I'm just at the begining stage of having Alejandro and his team do a small tile repair job in a rental of mine, But, I wanted to stay on top of my review of his work and overall business practices. My main motivation for this pre-mature review, is that I frequently procrastinate when it comes time to sit down and write a complete and thorough review. It's best done immediately after a vendor satisfies our contract, has cleaned up the jobsite, has vacated the premises, and has moved on to his next client (easier said then done). When one project ends, I'm usually knee deep in planning the next project, lose track of time, and before I know it, six months has elaped since that project was completed. At that point, I have little or no memory of my success or failure in choosing a qualified, trustworthy and easy to work with partner to assist me with things I best not do. So, I don't even try to rattle my memory, write a half baked, inaccurate and completely useless review. Then, I get angry because I've robbed all the users of yelp of the ability to sit down, study then memorize and file in long term memory another one of my very well thought out, detailed, accurate, honest, with no punches thrown, and no vendetta excellent reviews (I'm just joking! We recently had our large telescope fall onto our kitchen tile and left two big holes all the way to the cement. Rayo Tile and Design came out on Saturday (on time ... which is extremely important to me!) and finished the job quickly and efficiently. You would never know that there was any damage. Start to finish they did an outstanding job. Their price was the same as the other 5 estimates I got but the professionalism, craftsmanship, quality materials and attention to every detail was outstanding. When the job was finished and I had already paid them, the owner found a tiny chip in a trim piece that I didn't even notice. We recently hired Rayo Tile and Design to do the tile work on our project to modernize and refresh our house in Poway. Alex, his father and the team did the demo and installation of new tile in our kitchen, two bathrooms and two fireplace surrounds. The tile work we requested was demanding and required excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. Alex and his team spent time with us prior to starting each phase of work to make sure the layout and installation was exactly what we wanted. The kitchen backsplash was in a difficult herringbone pattern that included mitering corners to tile into recessed window openings. Our small powder bathroom included installing difficult to work with glass tile in a large niche and around a floating vanity. The other bath involved flooring, subway tile in a tub and shower area and installing 30" X 40" large format tiles on a feature wall with near invisible grout joint lines. The fireplaces required a thoughtful layout to balance the tile for the space available so that there were no odd sized or small pieces to throw off the look. Alex was good a good communicator throughout the process. They started and finished the project exactly on the schedule they promised and the price was fair. We are very happy with the work they did and the positive experience we had. I would not hesitate to hire them again or recommend them to neighbors and friends. read more
