Fisher and a 2nd company were about the same price and a third was almost twice. Based on their positive reviews, their promptness in getting back, and their quote, we went with Fisher. The entire process was flawless - as good as one could imagine. They came to make the measurement, determined the tint of the other windows to insure a match, and installed a replacement within ten days of taking the measurements. Rick and his co-worker were a pleasure to deal with, as was the office, that kept us aprised of the schedule. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had for a home repair/service company. Lots has happened in life since June 2010 and my first review of BBG but one thing remains the same: Bryan Bauer Glass is second to none and even better than they were in 2010. We moved into a new place, had a ton of stuff done, and needed some shower help. My husband and our contractor made it VERY clear to not use an "off the shelf" Home Depot shower door setup for my standard shower doors. So, Yelp to the rescue ... we had Bryan out again seven years after our first experience with him. My shower was a slam-dunk ... alcove style, oil rubbed bronze, and I kid you not: BBG had it ordered and installed within a few days of coming out. It's amazing and perfect. Husband's shower grande needed a custom order, but much to my dismay, Bryan saw that not only was his shower curb thingy flat, it was actually tilting toward the floor, a big no-no for showers. Bryan advised us to have our contractor fix the slope properly before he could install it. I tried and tried to talk him out of it, but Bryan didn't want to install with the curb thing going toward the bathroom floor instead of the shower drain. As much as I fought him and imagined major reworking of the beautiful tile, it made sense to fix it and our contractor made quick work of it. (As an aside, Bryan is SUCH an amazing guy that he jumped in and sawed off a row of tile when a prima-donna installer from Best Buy came out and stopped his install of a microwave ... I always put things off because I though a frameless shower door was crazy expensive. I contacted them thru the website and gave them the dimensions of my opening. They sent back list of multiple options, framed, frameless, top hung with rollers with prices of each. I was surprised that frameless was just a little more than with a frame! I mean who wouldn't do that. To my surprise the most expensive option was the top hung with rollers, it looked more high tech but also reminded me of a frame so I went with the frameless as I had planned. They came out to measure and within a few weeks installed it. It looks so much better! I wish I had done it years ago. They were quick efficient, friendly and affordable. Within 2.5 years, the top hinge began failing, screws were visibly pulling out from the wall plate, and the door started hitting the adjacent glass panel. I reported the issue while the hinge was still under the manufacturer's 3-year warranty. Instead of replacing it, the installer adjusted the glass position and left the clearly failing hinge untouched. A year later, now 7 months past the warranty period, the same issue occurred again. I contacted the installer with updated photos, measurements, and the original quote, which he no longer had on file. He acknowledged the hinge should be replaced but said it would now cost me $150 since the warranty had expired, even though I had reported the problem well before it did. After reviewing the original quote from the manufacturer, I discovered that the hinges installed were not the ones listed in the approved order. They were a different model entirely. This likely explains why he had no record of the order, why the hinge wasn't under warranty, and why it failed prematurely. It also explains why he already had a matching replacement hinge in his possession, as seen in a photo he texted me. When I asked why the hinge hadn't been replaced within the warranty period, his response was: "Frankly, I don't feel the vibe to assist anymore." I replied: "I was simply looking for some clarification before paying for the replacement. I was having trouble understanding your previous message. There was no animosity intended." I received no response. When I followed up again to express my safety concerns and disappointment, I was told: "Bye for good." That was the last communication. I was never rude or confrontational, just a customer trying to get a clearly defective hinge addressed. Now I'm stuck hiring another contractor to replace it, and I'm left feeling taken advantage of. This is a heavy glass panel, if it falls, it could cause serious harm. I truly wanted to support a small business and give the benefit of the doubt, but I would not recommend Steve's business based on my experience.
