We were interested in refreshing our…read morefireplace in our modern home and had always dreamed of having a black marble fireplace instead of just white drywall. I Yelped and found Del Mar Tile and Stone and checked out photos and crossreferenced everything. He had stellar reviews everywhere. John the owner came out within a day or two (on a Sunday!) to look at the project and gave me a quote the next day. The project involved tiling on the fireplace surround and also into a cutout for our TV and the vent for the fireplace above. The quote was fair for the amount of work involved and I thought, hey if he's already there maybe get him to re-do tile in one of our bathrooms (a much smaller project)? I texted him a video and measurements of the space prior to him working on the space and he was able to quote the bathroom without coming back! Super cool. The quality of work is amazing. I am a detail-oriented, visual person and with the beautiful black marble with white veining that we chose (with a fluted pattern!) I wanted to be particular with what tiles we should use and which we should not. He was more than accommodating and we have a beautiful, beautiful fireplace now and a gorgeous bathroom. Not everybody could do this job. It was technical as a fireplace surround. The tile contractor had to use the right mortar and he had to level it out just right. As we homeowners know, rarely is your house completely true and flat and square everywhere and the tile had to be done to accommodate all of the imperfections in our visually perfect house. The corners and leveling had to be perfect. He had to carve into drywall to make the corner of the fireplace square. It was crazy and it would have taken me decades of experience to do this myself (enter John). The cutouts for the fireplace and the TV surround had to be perfect. The bathroom turned out flawless as well. John is an awesome person and was so kind and courteous to our pets (he told my dog Thatcher she was beautiful) and was respectful of other contractors we were having at the house at the same time. His son Hunter and his other employee Carlos who worked with him were conscientious, clean, and all three were just all around good people. Please see photos! They do not do the fireplace justice!

We had a project that took our extra bedroom back from the awful job the previous owners did. Everything was so smooth and stress free. Corey made sure we knew every step of the job was communicated to us. The team arrived on time and ready to work every day of the job. We used them again for to replace all our hallway and bathroom doors and flooring in each bedroom. Their attention to detail is excellent and when anything concerns arose, Corey was on there to make sure we were satisfied and happy with the results. I cannot say enough kind words on the job that JMM did and how professional and reliable they are. It is so nice to find a contractor that understands our needs and works with us to make sure everything is done right, on time, and affordable. Thank you Corey and your Team for the excellent jobs done with our home.

JMM did a fantastic job remodeling our bathroom…read more This was our first construction project and choosing a contractor who is willing to walk us through each phase was important. JMM excelled in the "first-time remodel project" experience. I worked mainly with project manager, Corey. He visited both the plumbing and tile store to pick out the products. The partners he worked with were both professional and non pushy. We especially enjoyed working with Jenna at Ferguson. As you can see in the photos, we LOVE our new bathroom. The crew all showed up with smile on their face and very respectful. I would recommend JMM for any remodel project.

We only had a one week window from the day we closed until our movers were scheduled to arrive because our short term lease was up, which was really stressful. We needed over 3k sq foot of flooring installed and Nabil and his team did an amazing job. Not only were they able to get all the flooring installed but also all of the last minute requests that I came up with, such as, painting the entire interior of the house, installing new electrical outlets, hanging TVs etc. Nabil was very patient with me and was fair on pricing. After such a great experience we decided to hire Nabil again to remodel our master bathroom and build me a one of a kind detached home office. Once again he and his team exceeded my expectations and accommodated all of my changes and additions along the way. By the end, he completely renovated the entire master suite and he even built a gorgeous deck off the side of my office. Due to Covid related impacts to the global supply chain we encountered many challenges when it came to sourcing materials. Nabil and Shannon were there to help us navigate, pivot and find alternatives at every obstacle. Were there snags and unexpected delays along the way? Sure, but they were due to the manufacturing/sourcing delays and without Nabil's help it would have been far worse. Some of the delays actually ended up being a blessing in disguise because Nabil helped us find alternative products that we ended up loving even more than our original choices! I have worked with many contractors throughout my life and when you find someone that you can trust to do things right, with high quality workmanship and pride in what they do, it's worth every penny. I sleep well knowing everything was done to code and it looks amazing.

Five Stars for Vejars Design & Build!…read more Vejars Design & Build completely exceeded my expectations. We had sudden water damage from a broken shower valve inside the wall, and our homeowners insurance placed us in a hotel while repairs were underway. I was prepared for a long, stressful process, but Vejars proved me wrong in the best way. They had us back home in less than four weeks, which is incredible given the extent of the damage. Their team worked quickly, efficiently, and with impressive attention to detail. Every day the workspace was clean, organized, and free of debris--they even hauled away all the scraps without us having to ask. The craftsmanship is top-notch. My new bathroom looks amazing, and you can tell they take pride in delivering high‑quality work. From start to finish, the communication, professionalism, and overall experience were outstanding. If you need repairs or a remodel done right, Vejars Design & Build is the team to trust. I absolutely love my new bathroom!

Steve was recommended by several Qualcommers so I put him on my "call" list. Of the 10 tilers I called Steve was the only one to provide a written estimate for the job. He also handled all materials purchases (tile, cement, grout, underlayment.) And he suggested using a new underlayment material (Ditra by Schluter, a plastic roll-down matrix that gets filled with cement) that saved both time and weight of materials. Steve stayed in close contact throughout the job which took about a week. He smoothly handled a problem with the materials (several boxes of tile were too large by almost 1/4" and had to be replaced.) The results: an excellent tile floor in our new unit, and a firm (Straughn Construction) that I will happily recommend to anyone.
