But since we were staying in Placerville for a couple nights, I thought I might have to give up some of that healthy eating. Lo and behold... the Placerville Food Co-op!!!! Organic fruits, vegetables, kombucha on tap (and special kombucha from well known brands), gluten free snacks/frozen foods, oat milk, non-dairy ice cream, organic dog foods, food + fresh pressed juiced bar... oh my heavens, I was in love. We even found gluten free brownies and dairy free chocolates from well known out of state brands. And well-priced. Not to mention, we asked for recommendations on gluten free friendly restaurants and the store clerk came back with a list of 15 restaurants! Was not expecting that. Please support this co-op if you are ever in the town of Placerville. Definitely a hidden gem.

Have a little patience and you'll be great. The cashiers were kind especially the older gentleman that helped me out. On my way to a memorial for a cousin who lost their life to cancer: Although we had one lady who cut myself and four people behind me everyone was kind about it. See etiquette for lines is to wait for opening so we don't block the walk way. However Karen wanted to walk through us waiting to cut us. I politely told her maam we are all in line with one item at that and she has a basket not a hand one but a cart you push with tons of items. Her leaving her house last minute to be late does not mean It's ok to cut everyone in line. I went next looked behind me and see she has decided to still cut the others two young teens that didn't want to stick up for themselves I want you to know to next time please don't allow someone to cut you. We are equal now if she's elderly and all let her go ahead yes but when someone is downright stealing your place in line that's okay I got fruit for $6 but it was a little frozen cold so it was a little older tasting but for all of this to be handled well I up'd the stars.

This location is further from me than the new location in town, but I prefer to take the trip to this Broadway store. I appreciated that samples were available upon request, though the shop wasn't really set up to encourage sampling, and the staff seemed quite busy when I visited. Other cheese shops I have been to have a more welcoming sampling experience. There were also crackers, spreads, chocolate and teas available for sale. I was interested in one of the chocolate and mint teas, and was going to purchase, but it was $15, so a little steep in price for me. I did some crackers and two types of cheese. Haven't tried them yet, but looking forward to giving them a taste.

I requested a non-tart pie, and this 10" round of heaven delivered the best pie crust and natural fruit flavor ever. There are pre-made pies ready for bake or already baked pies. If the 10" pies are too large, then go for the pie turnovers. The coconut doesn't come in the 10" size, but there's the turnover.
