The restaurant was clean, and the service was good, but the limited menu was a major letdown (no lobster, oxtails or potatoes). My friend's chicken and waffles had tasty chicken with a heavy breading, but the waffle was disappointingly cold. She ordered an extra one. (At the end of the meal they remove it from the bill after she mentioned it). My strawberry French toast looked pretty, but the crumble wafers were an unnecessary addition for me. I also expected a larger portion of toast. The highlight of the meal was the Headliner,which my friend finished the whole dish , she mentioned the delicious glaze on the waffle. We had an interesting and good lunch here. It's set a bit west of the main cluster of other restaurants on the avenue. We were here before the usual rush hour lunch time, so we were able to locate a parking spot right out front. They call their breakfast/lunch menu brunch, but there's more than just morning dishes. There was one item I'd hoped to try, but they no longer have it on their menu (deviled eggs), understandably. We came and sat inside near the bar. There's a huge area on the patio outside for seating, too. And what looks like a dance floor/band area. A gal placed a special fan like contraption on the table next to us to keep the flies away as the place is open to the outside and the covered open air patio. The bartender was our server. We learned they hadn't been open that long -- less than a month. And that he was a newly transplanted New Yorker. They're still working to get a few glitches under control. After browsing the menu, we decided to share a few appetizers. We ordered two items to start -- their fried green tomatoes and their egg rolls. The glitch occurred when after waiting 20 something minutes -- and the kitchen was waiting as well -- the bartender realized he had not actually sent our food order to the kitchen... (ain't technology grand?). Once they got our order, it was a fast turnaround. The fried green tomatoes were in a nice light batter and came with a remoulade sauce. The sauce was not too spicy at all. The collard and smoked turkey egg rolls had a crispy outer shell. The inside was stuffed with collard greens. There was some sweet piquant chili sauce drizzled on top. They were tasty, but I had expected some turkey meat in them as well which they didn't have. Even so, we liked both items. Although full, I wanted to try their lobster bites appetizer from their menu that sounded intriguing. This was a small lobster tail, cut up and battered. The menu said it was topped with a signature seasoning blend -- which was a bit salty. I love lobster in any form so it was still okay. And although my husband and I shared the other dishes, I wound up eating most of this dish myself. It was so refreshing to get some authentic southern cuisine in this area. There are some other brunch entrees -- oxtail, shrimp, catfish -- with grits or that chicken and waffles -- that could easily be a future meal for us. Came here on a Friday night to celebrate a friend's birthday after dinner. Street parking was limited, but there are a few lots just down from the building. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The inside is small and fills up quickly, but there's a good amount of patio space available. When we arrived, there was a sign asking guests to wait to be seated. The hostess seemed reluctant to greet us and told us both areas were full and they weren't seating anyone else. Another hostess was loudly repeating, "We're full, we're not seating," while making dismissive hand gestures. However, we saw several groups leaving, and after pointing this out, the hostess finally agreed to seat us. Thankfully so, since we had driven all the way from West Palm and were already frustrated by the thought of turning around. We were seated at a high-top table, given waters, and shown a QR code for the menu. Unfortunately, the service from that point on was extremely slow. It took over 30 minutes just to place our drink order, and another 30 minutes to receive them, only for two of the drinks to be incorrect and mine to be missing. When we finally got the waitress's attention, she seemed confused and initially insisted the orders were correct. After we reminded her of what we actually ordered, she acknowledged the mistake, removed the drinks, and said she'd return with the correct ones. After another 15 minutes with no follow-up, we decided to leave. Despite the frustrating service, the atmosphere itself was actually great. The DJ was really good, and we loved the energy of the other guests. The vibes were definitely on point, and it looked like people were having a great time. As we left, we spoke with one of the owners and explained what had happened. She acknowledged that our waitress had been struggling and expressed empathy and offered an apology. However, a resolution or incentive to return was not. It's a shame because the menu looked amazing, the ambiance was lively, and the concept has so much potential. But based on how the service and situation were handled, I won't be returning. I wish I could give feedback on the drinks, but we never received the correct ones and didn't feel comfortable drinking what was brought to the table. I was so excited to try this place but was unfortunately disappointed. I went on a Friday night. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn't very busy but when I got seated I waited about 15 minutes before someone came to serve me. I actually had to wave someone down to be attended to. The person who ended up serving me was very nice. The drink I got was soo strong I couldn't finish it. The music was very loud as well. I ordered the shrimp basket and it was ok. First of all, the food was fantastic! Everything we tried for brunch was amazing. The Collard Green Egg Rolls were my favorite. It was nice that the meat inside is turkey and not traditional pork so I could enjoy them. The service was okay, not above and beyond but the staff were nice. The overall ambience is interesting, the decor is a bit random, the location is a little small, but clean. They offer inside and outside seating. Also there is a bar-top seating with television. We had a great brunch here, the catfish was the best I have ever had, perfectly seasoned! We enjoyed our time so much that we spent time inside at the bar afterwards. A group of eight of us went there for brunch recently. We sat outside and thought the experience would be pleasant. However... The food was slow coming out of the kitchen. In fact, one person in our party got his food AFTER the rest of us had finished eating. And it appeared there was not enough waitstaff because not enough attention was paid to requests that were made. For example, I requested another fly fan, as the one in front of me had died out. I never got it. It took a while for me to get orange juice, and I had to request it more than once. There was a 20% service fee automatically attached to our bill. We thought this was the tip, as is the custom with many restaurants when the party is as large as ours was. However, the waitress (in a somewhat unprofessional manner) made it clear to us that this was NOT her tip and that we were expected to tip her in addition to the automatic service charge. Also, we were charged $4 per straw, and this was confirmed by our waitress. *If we'd been told that the straws were $4 each, we would have done without the straws. Food was meh. Mostly fried food, so don't expect healthier servings. The Automatic service fee plus tip for the waitress was unpleasant. I even made a point of telling the waitress that she needed to speak to her manager, as he or she was likely unfairly leaving her out of the service fee scenario. (Waitress told us the service fee was for the cook and bartender, as I recall.). In any event, we won't be back. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but nothing about my experience was good! I ordered the headliner and all I ate was the bacon and 2 shrimp from it. Everything else was basic. My bill was $40 with their automatic 20% service fee charge. Service was SLOW. Prices are fair. I didn't get silverware cuz they couldn't find any. But the bartender was very nice. Would I go back? The food was very flavorful. My sister eggs were cooked too hard, the breading on our catfish was kinda hard and could've been cooked too long for some. The French toast I had was excellent however, they gave us home fries which was definitely not tasty. Let me start with, I wish I had checked YELP BEBORE we stopped there. We stopped there for the Hush Puppies on the Happy Hour menu and they didn't have any. It went downhill from there. We ordered Wings from the Happy Hour menu and we finished the wings before our drinks arrived (and we had to remind server about our drinks). Happy Hour cost of $8 seemed overpriced for 3 flats and 3 drums. We ordered a second app and asked for our bill. Our tab should have been $30+tax but it started at $46 and change + tax. Then it came down to $38 and change plus tax and we asked WHY. They had a "Service and Fees" charge of nearly $8 on the bill. Server had no idea and went to ask. He advised that it was the tip. I had already decided I was going to leave a tip of only 15% based on the mediocre service we had but they decided 25+% was good. By this time I was over it and just paid the bill. Came to visit from Naples with my family and we randomly ended up here. I saw the bad reviews google but figured we'd give it a chance since it's "new." Big mistake. This was one of the worst experiences I've had. The customer service was beyond horrible. The way the servers talked to each other and especially how they talked to us was wild. My family does speak Spanish however we had people to translate. Language barrier or not, the attitude of the server was nasty. Food wasn't worth the price and they snuck gratuity onto the bill without saying a word. Manager gave some weak excuse like "we're new" when I asked to speak to him. No that's not how you handle paying customers. NOT EVEN A SORRY. The hospitality is just not there. Whoever runs this place needs to wake up and fix their staff , service , and over priced menu. .
