Is six stars an option? This is my new favorite place. The whole atmosphere is super fun and cute. It's a little busy but that's because there's not many breakfast options in the area. The food was incredible. Portions are HUGE. We barely made a dent in our plates and were stuffed full. I did the Greek omelette with home fries, rye toast, and a side of avocado. My husband did the cinnamon roll pancakes (2). Service was great as well. The waiter was awesome and he asked me about hot sauce immediately. Then he offered options. That's why I want to give a sixth star. I love my hot sauce. read more

I was so excited for this restaurant to open. There is not a decent breakfast place in Nassau county until you get to Fernandina..... and there still isn't. I don't get all the reviews talking about the great food everything was bland. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was the coffee, it was maple pecan or something like that and was some of the best brewed coffee I have ever had. My wife had a create your own omelet that came with toast my wife asked if she could get a pancake and pay an upcharge which we could and the server insisted we call a sub 1. The omelet had no flavor, some of the toppings were cooked in with the eggs instead of layered inside with the meat and cheese. Her "sub 1" did not come with her food. The server stated first that the cook didn't see it and was making it fresh, then he burned it so he was making another one. By the time she got hers, she had eaten some of mine and decided she did not want hers, which turned out fine because the server told us they were not charging her the upcharge. I opted for the hamburger steak breakfast. I also had the "sub 1". My eggs were OK, I just really think it is hard to mess up over medium eggs. None of my food seemed to have any seasoning. The hamburger tasted like just ground beef patted out and put on the grill, they had A-1 so I was able to doctor it up a bit, I will say it was cooked properly just had no flavor. The grits appeared to be just water and grits, cooked not instant, but no salt, pepper, bacon grease, nothing to add flavor. I paid extra to add cheese and it wasn't helpful. The sub 1 pancake was not good at all, very dry and was overcooked but after the fiasco with my wife's pancake we were not willing send mine back. I was really disappointed with this experience, having a local sit down breakfast place close to home was really a big deal to me. I will not be back. read more

Well me my brother and Mom went on 8/28/25 and it's my brothers first time there. Me and mom have been there several time breakfast and lunch and it was great. But this visit food was still very good. I ordered an omelette and they made it the way I like it and mom & brother ordered the Patty-melt moms comes out perfect me-dwell and my brother ordered a medium. It took them four tries before they got it right to the temperature. Not sure if the guy was a manager but after the 3rd attempt he comes to the table and said we tried 3 times couldn't get it right so he said we will be taking it off the bill. Then the waitress came over and said the owner said remake it and that's when it was right but never seen a manager or the owner. Once I received the bill the item was still on the receipt I asked the waitress if they were taking it off waitress said let me go ask she came back and said we made it he ate it so you pay for it. That's what the owner or manager said, which p---ed me off very very much as a former restaurant manager I would never and I mean never would have charged the customer for that Patty met. Ridiculous will not be back just because of that!!!food was good though service was good the way they handle it sucked. read more

Wow! Breakfast was wonderful! The eggs cooked to perfection. Bacon was crispy, just like I like. Everything else was superb. Service was excellent. You can't go without a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. I could drink that all day! There is a small town diner ambiance in the restaurant. There is usually a 10-15 minute wait for a table.. I took my family here while in town visiting relatives. I ordered the bacon mushrooms Swiss cheese burger medium and they forgot to put bacon on it and cooked it well done, the burger including the bun was no bigger than the standard NHL hockey puck, Needless to say it wasn't good and I would say stay away from all burgers there. I guess they use the same spatulas for everything because I had spots of Avocado on my burger. My cousin had ordered Avocado toast and and there wasn't even a scoop of Avocado the size of a quarter on the 2 pieces of toast, they actually cover up not using a lot of Avocado by coving the top with 2 inches of bean sprouts. Also disappointing was she was vegan and no where on the menu did it say the toast came pre buttered. My children both enjoyed their meals one had cinnamon rile pancakes and the other had chicken fingers. My wife had the Grumpy's BLT which was huge and she enjoyed it very much. We also split a order of their award winning crab cakes and I don't know who gave them that award but pass on the crab cakes. If you go to Grumpy's stick to Breakfast! read more

We stopped by before leaving our vacation on the island. Saturday mornings anywhere are always busy but I think the staff did an amazing job serving us and tending to our table with refills, suggestions and fast service regardless of the busyness. They were amazing! For the ambiance I would give it 4 stars just bc, since it was busy and we were sitting inside, it was a bit loud. However, it was still very nice inside. For the food, it was amazing as well! The waffles were fluffy and soft and the eggs were done just right. They also had fresh squeezed orange juice which was delicious! Fresh squeezed orange juice is very rare to find at a restaurant. Overall - it was delicious. I will definitely come back next time! read more

Worth the wait time... which was about 30 min. They have coffee and fruit infused water for free for waiting guest. The host stand host were very nice. It's small inside but it's very clean and sleek. They serve breakfast brunch and lunch. So let me get right into it. The bacon is fresh and crispy. The pancakes are big and fluffy and good. The sausage links are good. The eggs are fluffy and cheesy. I wouldn't do the great they weren't so great the home fries are a great portioning season very well, comes out very hot and last, but not least the orange juice. It is freshly squeezed, sweet and very delicious. They use the nugget ice which is a plus I love nugget ice it was so good. I have no complaints. I did order fried green tomatoes and crabcakes ago so I'm going to try those and do a different review on that. Otherwise our breakfast experience first experience was great. read more

There was about a half hour wait at 11 am for our party of ten, the wait staff was really efficient! The food was great, fluffy pancakes, eggs made perfectly to order and the servings were large. The restaurant was clean, we had two waitresses and they both worked together, we did not feel rushed. We will definitely return. Outdoors there are games to play while you wait, Jenga, corn hole and that kept the kids busy. read more

We promptly got seated and ordered, once the coffee was dropped off it seemed our server just abandoned us, my wife asked for some hot sauce which never came. And we finished eating and had to ask the host stand for our bill. Mind you this was 8am on a weekday. Anyways the servers attitude was poor, seems she couldn't care less about our preferences and if we actually were content with what we ordered. Visiting our son and he was excited to bring us to Grumpy's. The waiting line was crazy long at 1pm, that must tell you something! They had games, coffee and fruit infused water available while you waited. Their portions were HUGE! We decided on Eggs Benedict with Chicken. 2 of us could have shared 1 order!!! Food was great! Service was great. My complaint concerns the metal seats on the patio. They were quite small and I think they were carefully designed so that the frame would press on either side of your buttocks so you wouldn't stay too long. As I said they were small and I always felt like I was not properly supported. I am a tall guy but anybody who's the slightest overweight is going to feel their buttocks pressed. Would not return as I was uncomfortable the entire meal. Is $12 reasonable for 1 Belgium waffle? I do not know myself. read more

I have been there for breakfast and lunch. As they continue to work out the kinks of opening, the food was delicious. Not impressed. Ordered the Benedict with potatoes and added onion. the english muffin was barely grilled which changed the texture and taste. The potatoes were not fresh tasting and onions I added were an after thought and didn't taste like the were cooked together. One egg was poached too much and not enough sauce overall. The Orange Park location I visited before adding new restaurants was always awesome. On a positive side the service was excellent and the restaurant was nice and clean. read more

Went on a slow Tuesday for late breakfast, 10 am. Order the fresh lump crab Eggs Benedict. Not lump crab as stated on the menu but, some horrible out of the box bread cake.
