My first bite at Halalepenos was an absolute explosion of flavor. The beef, chicken, and falafel were all fantastic, and yes, I'm about to rave about lentils too--they were incredible! We ordered the mixed meat tacos and the chicken bowl, and wow... they were ridiculously good. Every ingredient tasted fresh, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. The fusion of Pakistani and Hispanic cuisine works way better than I could have imagined. And the sauces? They were the cherry on top and took everything to another level. We went here again on our anniversary lunch and we were treated to a free dessert which was absolutely delish! If loving food like this is wrong, I don't want to be right. Halalepenos has officially earned a spot on my must-visit list. Highly recommend! read more

I've been wanting to try Halalepeños since I drove by just prior to opening. I'm really glad we did! Went with a friend and decided to try the loaded samosas and the loaded fries. Everything was well seasoned, generously sauces (that's my religion so thank you very much). The cashier, who I'm assuming is an owner or manager, was very passionate about the restaurant and helping with the menu. His energy for the food was infectious! read more

"I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!" Is what I wanted to yell to the sky after eating a falafel paratha roll. I'm a changed woman. It was delicious, unique, and honestly one of the best things I've partaken of. read more

I really like this place. The service was really good. The place was clean. The falafel was excellent. I would've liked a better variety of vegetables. I saw one tiny little piece of tomato and would've loved a bunch more. Regardless, I will be back. read more

We went for the Yelp event. Thank you Lo for finding this place. We had a great time. We fell into the big green couch and they brought the food right to us. It felt like we were eating dinner in their living room not a restaurant. For the people who did not get to sit on the green couch it's a cute and clean place. We met the owners and their staff. I asked them how did they participate in Ramadan and work at a restaurant? This made them laugh because I know I'm too weak for that so I truly admire them for that. Now for the food. My husband loved his Smash Burger. He described it as a Quesadilla Burger. His perfect combo. I had the chicken roll up on Pirantha fried delicious crisp bread but that doesn't really describe it. What I know it's delicious. If you love Humus get it. It's spicy, lemony and simply delicious. It was probably my favorite thing. We brought home the cake. I couldn't resist and took two bites out. It melts in your mouth. They give you a piece the size of half of a cake! If it's wasn't late at night I would eat it too but I must save it for Breakfast so I have a day to work it off. It was a multi cultural experience right in Bluffdale/Riverton. We will be back and I hope you try it too. read more

New spot in Riverton! I was driving home thinking about getting some food when I spied a new storefront on my way home. As soon as I saw Halal I had to check it out. Pulled a U and pulled in. Didn't realize they were closing in 15 minutes until after I ordered. They don't say a word or do anything that would make it appear like it was an issue. Nothing but warm smiles and care. Everything is fresh, made to order so there was a 10 minute wait but worth it. Let's go! First bite...chai Tea... hot, steamy, cinnamon and chai pairs well with the Samosa. The beef samosa is braised beef with traditional Indian spices that is very good. There is dairy so if you're intolerant let them know. The hummus is good too. I'm full so not having the Tres Leche' cake. .. yet. read more

Halalepenos is a really, really good restaurant from the helpful staff to the delicious food, it blends Mexican and Indian flavors and it doesn't disappoint! We got the chicken Tikka paratha roll up which was so flavorful and delicious. It is basically Indian chicken Tikka (or your choice of protein) and wrapped in this egg batter roll up which really hit all the flavor notes. I love this place! read more

Glad they opened this up close to my house. Finally Utah is getting some variety. Please more. Halalapeños is a gem. The Pakistani/Hispanic fusion menu is amazing. Their staff is courteous and helpful and they keep the place tidy n clean. The gentleman making our order did a great job and delivered with a smile. He is the son of the owner. Keep it up, you're doing great! The food - not sure how this could ever get less than 5 stars. I got the Paratha Roll (a pan-fried flatbread made from whole-wheat flour dough that is rolled out, layered with oil or ghee, folded, and then cooked on a hot griddle until it becomes crispy on the outside and soft inside.) It reminded me of a crispy German Pancake or crepe - which I'm used to eating. I chose "mixed protein" which includes Birria Nihari Beef, Chicken Tikka and Falafel. Each bite was flavorful. Served with a side of fries and fry sauce. I thought it was nice to include a note on their menu that their beef comes from a local farm - Robert Walton Farms. Next time I come, I'll be getting either the smash burger or bowl. DEFINITELY going to come specifically for the desserts. Thank you Halalapeños for a wonderful meal. We live close, so we'll be stopping by often. read more

Discovered this new spot in Riverton right off bangerter and redwood. Middle Eastern fusion?! Say less! I got the paratha roll with mixed protein. Think crunch wrap supreme with a flaky, buttery tortilla and tikka chicken, birria beef, and falafel. Comes on a bed of thick fries and fry sauce. Fast casual counter service with plenty of seating. They have a comfy green couch and wide table if you really wanna get comfy. Beautiful wall art and the most melodic music playing in the background. The staff was super friendly and helpful explaining the menu. They just opened in December. Love supporting small, local businesses, especially when they make great food. Definitely coming back to try the paratha smash burger and burrito read more

Amazing, I never knew Pakistani and Mexican food could be infused so well. The food portions are great and everything mixes together well . This is probably gonna be our new favorite place to go for lunch and dinner. What a unique idea, and the chef was very helpful. So if you aren't sure what to get, just ask for guidance. I can't imagine giving this place anything lower than 4 stars. If you want something that tastes new AND familiar at the same time, this is the place to go. read more

Easy location to spot! It's right off bangerter and redwood road next to Burt brothers! You can't miss it. Lot of parking even though it's a shared lot. Walking in, it feels like you're in a betos environment. I thought it was an American Mexican restaurant at first. But the music playing was not. Maybe it is. I wasn't too sure. But it was nice. Lots of space to dine in, which we did. It was a little slow the day we went. Not too much traffic. We were greeted and welcomed upon walking in. Real cool guy. He was the cashier and cook. So there was a little bit of a wait. BUT it was worth the wait. I got the double Pattie smash burger. Highly recommended. It was really juicy and flavorful. My son had the protein meal. And my husband had the fiesta fries. They were all really good. If you're in the area (Riverton) you gotta check this place out. read more

Yum! We came here on a whim because we wanted to try something different. The service was fast and friendly and great to walk us through the menu and make recommendations. We can't eat beef, so Chicken Tikka was our go-to. We tried the paratha roll and burrito, with a tres leches for dessert. Everything was prepared fresh and hot and packed with flavorful! Nothing was too strong, which we really appreciated in the chipotle. Both of our entrees were cheesey, comforting, and filling. We loved the cinnamon/horchata vibe of the tres leches. We would definitely come back to try more of their offerings! read more

Just tried this place this week and it's a great halal place if you're wanting something different or that classic Mexican comfort food. They have some cool and different variations of your classic Mexican food like burritos and quesadillas etc. with a fusion edge which was really different and nice. The food was good for what it is- we got a burrito and the smash burger, a couple stale fries and a bit slow currently as they're getting their footing under them but nothing that won't iron over with time. The owner is super nice and it was a fun vibe overall- great new joint to get something unique in the area and an absolutely fantastic halal option. read more

We had a great time at a new halal and Mexican restaurant in Riverton! The name is pretty clever, and the place is spotless with around 6-8 tables that seat four. The manager was super friendly and gave us some tasty suggestions. We went with the Paratha Smash Burgers, Birria Nihari Beef Burrito, and Ras Malal Tres Leches cake. The burger was absolutely amazing--so tasty, soft, and the paratha buns were just perfect. The burrito was like a halal bowl wrapped in a burrito, filled with rice, sauce, and meat. The Tres Leches cake was so moist with a hint of cinnamon. We had such a wonderful meal and can't wait to try the Samosas and Roll-ups next time! read more

The food and portion size here are overrated. I got a burger patty with cheese in a tortilla and fry sauce. The place is a bit dirty and when I was there, there was one person working the front and also doing the cooking.. it did not look clean. In addition, I Shazamed the Islamic music that was playing, which translated into "Islamic soldiers of God". No thanks read more

All sooo good! The desserts are top notch and I'd say definitely fit for sharing. The chicken tikka paratha roll was magical. Saucy, nice cheese outer, blend of flavors was like nothing I've had before. The beef niharai has a kick, in all the right ways. You need to come try this place! read more

This place is awesome! I got the Chicken Tikka signature bowl. My wife got the beef bowl. We ordered falafel for the baby. Everything was delicious! Probably the best falafel I've had in a while, reminds me of the really good stuff I've had overseas. We will be back soon. read more

Wow! We didn't know what to expect, but left as fans! I am dying to go back. Clean, friendly and great food.

Went here on a whim with the family. We were traveling back from yellowstone and it popped up on our map as we were heading back to California. We were treated with incredible hospitality and food from the owner. Very down to earth person. The paratha smash burger is a must try here. Why won't yelp let you do half star reviews? This place is a solid 3.75, location is super small but easy to spot, with plenty of room to sit in, and the customer service was top notch! Super accommodating and friendly. We tried both the chicken and beef paratha rolls earlier today. My honest opinion is that the chicken one was truly delicious, filling, tender and full of flavor, but on the other hand the beef one lacked some punch. I would totally recommend coming here and trying it on your own time. read more

Unfortunately the food just isn't that good for the serving size and price. I think the menu's pricing structure is disingenuous. The Paratha Smash Burger displayed a $12.95 price tag on the menu but any protein option increases the price. They recommended the Birria Nihari Beef, which is an additional $3. Then we got tax and tip so we eventually get to about $20 for a small entree that didn't even fill up my wife. The Paratha Roll-Up starts at $7.95 but any protein adds an additional $2. It also seems poor to only give 1 small cup of sauce for an entree and a side of fries...The dining room is also pretty small and the tables are very close to each other, making it difficult for the guests to get comfortable and enjoy their food. The only bright side is the workers. They're very nice, but it doesn't match the predatory meal sizes and pricing structure system, leading to a weird vibe. We likely won't be coming back. read more
