This is one of the most difficult reviews I have ever written because, truth be told, the last thing I want is to have more people standing in front of me waiting to order. I simply feel duty-bound to the owner and staff of Gual Bertos however to sing from the rooftops how glorious their food is. As the reader of this review, perhaps the best thing for you to do would be, instead of visiting this authentic taqueria and spending money (and thereby possibly contributing to the aforementioned queue congestion) you could simply send a thank-you card and a $10 bill to the owners. This way Gual Bertos receives a benefit from my review, yet I am in no way inconvenienced in my quest to conquer yet another Super Nachos. read more

Who would expect a 24 hour taqueria in the middle of suburban Draper? Not me, but I'm glad some friends turned me on to this place while I was in the area for a paragliding event. After that, I had a number of two burrito days thanks to Bertos. The breakfast burrito was huge - stuffed with large quantities of huevos y frijoles y papas y queso. It was easy to skip lunch. The bean and cheese burrito was delicious, even when eaten cold and the tortilla slightly soggy after spending all day in the cooler. When fresh, Bertos knows how to prepare their tortillas. Bertos' shrimp burrito is among the best I've ever had. Generous amounts of large seasoned shrimp fill the tortilla and are surrounded by grilled peppers and onion. I've since forgotten if there was actually any rice in there, although I'm thinking there was. Either way - yum. My only complaint was the complete structural failure which resulted both times I ate the shrimp burrito. The fish burrito was above average, but not as good as the camarones. I'd give Bertos 5 stars except for the lack of pico at the salsa bar. Chips were not readily available either, but that's probably for the best. The house salsa was flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. The mild green salsa was good, but not overly inspiring. Pickled carrots and jalapenos, limes, cilantro and onions round out the salsa bar selection. Bertos rules, and I'll definitely make a point of stopping in the next time I'm in the area. It's close to highway 15 and would make for a fast and easy stop if you're only passing through, and a superior alternative to the strip mall fast food jungle nearby. read more

Good burritos. I reccomend the california with guacomole and sour cream & their red sauce. Another highlight is thier churros! This restaurant is our go-to for all-hours Mexican. We ordered a chicken chimichanga and shrimp Chipotle at 8:30 AM! Working nights, I love having the option of eating dinner at a non-traditional time, and the food was really good and there was a generous amount of each dish. read more

This place is great for when you're looking for food at 2 a.m. and the rest of Utah has shut down as always. It was a bit out of our way, but we didn't mind coming here for the crunchy tacos, Lomita Argentinia, churros, puerco adobado, and carne asada fries. read more

I am addicted to the shredded beef tacos! drowning in BOTH salsa verde and red sauce is the only way to truly enjoy them! I have tried other offerings and they are ok, but I always come back for the tacos. The sides of rice and beans are very good, in fact the best rice from a taco shop I have tried in the valley. Whenever I'm passing through Draper, I confess the same thought always runs through my mind... "am I hungry?" Because if I am, I'll quite often pull off the freeway and pull into Gual Bertos. Specifically, I totally dig their Super Nachos. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but for me it doesn't get much better: Very large portion, home made chips, beans, carne asada, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese... and they don't melt the cheese (which always just turns the plate into a big slab of solidified ooze once it cools). It's comfort food, plain and simple. Messy to eat, but fantastic to savor. I'll admit, there are some times I've gone when the carne asada has too much gristle, and that's really unfortunate -- it keeps me grom giving them five stars. But even with the occasional miss, this place is still one of my favorites. (Even if I would only go with buddies... no way I'd take a foodie with me. :) read more

In most Utah cities we have our share of Mexican dives that end in "tos"... They're all pretty decent, but Gual Bertos really stands out, IMO. The carne asada is a little more flavorful and a little crisper. Their flour tortillas and refried beans are heavenly. The breakfast burritos are might just be the best I've ever had. My favorite is the "mixed", which is made with ham and bacon. If you love seafood and spice, try the Camarones a La Diabla. It'll burn the living... Ummm... You know out of your mouth. It's awesome! I'd like to see the drive-through a little more standardized. Like, give me my total after I order so I can prepare my payment. While you're at it, take my money when I get to the window. It's a lot to deal with to take the food with one hand, pay you with the other, and ask for an extra red sauce while juggling the change you give me all at the same time. But those are minor complaints that are barely worth typing. Ignore them and go to Gual Bertos. I know I'll be there tomorrow, just like I am every Saturday! read more

Finally something resembling SoCal Mexican food! Super nachos, breakfast burrito, and rolled tacos are good. Horchata is made in house and passes the test. Everyone is nice, food is fast. It's the best place in Draper for Mexican food. read more

Living in San Diego for a few years, I became very familiar with the authentic Taco Shops and this one absolutely reminds me of those. Great recipe for "Al Pastor", which in Utah is called "Adobado" -- slow-cooked pork. And the carne asada is tender and flavorful, no gristle! Great Pico de Gallo, too. Rolled Tacos are another favorite and Gual Bertos hooks it up with variations of 3 or 5, with guacamole and cheese. Their Roja salsa is very good, the Verde lacks a little flavor -- typically the more flavorful and less spicy of the two. And they're open late...an excellent source for late-night liquor-soak. read more

I am so glad that this place is near my place of employment, because this place is delicious! Tonight was my first time trying Gual Bertos, and my only regret is that I've waited so long to try it! I ordered the bean & cheese burrito smothered in enchilada sauce, which is displayed in their front window. It was made in absolutely no time, and it was huge. I paid $7 for it, and it was worth every penny. Before consuming my delicious burrito, I stopped at the condiment bar. They offered two different sauces, onions, peppers, carrots, and cilantro. Cilantro makes my lady parts tingle, so I loaded up. Finally, it was time to consume my burrito. After sawing into it with their weak plastic silverware, I finally had my first bite. The enchilada sauce tasted like thanksgiving stuffing, which threw me off at first. After my second bite, I was hooked on the sauce. I don't know why it tastes like stuffing, but it goes perfectly with their amazing refried beans. I cannot say enough good things about this burrito! The service was a tad bit slow upon me entering the establishment, but they were all super nice and helpful. The bathrooms were clean also, which I honestly didn't expect. I understand if you have apprehensions about eating here. It looks like your average run-down Mexican restaurant. However, I have never gotten sick from eating here nor do I know if anyone getting sick from eating here. The menu, the staff, the tv makes you feel like you've been transported south of the border. I wen't here to get a quick bite although it was at 3 am I've been there before around that time and they always produce quality food so i ordered the 5 rolled tacos with guacamole and cheese. I got home and began to eat and as i did I found a pubic hair in one of the tacos also they tasted like they were nuked to death in a microwave. This is my go-to place when I'm craving something late at night. I always get a large horchata and an adobada burrito (which is massive). It is a bit expensive for something you would want to eat at like 2am, but it's pretty good. I always think of it this way, it may be a lot of calories going in, but trust me by tomorrow afternoon, they'll all be out Lol. read more

Solid Mexican food but don't get the Tortas. They're pretty plain and just not very good.

A little spot of heaven has been found in Draper Utah. This is the best fast food 24 hour Mexican joint in the valley. (I've eaten at almost all of them). The cows and pigs they get their meat from must be expensive considering they have to travel to Kolob to slaughter them, but they still manage to keep their prices low! I might die early from a heart attack considering how many times I eat here, and I'm ok with that, years of my life well spent. If you're within a 10 mile radius from this place don't settle for anything else, drive there and eat like the Gods. I would like to meet Gual Berto one day but I don't feel worthy, maybe after some prayer, repentance, and sacrifices I will be worthy to breath the same air as him. I recommend a super breakfast burrito with no potatoes...don't waste your stomach room on potatoes! They make it huge still stuffed with eggs, bacon, ham, steak, and cheese! Also a must is the carnitas taco on a flour tortilla (make sure to ask for flour, none of that corn celiac's disease stuff!) Best carnitas in the state of Utah, possibly the best north of the Mexican frontera, hell it might be better than in Mexico! Get to Guals before it is taken up to heaven just like the city of Enoch. read more

Not really 24 hours. I went to two locations in the early AM hours. The one in Draper and the one down the street in South Jordan. Both places could not take my order as they were cleaning. They did offer to make some nacho's but could do nothing else. Don't plan on being able to get what's on the menu if it's in the early AM. read more

Well, it is Mexican. And it is food. Gonna try and upload a photo of the "shell" part what they call a taco salad. Half the enjoyment of a taco salad for me is the shell. Unfortunately, the soggy, wet, slightly curved tortilla found under the bland chicken, soggy beans, and hint of cheese and lettuce of this "taco salad," have guaranteed I won't be craving a taco, or a salad, from anywhere for quite some time. read more
