I cannot recommend De La Torre enough! I needed a few projects in my bathrooms done (including demo and replacement of the front of my shower bench) as well as replacement of a shower cartridge to repair a leak in my second bathroom plus re-caulking around the tub. Oscar was great to work us into his schedule on a small job (40 sqft bathroom) that may have had to wait up to 4 weeks for the big box store where we purchased all the parts to do. He installed new 100% waterproof click-lock marble look flooring that replaced 15 year old wood-look flooring damaged by too much water from a tub shower. He laid an awesome "brick pattern" using 2' x 1' vinyl floor tiles, and eliminated the need for any molding along the tub edge! Oscar is the best contractor we have hired to date! We bought a house with a 1988 kitchen that desperately needed to be updated. Long story but we found Oscar after the guy who originally bid our kitchen tile back splash bailed on us - basically, original guy reinforced all the negative stereotypes of contractors. I asked Arizona Tile who they recommend to install their tiles. He was one of the 5 names I received and I contacted 3 of them. He responded to my voice mail the next day by text. He then asked me to text him a photo of the tile we would be using as well as the space that we needed tile. I sent him the photos at 8:30ish on a Monday morning and had a bid by 4:20 that afternoon. It was a very fair price. He put me on his schedule for that coming Friday (all other contractors were at least 2-3 weeks out.) Because of my bad experience with first contractor, I started to worry that perhaps his availability and very reasonable and fair price meant he wasn't very good as he wasn't in demand. I needed not to worry! Oscar is the opposite of those negative contractor stereotypes and I think I just lucked out that he had a hole in his schedule that my small job fit into. He showed up at 8:15 am on Friday (told us he would arrive between 8-8:30. My boyfriend who was home to oversee the project immediately took a liking to Oscar and trusted him (my boyfriend generally distrusts ALL contractors). Oscar and his crew not only expertly and beautifully installed our back splash but he did it efficiently as well! He continued to impress us when he and his crew cleaned up their mess before they left (I have learned that not all of them do.) Oscar is an excellent tile craftsman, great communicator (rare in the contractor world), and his customer service and people skills are awesome too. As soon as we decide on the design, we are hiring Oscar to redo our fireplace surround - he is the first contractor we are hiring to do more than one job in our house.
