First let me describe the scene, my mother was a hoarder, and she was living with another hoarder in a two-story townhouse. When she was unable to live alone, we needed to sell the house and move her closer to me. Once everything was removed the house was filthy. I mean absolutely disgusting, like to the point that even taking a shower didn't make you feel clean. This is when I decided I need professional help cleaning the house before putting it on the market. I reached out to Mari and her team from Rancho Bernardo Maids to assist and I can honestly say this was the best decision I have since returning to Poway. Mari was my contact person and was able to answer any and all questions I had. She was the nicest person and very professional. She was able to come by and look over the house and give me several quotes for different amounts of work to ensure that I could stay within my budget. Their level of cleaning was beyond anything I originally imagined even for the deep cleaning. They moved the fridge, stove and cleaned under all the appliances. Every nook and cranny were nice and clean, so I felt safe to cook in the kitchen again. The bedrooms were dusted, wiped and vacuumed. The bathrooms scrubbed and sanitized and they even put a little heart sticker on the toilet paper (it was freaking adorable). I had family visitng for a week and needed my house to be cleaned before they got here. I tried cleaning it myself, but find myself overwhelmed a lot. I called "The Maids of San Diego" to see if they could fit me in that same week. They were able to schedule me for the exact day I was hoping. I moved in my house a year ago, the service who did the "move in" cleaning didn't do as good of a job and there wasn't any furniture in the house to deal with. I will say, we don't keep messy houses per say, but each time Maids of San Diego have done such a great job, we walk in and say Wow. I have had Rancho Bernardo Maids twice, two weeks apart. They have done an incredible job. I was looking for a local company, not an individual and not a franchise, bonded and insured, and working in teams, and I'm excited to say I found the perfect company in Rancho Bernardo Maids. Mari Atempa, the owner, is fabulously accommodating, always making sure the customer is happy. Really! Everything from the exact time of arrival to the shine on wood furniture, to which rooms will be cleaned. She came to my house in addition to the team to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction, though I doubt that's always the case (I had some concerns). She told me the same team would come every time, and so far, they have. I asked if everyone spoke English, and she said the team leader always does, and Andrea is great, no issues. The house is truly clean afterward, way, way better than I can make it. It smells wonderful for days afterward. My husband commented that it smelled clean without that antiseptic smell. They also send reminders -- just in case you forgot. I recommend Rancho Bernardo Maids extremely highly! read more

UPDATE 2/27: I am changing my review from 1 star to 3. Mari reached out to me today to apologize for no show on Monday. Her apology felt sincere and her explanation of a super busy day and phone left at home leads me to change my rating. We all make mistakes. Disappointing LACK of communication In a nutshell ...I sent online request for quote (either via yelp or google) for an ASAP appt due to move-in clean needed (home was not as clean as promised by landlord). Stated in my online request that I was looking for next day service so that I could complete move. Received an email response at 10pm (fantastic!) stating approximate price and that they were available from noon-2pm. I responded at 4am (when I saw the email) that noon was PERFECT and that I would see them then ...I confirmed the address and my cell phone number in response email.   Later in the morning I tried to call to confirm details for cleaning, but received a voicemail stating that I had reached San Diego Maids (appears they use both Rancho Bernardo Maids and San Diego Maids). I left a message asking for return call, but no call was received. I assumed they were working and unable to return call, besides I would see them shortly, right!? WRONG!! I left work to meet them at noon BUT they did not show. I called the number provided, still no answer. I texted, no answer!! I am so upset!! A day WASTED! I cannot set up another team/company for today! What a fiasko!! UPDATE: While there was a significant part of me that thought MAYBE there was a reason for the no show, the fact is that I have STILL not heard back from anyone at this company in response to my multiple VMs, email or text messages to explain what happened!! Up side, I went with Maid Express out of Escondido and they did a fantastic job!! read more
