If I could give 0 stars, I would. After looking at reviews later, STAY AWAY! The place was pretty empty, large menu for the 4 of us. Ordered chix taco w/ rice and beans, chix quesedilla, big combo and Chile Verde enchiladas. We new something was up when the waiter brought us another round water and juice after 20 mins waiting without asking. Food arrived at an uncomfortable 30 mins. Everyone's chicken was bland, like poached w/ no seasoning. Quesadilla was only toasted on the inside with not very much cheese-could not eat. Everyone's rice and beans tasted stale. The Chile Verde enchiladas were just cheese enchiladas with two little cubes (less than sugar cube sized) pieces of very dry pork. When I questioned the waiter about what I had discovered, he only asked if I wanted to order a side of Chile Verde. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? All of the chix meal portions were unedible, rice and beans were unedible and the large combo plate burrito was basically beans, no meat. I spoke with the cashier about our our disappointment, her response was "we have the best chef" If you value freshness, flavor, authenticity and value for your money, this is not the place to dine "  Waste of money for sure. read more

I often judge these fast food Mexican joints by how well they do carne asada fries. This place does not do well. It was okay, I guess - fries looked and tasted fresh cut, which could have been the lone bright spot..Except they were soggy and limp, just saturated in grease.. I mean super greasy. Also the asada steak is bad here - cut big, very tough with a lot of inedible gristle. On top of that they are very stingy with the toppings - a tiny amount of guacamole, light on cheese, with a tiny packet of sour cream on side. No pico de gallo. And the large container of red "salsa" on the side was a joke. It's the first I've ever seen actual marinara with added Mexican spices passed off for salsa. It was disgusting. Lastly, my takeaway box was smaller portion, less filled than other places do. Keep in mind, what gets 4.1 on Google gets only a 2.6 on our much more accurate and trustworthy Yelp. Their drive thru is a bonus, but I would have to find a dish here that is actually worthy of eating before I return. Any suggestions? read more

This place is always amazing! I've never had a bad experience here. Their service is fast and friendly. Their food is served hot and tasty, and they always accurately create your adjustments. If you want leftovers, get the large combo smothered with cheese, onion, and chile verde. To make it even better, upgrade the cheese enchilada to a flour cheese enchilada! Their chips and salsa are always delicious! The ambiance is lively and fun! The music is loud, but it's not bad. The space is clean and there are tables and booths to accommodate parties of any size. read more

***UPDATE*** After eating here for many years now it has consistently gone downhill. They got my order wrong and when they brought the correct food it was cold. The cashier asked how my meal was. I replied "My food was actually cold." He said "Why didn't you say something, we could have heated it up." I said "Because no one came to my table to check on me." I don't know what's happened here, but it's just not as good as when they first opened. It will be a long time before I come back. read more

I have never left a review on this app but after using it for 10 years to read reviews La Frontera in fort union left me no choice but to leave a review. I ordered the 2 bean smothered burritos with rice and beans. I have grown up eating LA Frontera. I have been to tons of locations Its usually great. I always get my burritos smothered in cheese and enchilada sauce. What I just received from door Dash is so unbelievable I thought it was a joke. First there is a inch of sauce I'm my bag the container is just.sitting in. I open the container and no rice no beans no enchilada sauce no cheese. 2 burritos sitting in a thick gravy. So disgusting. And mad this cost me 25 bucks. I wish I could have my money back so bad. You guys have terrible reviews and should be closed down and get your food quality ,staff ,and mangers up to at least a B level standard. You guys are failing big time And don't seem to care at all .. I mean 2.7? Wish I would haven't see that before I ordered. I will never order from this location again. read more

Best Mexican food in utah I only go here, best steak fajitas, enchiladas, and chips and salsa. I recommend eating inside as drive thru doesn't package food properly and food often melts together also the food is much better hot. Food tastes good other than the fact that there were literally 4 pebbles/rocks (yes LITERALLY) rocks in our food. At first i wasnt sure but upon closer examination these are literal small rocks. La frontera could easily have a lawsuit on their hands if someone cracked a tooth or suffered other health issues and I wont be back out of fear of HIDDEN ROCKS that are apparently in the food. read more

First time ever eating here and it will be the last. First off the service was spotty the waitress seemed like she was in a hurry to get us in and get us out, took for ever for her to refill our drinks and the food really had no taste to it which was disappointing because it smelt so good when we walked in I was very excited to eat here, I'm very basic and I always get a cheese enchilada and a chicken enchilada, but when I got almost all the way done with the chicken enchilada there was a good size bone in the last little bit of it. I had to force myself to eat the cheese enchilada and that one was better than the chicken enchilada, so I will not be back and I advise if you are going to eat here do so at your own risk! read more

My wife and I went on a date and decided to try La Frontera at 764 E. Fort Union Blvd. in Midvale, Utah. It was dinnertime and not many people were in the restaurant, it was quite for this time of day. We were seated and looked over the menu and decided we would each get the same thing, and the price for what it showed the combination meal to include was an awesome $11.25! The combo meal included a Taco, Tostado, Cheese Enchilada, Chili Verde, burrito, rice and refried beans. The Taco and the Tostado tasted like, and had the texture of refried beans and did not taste like meat/burger at all. Overall they were disgusting. The rest of the food was okay, but nothing to brag about. We received our bill and I immediately noticed a huge price difference, what should have been $22.50 was listed as $29.50! That was our entrees only! We requested a menu to double check and I was correct that it should only have been $22.50 for the two entrees with everything I listed which was included. We brought this to the attention of the server and she argued with us that it was extra for chilli verde - their menu does not say this, it is listed as included with everything else! Rather than be deceived more, or to cause a scene we just said we'd pay what they listed and wouldn't never return. Disappointing price hikes. Like a lot of restaurants the prices seem to be constantly rising, the latest visit put me over the edge for La Frontera. Was told they no longer do refills on chips, there is now a charge. The food is average to slightly above, we would visit about every other week due to a combination of location and quality, never again. It may not seem like a big deal, I get it, but to me it's one of those things that will keep me from ever going back. I was craving for a smothered burrito, so I knew one of the "La" restaurants would have it. La frontera, La fountain, La puente. This was the closest to me! I got the carne Asada smothered burrito with Chile verde and cheese and onions. Side of rice and beans. Overall, it was a full filing meal. The chicken in the Chile verde was dry, the steak was good, but it's cut into very tinychunks. I really like the cheese and onions, it really pulls everything together. The chip and salsa was good, I like how spicy the salsa was and it's complimentary. Overall, I was a happy camper. And it satisfied my cravings! read more

I went in on Sunday and ordered 3 taco meal and a flauta meal. I was a walk in I understood that , it took over 30 minutes. During that time I watched the cook change out a to go order and put it in another order and then handoff to the hostess. I gave them the benefit of doubt... when we got home our basic 3 tacos and flautas meal had charred carne asada inside. I don't know what was happening with the team on this Sunday but something was off. Being charged over $40 plus tip for food that was not edible someone needs to know. read more

The salsa were especially fresh today, and the rellenos were massive, and the best I've had to date. I have loved La Frontera for many many years. This is my favorite location. Some people say it's not authentic Mexican food, but regardless I always love their food. My husband and friends of ours were eating here every Friday night prior to COVID for a very long time. Their chips and salsa are great and spicy. I love their enchilada sauce and rice a ton. They aren't stingy with the chips and salsa. We've had a lot of very attentive servers. When my husband and I went back for the first time after getting our vaccine our server was kind and asked how our friends were because we literally ate here so much. Pricing is fair and I enjoy a variety of their different items from the menu as do my friends and family. read more

To start off with a positive, the service was good. The server was attentive and checked back several times. The food itself, not so much. Rice was dry and tasteless. Beans were a gray mush with a strange spice or seasoning that I cannot identify. I have never tasted refried beans like this in any Mexican restaurant.
