I had been wanting to try Halalepeños for a while and tonight I finally did. I ordered the mixed protein burrito and it was the literally the best burrito I've ever had! I was super skeptical about having all 3 proteins with different flavors, but I was assured it would taste great. He was absolutely right! All of the flavors were amazing and the burrito was huge. Keep it up, you're doing great! The food - not sure how this could ever get less than 5 stars. I got the Paratha Roll (a pan-fried flatbread made from whole-wheat flour dough that is rolled out, layered with oil or ghee, folded, and then cooked on a hot griddle until it becomes crispy on the outside and soft inside.) It reminded me of a crispy German Pancake or crepe - which I'm used to eating. I chose "mixed protein" which includes Birria Nihari Beef, Chicken Tikka and Falafel. Each bite was flavorful. Served with a side of fries and fry sauce. I thought it was nice to include a note on their menu that their beef comes from a local farm - Robert Walton Farms. We went for the Yelp event. Thank you Lo for finding this place. We had a great time. We fell into the big green couch and they brought the food right to us. It felt like we were eating dinner in their living room not a restaurant. For the people who did not get to sit on the green couch it's a cute and clean place. We met the owners and their staff. I asked them how did they participate in Ramadan and work at a restaurant? This made them laugh because I know I'm too weak for that so I truly admire them for that. Now for the food. My husband loved his Smash Burger. He described it as a Quesadilla Burger. His perfect combo. I had the chicken roll up on Pirantha fried delicious crisp bread but that doesn't really describe it. What I know it's delicious. If you love Humus get it. It's spicy, lemony and simply delicious. It was probably my favorite thing. We brought home the cake. I couldn't resist and took two bites out. It melts in your mouth. They give you a piece the size of half of a cake! If it's wasn't late at night I would eat it too but I must save it for Breakfast so I have a day to work it off. Halalepenos is a really, really good restaurant from the helpful staff to the delicious food, it blends Mexican and Indian flavors and it doesn't disappoint! We got the chicken Tikka paratha roll up which was so flavorful and delicious. Everything is fresh, made to order so there was a 10 minute wait but worth it. Let's go! First bite...chai Tea... hot, steamy, cinnamon and chai pairs well with the Samosa. Think crunch wrap supreme with a flaky, buttery tortilla and tikka chicken, birria beef, and falafel. Comes on a bed of thick fries and fry sauce. Fast casual counter service with plenty of seating. Easy location to spot! It's right off bangerter and redwood road next to Burt brothers! You can't miss it. Lot of parking even though it's a shared lot. Walking in, it feels like you're in a betos environment. I thought it was an American Mexican restaurant at first. But the music playing was not. Maybe it is. I wasn't too sure. But it was nice. Lots of space to dine in, which we did. It was a little slow the day we went. Not too much traffic. We were greeted and welcomed upon walking in. Real cool guy. He was the cashier and cook. So there was a little bit of a wait. BUT it was worth the wait. I got the double Pattie smash burger. Highly recommended. It was really juicy and flavorful. My son had the protein meal. Yum! We came here on a whim because we wanted to try something different. The service was fast and friendly and great to walk us through the menu and make recommendations. We can't eat beef, so Chicken Tikka was our go-to. We tried the paratha roll and burrito, with a tres leches for dessert. Everything was prepared fresh and hot and packed with flavorful! Just tried this place this week and it's a great halal place if you're wanting something different or that classic Mexican comfort food. They have some cool and different variations of your classic Mexican food like burritos and quesadillas etc. with a fusion edge which was really different and nice. The food was good for what it is- we got a burrito and the smash burger, a couple stale fries and a bit slow currently as they're getting their footing under them but nothing that won't iron over with time. We had a great time at a new halal and Mexican restaurant in Riverton! The name is pretty clever, and the place is spotless with around 6-8 tables that seat four. The manager was super friendly and gave us some tasty suggestions. We went with the Paratha Smash Burgers, Birria Nihari Beef Burrito, and Ras Malal Tres Leches cake. The burger was absolutely amazing--so tasty, soft, and the paratha buns were just perfect. The burrito was like a halal bowl wrapped in a burrito, filled with rice, sauce, and meat. Why won't yelp let you do half star reviews? This place is a solid 3.75, location is super small but easy to spot, with plenty of room to sit in, and the customer service was top notch! Super accommodating and friendly. We tried both the chicken and beef paratha rolls earlier today. My honest opinion is that the chicken one was truly delicious, filling, tender and full of flavor, but on the other hand the beef one lacked some punch. Unfortunately the food just isn't that good for the serving size and price. I think the menu's pricing structure is disingenuous. The Paratha Smash Burger displayed a $12.95 price tag on the menu but any protein option increases the price. They recommended the Birria Nihari Beef, which is an additional $3. Then we got tax and tip so we eventually get to about $20 for a small entree that didn't even fill up my wife. The Paratha Roll-Up starts at $7.95 but any protein adds an additional $2. It also seems poor to only give 1 small cup of sauce for an entree and a side of fries...The dining room is also pretty small and the tables are very close to each other, making it difficult for the guests to get comfortable and enjoy their food. The only bright side is the workers. They're very nice, but it doesn't match the predatory meal sizes and pricing structure system, leading to a weird vibe. We likely won't be coming back. read more
