It's easily one of the nicest-looking brunch spots I've visited in Utah. Unfortunately, the dining room feels overcrowded. The tables are placed extremely close together, making it difficult to have a private conversation. We often had to raise our voices just to hear each other, and even the servers seemed to struggle moving between tables. The atmosphere looked great, but it didn't feel very comfortable. The service was polite and friendly, but one thing bothered me. Shortly after we finished our main dishes, the check was brought to the table. We hadn't asked for it, and it made us feel a bit rushed, as if it was time to leave even though we were still talking with our friends. It's a small detail, but it affects the overall dining experience. For drinks, I ordered a piña colada, and unfortunately it was disappointing. It tasted overly diluted, with very little pineapple flavor, while the rum stood out much more than it should have. I also ordered the Vital Boost juice. This might be the only place in the Salt Lake Valley where brunch is actually worth it. The servers are so nice and friendly and are working so hard the whole time we were there. The food is so flavorful and the portions are pretty sizable. The ambiance is pretty similar to Sunday's Best (Brunch Hard) but I honestly think La Condesa pulls it off better. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait over a half hour to be seated. Once we were seated it took so long to even get drinks. Then we waited almost long time to even put in our orders. I read some reviews before going and consistently most people complained about the temperature of the food and drinks. We sat at the bar because we don't want to wait 45-50 min for a table of two. The one bread must be expensive unless they don't sell it by the piece. The bread was good but I couldn't get over the smell. More the concha than the other bread. It smelled like queso cotija. My husband tried the Chilaquiles Miss Condesa. That was a big meal and then some. This restaurant looked amazing on TikTok! To drink we ordered a Jamaica, Horchata, and the cafe de olla. these were so watered down and lacked flavor. The coffee was cold. For an appetizer we ordered the Chicharron Bites and they were bland, cold, greasy and chewy. It came with guacamole which was just mashed avocado with tiny pieces of tomato, onion and maybe a tiny bit of jalapeño. It also was lacking flavor (salt, lime etc.). The chips ion that plate were also unsalted and greasy. I ordered the enchiladas cremosas. I loved that they added picked onions and a ton of avocado to this dish. Unfortunately, the sauce was drowning the enchiladas and everything was mushy and cold. Over all the flavors of the dishes were very mild and the temperature of the food was warm at best. Our server was really friendly but not super attentive since it was so busy. Still, it would be unfair to say that the service was bad, but the kitchen/BOH really pulled down the experience. My order came with ribeye steak chilaquiles, refried beans, a sweet corn tamal, and a side of French toast. The ribeye was lean and thin which tasted more like just regular carne asada minus the lime, so probably wouldn't pay the premium for that next time. This is a hidden gem. Located conveniently off of I 15 near 114th south, this is a Mexican brunch restaurant. You may think that sounds odd, but the food was delicious. They specialize in Chilaquiles, which we did not try since it seemed too heavy for us that early in the morning. If you come later in the day it would probably be worth a try. We got the yogurt and fruit bowl and the tre leches pancakes, both of which were delicious. The sauce on the pancakes was a fun, unique topping. I also enjoyed the Nutella between the pancakes.
