After 26 years, we just could not keep our shower looking clean. There was buildup of soap in the grout lines, erosion of grout and the white tile just wasn't all that white anymore. When we moved into our new home in San Elijo Hills, our tile floors were our major concern. In fact, they were almost a deal breaker! Discolored grout is something we really do not like. We had once thought that grout discoloration was inevitable but we had some experience with paint/staining grout and thought it might be a good thing to consider. We called several grout specialists but all were just franchise folk who use proprietary products that would only seal and not fully protect the grout from staining. Plus, it had to be done often! When I called Grout Pro and explained our situation ( I.e., tile floors in all rooms except bedrooms and even in the outdoor room!) Charlie suggested that we paint/seal the grout. Finally, someone who gets it! Charlie and his wife came and did the entire house including bathrooms. They did a fantastic job and their work has held up over the 6 months we have lived there. They even sealed all of our granite counters and back splashes. We have had Grout Pro do other new tile areas since our initial work. By the way, their work lasts so that you do not have to reseal often. We are not as afraid to have tile floors now that we are able to use the services of Grout Pro. Although he didn't have many reviews, they were all five stars so hiring him seemed like a good gamble. He showed up right on time, was extremely polite and professional with my wife and wrapped up the work at the promised time. He honored his estimate and gave us a good price on some additional work in the same bathroom. His workmanship was top-notch - no tile damage and really clean caulking seams around all borders. Occasionally you get really lucky and find a true craftsman who is fast, efficient and takes real pride in his work. Charlie is one of those. He got our business because he listened well, had competitive pricing and, unlike his competitors, does all of the work himself. So the guy you talk to for the estimate is the guy who actually does the work. An what fine work he did! He showed up on time, and while all of his work was impressive, I was particularly impressed with the color matching on the grout he replaced. We had Charlie up to clean over 750sqft of travertine tile and grout. A large job to say the least. We were highly impressed with the work done. We have had other quotes much higher that didn't guarantee the outcome. After we received what we considered a very good quote, we scheduled an appointment for the work to be done. It was going to take 2 days because of the size and because the grout had to dry before being sealed. Our floors were scrubbed and the grout scrubbed with a brush by HAND! Once complete, we waited for it to dry then a stain sealer was applied to give it that New look and it looked NEW! That took most of day 1. The next day Charlie showed up exactly when se said he would and sealed the grout with a clear sealer. Our floors didn't look this good the day we moved into the new house. What a difference! You wont be disappointed by the job GroutPro does. We will have him back in a few years or 6 when it needs it again. read more
