The last time I was there, I had 2 friendly and helpful young waitresses. The food is good but the wait for a table can be quite long.

I brought my sister here for a birthday brunch. I was intimidated a little with all the people waiting outside, but we got in pretty quickly. We both had the Big Grumpy Breakfast and it did not disappoint. The pancakes were so fluffy and everything came out fresh and hot. Their fresh squeezed OJ was delicious too. Food and service are always very good. The fresh orange juice is really good. I would go early because it does get crowded at times. My only complaints are that it is a little loud and they keep the temperature chilly inside. It's my "go to" breakfast place in the area. read more

Stopped for breakfast on the way home from Amelia Island. Very very busy but considering, wait was not bad at all, 15 minutes. Excellent service that was quick and friendly. I had the seafood omelette and it was delicious and a decent price. The back of the house team really runs a well oiled machine to churn out great food so quickly despite the volume of people. It was absolutely packed and they never stopped coming so clearly they have earned a following that they deserve. read more

Let me start by saying that I really like Grumpy's and I do not think this location is indicative of all the great meals I have had at the Orange Park, FL location. We stopped in today for a late breakfast and were seated on the porch immediately. However, we were then greeted with server by committee which is a little frustrating. I ordered the Grumpy's big breakfast (2 eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and pancakes) and my wife ordered the seafood omelette with home fries and sourdough toast (hollandaise on the side). On my order, I got home fries instead of hash browns. I would have told someone but I could not find my server so I just ate them. I also to get up and find my own condiments. Our glasses were not filled promptly most of the time but they did offer a to go cup as needed. While I was waiting to leave, a member of the kitche staff shoved past our table to use a side exit and in the process shoved and moved chairs for our table while I was seated there. Still really like Grumpy's but I am glad that I will be able to go to the Orange Park location as opposed to this one. read more

Avocado, Bacon, Egg, Breakfast Sandwich - 5/5 Great breakfast, no complaints. Pancakes: 4/5 - These are huge! So big they can be slightly undercooked in spots. First time visiting Grumpy's. We arrived around 9:30 on a Monday hoping to miss the rush and we did. Seated by a friendly girl (Kara I think I heard someone call her?) as soon as we walked in the door. I had the fried green tomato benedict with hash browns and my daughter had a huge waffle with blueberries, strawberries and whipped cream as well as hash browns. Everything was delicious and I could only eat half of mine. When our server (Brenda) tried to hand me the check I said "My daughter is treating me to a birthday breakfast." She wished me a happy birthday and a few minutes later some of the staff came out with a big Danish covered in icing with a candle in it and sang happy birthday to me. read more

Is six stars an option? This is my new favorite place. The whole atmosphere is super fun and cute. It's a little busy but that's because there's not many breakfast options in the area. The food was incredible. Portions are HUGE. We barely made a dent in our plates and were stuffed full. I did the Greek omelette with home fries, rye toast, and a side of avocado. My husband did the cinnamon roll pancakes (2). Service was great as well. The waiter was awesome and he asked me about hot sauce immediately. Then he offered options. Wow! Breakfast was wonderful! The eggs cooked to perfection. Bacon was crispy, just like I like. Everything else was superb. Service was excellent. Well me my brother and Mom went on 8/28/25 and it's my brothers first time there. Me and mom have been there several time breakfast and lunch and it was great. But this visit food was still very good. I ordered an omelette and they made it the way I like it and mom & brother ordered the Patty-melt moms comes out perfect me-dwell and my brother ordered a medium. It took them four tries before they got it right to the temperature. Not sure if the guy was a manager but after the 3rd attempt he comes to the table and said we tried 3 times couldn't get it right so he said we will be taking it off the bill. Then the waitress came over and said the owner said remake it and that's when it was right but never seen a manager or the owner. Once I received the bill the item was still on the receipt I asked the waitress if they were taking it off waitress said let me go ask she came back and said we made it he ate it so you pay for it. That's what the owner or manager said, which p---ed me off very very much as a former restaurant manager I would never and I mean never would have charged the customer for that Patty met. I took my family here while in town visiting relatives. I ordered the bacon mushrooms Swiss cheese burger medium and they forgot to put bacon on it and cooked it well done, the burger including the bun was no bigger than the standard NHL hockey puck, Needless to say it wasn't good and I would say stay away from all burgers there. I guess they use the same spatulas for everything because I had spots of Avocado on my burger. My cousin had ordered Avocado toast and and there wasn't even a scoop of Avocado the size of a quarter on the 2 pieces of toast, they actually cover up not using a lot of Avocado by coving the top with 2 inches of bean sprouts. Also disappointing was she was vegan and no where on the menu did it say the toast came pre buttered. My children both enjoyed their meals one had cinnamon rile pancakes and the other had chicken fingers. My wife had the Grumpy's BLT which was huge and she enjoyed it very much. We also split a order of their award winning crab cakes and I don't know who gave them that award but pass on the crab cakes. If you go to Grumpy's stick to Breakfast! read more

We stopped by before leaving our vacation on the island. Saturday mornings anywhere are always busy but I think the staff did an amazing job serving us and tending to our table with refills, suggestions and fast service regardless of the busyness. They were amazing! For the ambiance I would give it 4 stars just bc, since it was busy and we were sitting inside, it was a bit loud. However, it was still very nice inside. For the food, it was amazing as well! The waffles were fluffy and soft and the eggs were done just right. They also had fresh squeezed orange juice which was delicious! Worth the wait time... which was about 30 min. They have coffee and fruit infused water for free for waiting guest. The host stand host were very nice. It's small inside but it's very clean and sleek. They serve breakfast brunch and lunch. So let me get right into it. The bacon is fresh and crispy. The pancakes are big and fluffy and good. The sausage links are good. The eggs are fluffy and cheesy. I wouldn't do the great they weren't so great the home fries are a great portioning season very well, comes out very hot and last, but not least the orange juice. It is freshly squeezed, sweet and very delicious. They use the nugget ice which is a plus I love nugget ice it was so good. I have no complaints. I did order fried green tomatoes and crabcakes ago so I'm going to try those and do a different review on that. Otherwise our breakfast experience first experience was great. read more

There was about a half hour wait at 11 am for our party of ten, the wait staff was really efficient! The food was great, fluffy pancakes, eggs made perfectly to order and the servings were large. The restaurant was clean, we had two waitresses and they both worked together, we did not feel rushed. We will definitely return. Outdoors there are games to play while you wait, Jenga, corn hole and that kept the kids busy. read more

Food is good, price is fair (in this economy), our service was not up to par. We promptly got seated and ordered, once the coffee was dropped off it seemed our server just abandoned us, my wife asked for some hot sauce which never came. And we finished eating and had to ask the host stand for our bill. Mind you this was 8am on a weekday. Anyways the servers attitude was poor, seems she couldn't care less about our preferences and if we actually were content with what we ordered.
