If we're craving chips and salsa with dinner, we're going to La Hacienda. Almost always. Their chips come out warm, perfectly salty, and totally addictive -- and most of the time we can't get enough of the salsa. It's basically our default when we want sit-down Mexican. The salsa can vary a little from batch to batch (sometimes mild, sometimes surprisingly fiery), but that's part of the experience. Just know they bring a bowl per entrée and then charge for extras -- which feels a little lame, not gonna lie... but we still order it anyway because it's still good. It's clean, lively, and always buzzing. Weekend evenings? Absolute chaos. If you don't like a packed house and a wait, plan accordingly. We've learned our lesson there. Food-wise, it's the classic comfort lineup and it never disappoints. Cheese enchiladas are a staple for us. The flautas? So good. Fajitas? Solid every time. And let's just say if you're not adding cheese on top of your beans... you're missing out on the full experience. That melty layer makes everything better. We ordered off the kids menu this time too, and honestly I was impressed. $7 for a kids meal where you pick the entrée feels fair these days, and everything came out hot and tasty. Now... tonight's service was rough. Our server, Noemi, took about 15 minutes to bring water after we sat down -- even after we asked three separate times. We had chips and salsa immediately (and this batch of salsa was way hotter than usual), so when our toddler started coughing from the spice and needed water, we let her know. Somehow she still came back to take our order before bringing drinks. We literally had to say, "Can we please get water before we order?" It was strange and honestly frustrating. BUT. The food was still great. The atmosphere is still one we enjoy. And the chips and salsa will absolutely pull us back in again. La Hacienda is still our go-to when the salsa craving hits -- we'll just be hoping for smoother service next time. read more

We usually visit the Draper location but gave this location a shot while in the area. It was much easier to get a table, no wait time at all on a Saturday afternoon. The food was the same delicious meal we've experienced in Draper but service was less than impressive. It took a long time to be created by our server and we were checked on very infrequently even as beverage cups sat empty. If you are okay with exchanging waiting to be seated with subpar service it's the same food. I however am thinking the service at the other location will pull me back there. read more

Ordered a smothered burrito with rice and beans and received what looked like a smothered burrito but, had 1 piece of pork. Came here in a Sunday afternoon. Nice on the inside. Clean bathrooms. Friendly service. Food was mediocre. Chips and salsa - Chips are seasoned with Paprika I think. Like the chips a lot, however the salsa was very very watery with not many ingredients. A few chopped tomatoes and onions but mostly water. AppetIzer - Chile verde cheese fries - They were okay. Interesting concept but the fries get too mushy and soggy because of the Chile verde. Ide order the nachos instead next time. Four tacos (pollo asado and carnitas) - appreciated the fresh onion and tomato's but the chicken and carnitas were pretty dry. Overall the food was very mediocre. My parents owned a Mexican restaurant for 11 years so I am picky with Mexican restaurants. This place has potential. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon got seated right away. Our server was nice but sounded like she wasn't feeling well. Chips and salsa are good. Salsa is super watery. Why? My brother in law ordered Chile verde fries. They liked them. I didn't, nachos would have been 100 times better the fries where beyond soggy. Like undercooked soggy fries. It's a no for me. And there was hardly any meat. I ordered chicken hard shell tacos. The shredded chicken was good. The hard shell taco was good. Definitely would come for that. The beans and rice. Ummm no lacked so much flavor. Just add some salt to the beans or fry them with a Serano or jalapeño and it will give them flavor! The rice again just add seasoning. Chicken brother garlic onions salt something! My husband ordered tacos and gave a thumbs down for the chicken and carnitas. Both dry. Had to drown them in watery salsa. My brother in law ordered the carnitas plate and also mentioned they were dry. My sister in law ordered fajitas and said they were good. Wasn't very impressed with this place. I've eaten here a few times before, but this time the service was terrible. It took around 15ish minutes before anyone even came to our table to greet us, get us drinks, etc. We went around lunchtime and we're one of the only people there, plus there were lots of workers, just no one helping us. The servers weren't too friendly when they did finally help us either. The food was okay, nothing too special. I got a bean and cheese burrito and my brother got the cheese enchiladas. I was surprised at the level of service, full bar and large menu options. I often feel we are in a food desert in this area but the food was great and our server, Nayeli was lovely and attentive without being overbearing. We will certainly go back. My wife and I used to love the ground beef chimichangas but I order only to get home and and find that I got mostly tortilla and hardly any ground beef. The worst part is a year ago the price was cheaper and there was actual ground beef inside. Have you ever heard someone say that they can't get enough of a good thing? Well, that may be the case here. The Draper location is SO good and SO popular, that there was a need for another location to serve all the hungry customers. So the South Jordan restaurant was born. Located in a small strip mall/office complex, it appears as an unassuming little eatery. But once you step inside, you'll see that there is a full bar and plenty of tables. There's even patio dining for the nice months. I'd suggest visiting during what I call "geriatric hours" (3-5pm for dinner) to avoid a long wait. Due to Covid limiting capacity and the darn exceptional food bringing in lots of patrons, the wait can be longer than you'd anticipate. The service is phenomenal, despite the wait you may encounter. People are friendly and eager to give recommendations, and while I usually have my favorites, I asked Marysol, our server, for her favorite dish. She recommended the tacos, which I then ordered. It was a great suggestion-I loved them. The chips and salsa is a bit hot-I think it's the seasoning on the chips more so than the salsa itself. So be prepared for that. A place to have dinner with family and friends. The hostess was attentive and the place looks really nice and new. The good was mostly good. I enjoyed the nachos appetizer with steak. I wished the green salsa of my plate was more spicy. I asked the waiter before ordering and he said it was quite spicy, but it hasn't. Beside that, I liked the chimichanga (ground beef) and the rice from my plate. On the other side, I tried the burrito smothered on red salsa from my husband plate, and it was disappointing. The salsa had a bitter taste. After a 15 minutes wait we were seated at 8:10 pm. The restaurant close at 9:00 pm and we thought that was plenty time to eat our dinner. The food took longer than expected and by the time we were finishing our dinner it was 9:00 pm. I wanted to order dessert but the waiter brought our ticket without asking if we wanted something else before the kitchen close. Also, I get that they wanted to get home but I was still drinking soda from my cup when they took it without asking. We have tried this place a few times lately . We love it here. The chips & salsa are delicious . Sometime the salsa is spicy but it's so good. The chips have seasoning on them & they are not greasy at all. The guacamole is the best ! It is made of real avocado not the fake stuff. The staff is very friendly & helpful. We've been eyeing this place for quite awhile, and was so happy to hear it has finally opened! We got take out from here on a holiday Monday, and the service was quick! We ordered in person, since their website wasn't working so we couldn't see the menu. We got three smothered burritos with cheese, beans, rice, and their chips and salsa to go. They had a waiting area where we sat for about 10 min until our food was ready. The food was SO good! The rice was the best we've had, and we wished we got more of that! The chips was also good, but the salsa lacked a bit of a kick to it. The environment felt clean, and the space was actually quite large! They also did a good job of distancing customers out that actually dined in. The parking here is actually spacious and that is something that I value on a busy night! The chips were really good! They were the normal tortilla chips you know and love, but also seemed to be seasoned with paprika. I loved them! The rest of the food I had was average for this type of food. I had the carnitas plate. They tasted good, but the meat was a bit more dry than I prefer. His and and I love La Hacienda so when they opened their new location down the street from us, we had to go! We went on a Wednesday around 6pm and were able to get seated right away. They are doing covid seating really well and they have booths and tables blocked off. The service was awesome! Right when we sat down we were given fresh tortilla chips and salsa. We like their salsa but some might say it is too watery. We ordered from the combo plates, husband got the shredded beef enchiladas and chili rellenos and I got the cheese enchilada and pork tostada. They were both AMAZEBALLS. They have hands down the best cheese enchiladas! And the shredded beef in the chimichanga was to die for. I'm not kidding the first thing i'm excited about is the salsa if a Mexican restaurant cannot master something as simple as salsa. You should know the food isn't going to deliver either. Parking area is a bit tight, but I was still able to find a spot upon arrival. Staff were friendly and were quick to bring out food. Dining area and ambiance were nice. Bathrooms were nice, updated, and very clean. Asada burrito was 8/10. Chimichangas were 6.5/10, nothing special about them. Location is great, just within the District in South Jordan. Place is clean and hostesses and servers were very nice. I ordered the fried tilapia (they called it mojeres something) and it was nicely cooked, nice and crispy and flavored naturally. The fish is delish. The portions here come pretty big. I enjoyed the fish tacos as well. My son enjoyed the asada taco. the menudo was good, I wished they sliced the tripe smaller however, they were too big. Their kids menu is a good size as well and it's nice they have small portions of their meals in the kids menu. It drives me nuts when kids menu only consists of Mac and cheese and chicken fingers. So I was happy with the fact that my daughter will also enjoy some Mexican food while we eat Mexican food. The strawberry pina colada smoothie is really yummy.
