Went up to the lady working the deli and asked about ordering tacos. she walked over and flipped the pan around and said "I guess there's some left but I don't know how hot, or fresh it is". Lol, she made it sound so unappetizing I just passed. So skip ahead to one month later, exact same thing happens! I come in at 2:00, ask about tacos. She says almost the same exact thing. Shrugs her shoulders and says "I don't know how warm it is but I can try." This time I call her out on it and let her know I won't bother her no more and I'll get food up the road. This is obviously not her business. If I was the owner of this business I'd be very unhappy that my employee is discouraging customers from purchasing food. Not once, but twice!

I've been through 2 very serious surgeries in the past couple of years and I cannot possibly recommend the entire pharmacy staff enough, especially the head pharmacist Maureen. they are all unbelievably understaffed and overworked, yet.....so amazingly find a way to be accomodating, efficient, and come thru for me when needed. I love being signed up for home delivery of both in-store items or prescriptions! Delivery convenience is such a luxury to have when you are not able to easily get around. And how do they all maintain such a positive friendly outlook when so slammed with work day in and day out unrelenting being short staffed and so overworked? Really heroic examples we could all emulate. Being frugal due to so many medical bills, I find the store prices very reasonable and shop their sales. Some items usually stay out of stock, like my 2% milk not being a grocery store, but there are so many groceries to choose from. There is a grocery store closeby to do a food shop but I seldom can't find what I need in all departments so well stocked while there. Everyone is extremely courteous and kind I wouldn't even consider shopping elsewhere. This review took 11 years in the making.

This review is specific to an experience my husband had this afternoon, around 4:15…read more He was in line at self-checkout, and the man in front of him was buying some beers and burger buns--things for the Superbowl (today). He finishes, then picks up his paper bag by the handles, and the bag breaks. The beers shatter when they hit the ground, and there are glass shards and beer all over the floor. The self-checkout supervisor at the time was with someone who appeared to be a manager (?). Instead of apologizing or offering to help, the manager (or perhaps just entitled fellow employee) turned to the self-checkout employee and said, "Didn't you tell him not to carry the bag by the handles?" And then walks away!! This move was especially egregious because the employee supervising the self-checkout appeared to be someone with special needs! Blaming this employee for the problem was not only absurd, but actually abusive. The customer with the broken bag was left to try to clean up the broken glass himself (!), while my husband stood there pleading to the thin air, "Can someone please help this man?" Honestly, I think we all know Safeway isn't the classiest place to shop, but this experience was revolting. I couldn't find an appropriate place on the Safeway web site to complain about the event, so I'm relegated to using Yelp.

For example, the shredded cheese comes in 2 smaller bags vs the competitor's giant size bags. They also carry a wider variety of items(candy, chips, snacks, clothing) that you can find at a regular retail grocery store. Interesting items I found: whole Mexican papayas, fresh coconut juice in the shell, freshly squeezed orange juice, meat pizza, delicious birthday cake with whipped icing, machine that gives out household samples to name a few. I purchased my membership when it was discounted so watch out for it.

It was my first time at Sam's Club (8/7/26) and I encountered two extremely rude employees. I had a…read morecurbside pick up order but went inside the store to pick up a few groceries in store. When I checked out, I asked my cashier if I could pick up my curbside order in the store instead. She was very friendly and super helpful! She flagged down another employee to double check that this was okay. The employee she flagged down was extremely rude to both the cashier and to me. The cashier even apologized on her behalf to me! I was able to pick up my curbside order thanks to my super nice cashier and the man that helped me was friendly too. When I exited the store with my orders I encountered the rudest employee! She informed me that "I didn't clear and she needed to see receipts." I told her I did have a curbside order in my cart maybe that is why I didn't clear and she told me in a very mean aggressive tone "that is not what I asked you! I need your receipt." She did not specify which receipt (the curbside or in store order) so I just handed her my in store order receipt. She started barking orders at me demanding to see all my groceries. I know this sounds dramatic but I literally felt like she was interrogating me acting like I stole from them. I told her it was my first time in store so I wasn't aware they needed to recheck my receipt like they do at Costco. She just scoffed and told me the groceries didn't clear from the "technology." Trying to make small talk I asked about the technology they use and she just said "I don't know it's AI." I have never encountered such a rude person at any restaurant or grocery store like that! I usually go to Costco and it is way busier than Sam's Club and the folks at the exit are usually really friendly and understanding. Because of those two employees alone, I don't want to renew my membership next year. I'm lucky I got it on a deal and it was only $15.
