one that you can see some seeds and seasonings in, a creamy green one and a tomatillo salsa. They have cilantro and onion mixed together, cilantro onion and tomato mixed together, shredded cabbage, limes, and pickled carrots onions and jalapeno. That super red salsa is what keeps me coming back. It is spicier than most salsas you'll find at a taco truck and has a really awesome flavor. I have been under-impressed with the pickled carrot, onion and jalapeno, but it isn't bad it just doesn't have a very strong vinegar flavor. Put this truck on your list if you love good tacos!

You have to be driving down the street to notice it. This might be one of the top three taco places in Utah--a must-try. It's crazy that this location is good because I've been to other El Jaripeo locations it's been terrible. Hopefully this wasn't a one-off meal
