My son wearing a sombrero

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Utah! The owners are so sweet and kind. The food is amazing. I love the chili rellenos and my wife loves anything from there with shrimp! The inside is very fun and festive with hats up hanging on the wall. They got one down and let my son wear it! He thought it was so cool. Definitely go here and support them and enjoy some fantastic food!

This is place is great! Authentic and tasty food. The best part is that all their non pork options are HALAL even cooked separately! The restaurant is clean, the service is great. The kind of place where the owner walks around and asks you how your meal was! He's so kind and talented! We love the quesabirrias, California burritos, fajitas, and enchiladas! This place is now in our regular rotation!

This is a family owned business and they really take pride in everything they do. Alongside the fact that they are amazing people, they cook from the heart and will work hard to make you happy. We have tried many things on the menu and they do not disappoint. Fajitas are sizzling hot, the rice is homemade perfection, excellent tacos, burritos, great shawarma, too!! Check them out!

Today, I was on a delayed schedule so came in at 2pm for a late lunch. Welcomed by a kind young man who offered me any table, as I was the only person in the restaurant at this time. He gave me a few minutes with the menu (which is VERY well done, complete with pictures) and offered me to get a drink and brought complimentary chips and salsa (excellent- great flavor without the tongue burning). I ordered the Enchilada Supreme (2 chicken, 2 cheese). Was very impressed with the presentation and the taste exceeded expectations. The chicken was tender and flavorful and just the right amount of sauce (I ordered green). The cheese was equally awesome. Very filling. It was enough for two meals, so I'm skipping dinner for a lite snack. BONUS: As I perused the menu found they have a whole Mediterranean section with Falafel, Shawarma and Kabob. Wow! My server explained they have two kitchens- one for each fare. I'll definitely be back to try that side. Come now before the crowds start, because if they keep this up, I imagine this place will be filling up soon! Great job team! Thanks for bringing your gifts, talents and delicious cuisine to mid Midvale.

Ground beef kebab with seasoned fries

My brother-in-law was looking for halal spots in the area and came across this New Mexican-Arab fusion restaurant. We decided to check it out--and let me tell you, everything is halal (except the pork, of course). I ordered the menudo, and it did not disappoint. I've never had menudo served with the bone still in, packed with all that gelatinous goodness ‍. My wife got the queso birria, and my daughter had the ground beef kebab--both were amazing as well. The service was excellent. The owner even came by to check in on us, which I really appreciated. And this might sound weird, but the restrooms were very clean--definitely an A+ in my book! lol Highly recommend giving it a try.

Great service! Mole and quessabirria tacos are excellent!

EXCELLENT food and service with no wait! Super clean and open on Sunday too! The mole and the birria were both perfect! Can't wait to try the Mediterranean food!

The atmosphere, the food, the people. Everything absolutely perfect. The portion size was HUGE which was a nice surprise. The aguas frescas were incredible too. Highly recommend the pineapple one.

Quesabirria

Always get a bit nervous when I walk into a place and it feels empty, granted they have a large space and it was a Monday. Wanted to try this place since im a Latin Muslim and most of their meat is Halal. I ordered chicken enchiladas and I enjoyed them; rice, beans, and sauce had a good flavor, shredded chicken was a bit dull. My friend had the quesabirria tacos that she let me try. Those were yummy, we hit them with extra lime and that was perfect. The side of birria broth was delicious. They have a large menu so I'll definitely be back to try more items. Staff was friendly, food came out quickly, more people started to show as we ate. I was a fan of the salsa that came with the free chips, it had a lovely flavor. Their chicken and beef is halal. Server says they use different pots/grill for halal versus pork.

I ordered the fish tacos and a cucumber lemonade, and both were outstanding. The lemonade was incredibly refreshing and hit the spot perfectly. The fish tacos were crispy, flavorful, and served with several different condiments that allowed you to customize each bite and add even more flavor. The chips and salsa were also fresh and delicious. One thing to note is that the parking lot is small and was completely packed when we arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon. However, we were still able to find parking and get a table surprisingly fast despite the crowd. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere made for a great experience. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend giving this place a try!

They start you off with chips and salsa, which is always appreciated. Just know that the first basket is complimentary and any additional baskets come with a charge. Of everything we tried, the Cheesy Pastor Tacos were the clear standout. The birria, asada, and chorizo were all good, but the pastor tacos stole the show. Next time I'll probably skip the variety and just order those. The only thing that caught us off guard was the seating policy. They wouldn't seat our table until everyone in the party had arrived, even though the people we were waiting for were literally pulling into the parking lot. It wasn't a huge issue, but it did feel a little unnecessary and inconvenient. Overall, the food was excellent, the drinks were refreshing, and the experience was a good one. I'll definitely be back, especially for the Cheesy Pastor Tacos.

You can order the Chimichanga in shredded beef, ground beef, chicken or carnitas. That's four different Chimichangas that they offer and what I told each one is absolutely delicious. I always love to order the chile relleno because you get a nice anaheim , or a poblano chili in it, stuffed with cheese, dipped in their batter, cooked and topped with their house sauce. Always a perfect choice and a perfect choice to compliment whatever you order with it. Their birria tacos looked absolutely delicious. I might order those when I go another time. Yeah, everyone enjoyed their food. Even the children; they had good choices for the children. As you can see in the pictures , the atmosphere is sweet and wonderful and inviting. There are two parking spaces on the west side of the building. I have seen cars get totally stuck, people yelling and getting upset. If you have a large vehicle, I would not even try to drive around the building. I would drive south of the restaurant and park at the whitmore library's parking lot, and walk over. Service is okay. Ordering is cramped, and if there's a line you're standing at the back of the restaurant right next to people sitting eating. It's uncomfortable. During the summer there is seating inside and outside, but during high times you have to wait for a table! The Chile Verde enchiladas were just cheese enchiladas with two little cubes (less than sugar cube sized) pieces of very dry pork.
