To start, unfortunately I did not get any pictures from dinner. I didn't go inside the restaurant and sit down for dinner, my work group decided to cater some cheesesteaks. When placing an order, the Inquiry was a simple process and was able to put in cost per person, a budget and able to give an idea of what i was wanting to order. After placing the order, I quickly got a call from the owner Mr, Murphy himself and he was super helpful and was able to work with us to fulfill our order. Some of the best service over the phone to help us. And then the food itself, amazing. The guys who picked up the order said they waited as long as they could before we arrived to stsrt making our order to make sure it was all hot and fresh. My worry was the short drive from the restaurant to the office and the fries and bread being soggy. Far from it. It was all still fresh and crispy. All of us agreed it was some of the best cheesesteaks we've had in years and will be ordering from here in the future. read more

We have been looking for a new cheesesteak place as the one we used to go to upped their prices and downgraded quality - stopped in here for the first time for dinner. We really enjoyed the food! Prices I would say were on the lower side for a cheesesteak place. We loved the variety of options they had. We got the Garlic Cheesesteak & the Bleu Cheese Cheesesteak but on a bed of fries. Really loved the offered that option. We also got a side of Onion Rings. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Even the cooks came out to check on how the food was. Just seems to have been too long since I've been here and had to fill that craving for something hot, tasty, fresh, and delicious... Murphy's Cafe 126 fits the bill. They've gotten fancy with two easy to use kiosks to place your order... very detailed lists to customize your order including space to type special instructions. I got my classic with onions, adding mushrooms, green bell peppers and fresh jalapeños... chose my cheese (many options) and about 10-15 minutes later a polite young lady called out my name and hand delivered my takeout... I got hope in 10 minutes and the sandwich and fries were still hot. Looked like a lot of food and thought I wasn't going to finish... both tasted good so, yeah... I finished this tasty grub. I have heard great things about Murphy's so finally had a chance to give it a try. Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed. The sandwiches are not cheap, we ordered 3 - 10" sandwiches and it came to roughly $55. The sandwiches themselves were light and didn't have much meat in them compared to other cheesesteak restaurants. Bread was soft and good but sandwiches were a little dry. No side sauces to dip in. My friend and I were getting together to catch up before Thanksgiving, and we decided to go to Murphy's Café 126, located at 12575 S Rhetski Ln., Riverton, UT. I'm very glad we did. The café name notwithstanding, this is predominantly a Philadelphia style cheesesteak, and burger shop. The decor is a little cleaner and a bit nicer than some of the cheesesteak joints I've been to. Service was friendly and quick, with good recommendations provided. I enjoyed the blue cheese cheesesteak with a side of tater tots, and my friend ordered the cream cheese and jalapeño cheesesteak. The potatoes were crisp, even after they cooled. Both sandwiches were generously stuffed and very flavorful. We chatted for over two hours during dinner and the staff checked with us to see if we needed anything else, again, very helpful and friendly. The owner is hilarious and so sweet. He gave us 10% off because us and another couple helped determine the song that was playing for him. We've tried many things off the menu in the past and have never been disappointed. This visit, we got the mozzarella sticks, traditional cheesesteak, kids grilled cheese and the honey garlic burger. The traditional is your typical cheesesteak. Beef, cheese , bell pepper. It's one of the best we've ever had. Moving on to the honey garlic burger. HOLY COW. Just me writing this is making me drool. It was sooo good. Perfect flavor. The patty was seasoned very well. Even the texture of the patty was perfect. The fries are great as well. The kids grilled cheese was huge and filled with tons of cheese. My daughter loved it. I should also mention that they cook to order. We didn't have to wait long at all. I really wanted to like this place but the health code violation left me so grossed out. The women's bathroom toilet wasn't sealed so the base was leaking brown liquid and after every flush the dookie water flowed into the floor drain that was two feet away. Barf. The two front register ladies were very nice and were doing their best to manage the busy lunch rush. There was a delay on all the fries (there is one person manning the fryer and they need another fryer to keep pace). The cheesesteaks were okay - minimal meat and they all taste the same despite attempting to differentiate. If this place could simplify their menu - get rid of 50% of the options, master the few, and consider bags of chips instead of fries - and have someone replace the wax seal asap....the owners, employees and customers would see an improvement in all areas. Until at least women's bathroom is repaired and sanitized, I will not be returning to try the burgers because Lbh, there are plenty of better burger places in the vicinity. read more

I just tried Murphy's for the first time. They've got the best cheesesteak in Utah. I've been to Moochie's, DP, Gaetano's, The Philadelphian, Philadelphia Sub Shop, and Vito's. Murphy's is at the top. We ordered the jalapeño cheese with white American (thank you for having multiple cheese options!) and the cream cheese with no mushrooms. Both were fantastic. Usually in Utah I'm annoyed with the bread, or the meat, or the cheese, or something, but these were perfect. The regular fries and sweet potato fries were great as well. A night out to catch up with my Yelp bestie Jolene started with this place we've never tried before. The place was not busy at all, most likely due to them closing in an hour. The staff was polite and made suggestions when asked. The place was clean and I love there's napkins on the table because I'm the one making the napkin mountain when I'm eating. I got an 8' cream cheese cheesesteak with onion rings and a drink. The meat was flavorful, cooked thoroughly and not too salty at all. I never thought to put cream cheese as a spread on my cheesesteak but this went well together. No burnt pieces and the hoagie was toasted well. Onion rings tasted slightly oily but not so much I couldn't finish them like I did. You know I got ranch to dip those in too ;) Pepsi products in the fountain drink station. I'm not a cheesesteak snob by any means but this is good enough to hit the spot if you're craving one and in the area. Best cheesesteaks that I found in Utah hands-down. They don't pre-cook the meat and let it sit there all day long waiting for you to pick out which items you wanna add to it. They cook the meat with the peppers and onions and cheese so it's flavorful that's the right way to do it. And if you want the best french fries and Utah, this is the place as well. Food was really good, service was quick and it was an enjoyable night out! Now here is the reason for 4 star and not 5. The food was very flavorful and we both enjoyed it! But it was very pricy in our opinion. I'm not saying they need to slash prices but it was a little more than we would typically pay for a meal like this. (I was aware based on other reviews that this was the case but it still shocked me a little.) They also charge for all sauces which seems a little strange since the food is more expensive. And the final reason for 4 stars is the 4% charge on your card if you use a credit card. I understand those fees are pricey for businesses but I thought we were past the days of customers paying for that. Anyway! We will probably come back eventually! read more
