WHY is Safeway charging two cents extra, eh? Inside Arco, you'll notice the typical retail snacks and drinks; as an added bonus, there's a not-so-new Mexican Restaurant; the other, fast-food restaurant closed: The Mexican Restaurant took over the old, Schlotzky (spelling?) restaurant's business establishment which its location is in the same building as the Arco Gas Station's Retail Store. BTW: If, you're heading towards Lake Tahoe for Labor Day Weekend, I suggest filling up your vehicle at this Arco Gas Station: 1. Less expensive gas price=$3.09 per gallon-regular 2. Easy access to Arco via Forni Road and Highway 50 3. Quick, accessible, clean bathrooms 4. Get an inexpensive car wash 5. Easy access to Highway 50 from Arco FYI: Across the street or not far from Arco Gas Station are the following businesses: In and Out Burger Office Depot CHP Car Dealerships AND . . . The USDA Forestry Service located at 100 Forni Road, Placerville, CA 95667; 530-622-5061, TTY 530-642-5122, FAX 530-621-5297; office hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30PM; schedule: Monday through Friday, open year-round; however, it's closed during the holidays. Furthermore, obtaining a fire permit or reserving a Federal campsite from the USDA Forestry Service is truly ideal before driving to Lake Tahoe. Literally, Arco's convenient location makes filling up with gas, chowing some quick snacks, chugging down a few drinks, buying office supplies or anything digital, obtaining mandatory fire permits, reserving a cool, Federal campsite, and waving,"Hi!" to CHP's Officer Friendly knocks off the massive "Honey-Do List" completing a plethora of errands quickly and efficiently.

For other Tahoe resorts, we know exactly where we'd generally stop. So we decided, Placerville would be a spot to stop. The Shell was about 20 cents more for some odd reason, so we went to the 76 and although cheaper, the service could be a more friendlier. L O C A T I O N Located right off of 50 on the way to Tahoe. You can't really miss it as there's only two gas stations in Placerville. The Shell which is closer to the freeway and then this 76 which is a little off to the side. S E R V I C E I had noticed the restrooms were outside but were locked and there was a sign that it was only for customers. so I went inside and the service agent was inside. I had asked about the restrooms and he barked at me "only for customers." I pointed to my car outside as we were getting gas. Then he swiftly handed me the key. I think if he would be a little friendlier and nicer, there would be more willingness for folks to go here and potentially buy more items in the convenience store. O V E R A L L It's okay. I saw a lot of folks stop by and end up leaving after seeing the restrooms were only for paying customers. The restroom was clean for the most part. I would likely come back only if we couldn't find any other spot for gas on our way up to Tahoe.

It has a little mini mart, so you can buy snacks, sodas and water. The bathrooms are outside, so you'll have to ask for a key from the clerk. The clerk was very nice. He greeted us and thanked us after paying for our purchases. There is also a KFC right on Canal St when you turn off from 50, so if you're needing food, it's just across the way.

They serve organic coffee and I could really taste the difference. They currently have a seasonal menu and their regular menu included some unique options. The maple latte caught my eye; I ordered it with oat milk and it was one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had. Seriously! It wasn't overpoweringly sweet, but there was enough flavor so it actually tasted like a maple latte instead of a warm milk as many special drinks end up tasting from my experience. It's always disappointing to buy an expensive coffee that doesn't have enough flavor, but you'll get what you pay for here. They offer a few little snacks and there is tons of seating (indoor and outdoor!) with beautiful natural light, art and plants. The baristas were kind and helpful and made beautiful latte art. If you love it as much as I did, you can even buy coffee beans and merchandise as well. It's tucked away in downtown placerville and I would highly recommend Pachamama to everyone!

This particular one is in Placerville, right on touristy Main Street. Well It's actually tucked in a shopping pedestrian alley right off Main Street. The coffee is delicious. I've had their various drip coffees before, all terrific tasting. My usual go to's are their lattes. This time I was in the mood for a seasonal winter drink, wintermint mocha. Yum! I ordered it with oat milk and they don't up charge. The mocha had a smooth, creamy chocolate espresso taste. I even got a pretty design of foamed milk on top of my drink. Aww it was cute. No up charge for that as well and I didn't even ask them to do it Outside the cafe is an outdoor courtyard with bistro tables for folks to sit n enjoy their coffee or whatever. I say whatever because the area is open for all to sit a spell. The courtyard is enclosed with brick buildings around its square perimeter. The buildings provide ample shade and cooling temps in the summer. Plus there is a water fountain that provides a calming zen like sound of trickling water. The cafe also has an indoor seating area. The interior furniture includes tables, sofas, lounge chairs, and high top tables aesthetically giving off modern, minimalist Scandinavian design vibes. Luvin this look.
