They charge for regular and jalapeño fry sauce which NORMALLY i would be mad about but after tasting them... i did not mind the 50cents each charge. Plus the dipping container was bigger than normal. I'm not a cheese steak girl, but I love burgers! And I was in the mood for a good burger, which I found here at Murphy's Cafe. It's a small shop located in a strip mall, and the food packs a punch. Each order is made fresh, so can take a few minutes-but it's worth the wait. The burger comes with two patties and a lovely bun-just the right ratio. Most people get other toppings such as lettuce, tomato and a special sauce. Not me. I'm a plainest, and I prefer to eat like a child. We came to Murphy's Café in their old location by the high school. We thought it was a great experience. The cheesesteaks were great. I thought the fries were good. The staff was really friendly and fun to talk to. Something happened when they moved to the new location. THEY GOT VERY EXPENSIVE! We were shocked when we saw the menu. It is not what we expected. I get they have a new location and may have higher bills to pay or maybe inflation was a concern. It seemed a bit unreasonable. Chicken sandwich - 4 stars - it was OK. Nothing special. The chicken on its own or in the sandwich was average. Onion Rings - 5 stars - The onion rings were really good. They had a nice bite to them. The onion and the batter held together well. They were not greasy or oily. They were just very expensive. We did the math and it ended up being about $.75 per onion ring. They wanted over $6 for the basket. Seemed high. Traditional Cheesesteak - 3 stars - Major disappointment here. The bread they use is great but the bottom of my bun was broken. The cheesesteaks looked like they put the meat in the bun and then put a slice of cheese over the top and then sent it out. Super lame. The cheese was not throughout the sandwich. By the time it got to me the cheese was no longer melted but had a melted shape. It might have been an off day but with the price as being as high as they are I'm hesitant to try again when I can get cheaper cheesesteaks with a little bit of travel. read more

Excellent service! The owner Mr. Murphy was very friendly. I'm gluten sensitive so he suggested I get a cheesesteak but over tater tots and it was delicious! Lots of cheese, thick sliced mushrooms, tender beef, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato. Their chicken wings are huge and totally worth the wait. Everything is made to order and they have many chicken wing sauces to choose from. I suggest the habanero mango sauce and Carolina bbq sauce. They have their own fry sauce which is a creamy, ranch like sauce and a mild spice jalapeño fry sauce. Wish it had a more kick to it but it tasted like the regular fry sauce. The ambience is simple but back to the service...the staff and owner checked on us multiple times and cleared our table when they didn't have to. I wish they had some fresh iced tea. I saw the brewer to make coffee so I thought they had iced tea. I'm still going back to try more things. I hear they serve breakfast on Saturday's. Can you imagine a Philly cheesesteak over eggs? In a land full of chains, it is beyond refreshing to find an independent restaurant that prides itself on quality and excellence. I typically grab my phillys to go and they are still warm and steaming by the time I get home. Their carry out packaging and warming oven really does the trick. I've had great experiences with the staff and Mr. Murphy himself is the most down to earth gentleman and always willing to chat about the menu and give recommendations. My sister and I decided to try this place after seeing it posted on Instagram as a black-owned business. It's not too hard to find but I did post pictures so you could see the other businesses nearby to get a better idea of location. We're both onion ring snobs. When we saw onion rings on the menu we knew we had to get them. They lived up to every expectation. Hot and crispy, not greasy. In fact would like to recommend to the owner to create a new menu item: those onion rings topped with cheese steak meat, cheese, peppers, onions and drizzled with some of the jalapeño sauce. Name it after me. Excellent burgers. Huge burgers. As in I really should've only eaten half and taken the other half home. But I did eat the whole thing, enjoyed every bite, and will eat nothing the rest of the day. Classic toppings. The bacon was crispy. And you can see that they were presented well in the takeout containers. Now let's talk just a little bit about the jalapeño fry sauce. Yes, you want it. No, it is not that spicy. But it does have a great jalapeño flavor that works so well with onion rings. Great stuff. They are quick and very friendly. The establishment is impeccably clean. Although I ordered ahead, I had to wait in line awhile and the teenagers behind me were not staying 6 ft away. Another frustrating thing was that there was no counter by the drink station.
