What went well? Obviously, I saved $$$! Costco has the lowest price for gas anywhere near me of which I am aware. Earning an extra 5% using the Costco Visa card is sweet too! Considering the large amount of people constantly fueling up, it is very well organized. Having an attendant available at any moment is smart. I have used that assistance once. I was in serious need and... there he was! Thank you! Except for two lanes... all lanes each accommodate 3 vehicles. The long hoses eliminate the worry of which side is "my" gas tank is on :-). And there are red and green lights above the entrances to each lane showing available slots. Genius! I love I can go at night and it is well lit. Have to love the security. Costco Gas...thank you for helping us save a tiny bit of $$$ in a state that definitely charges too much for gasoline. The hotel I'm staying at is near this Costco and I need gas, so I got up like at 5:30am and got dressed and took the rental Suburban gas guzzler over there early so I would have to wait in line. Costco gas is the way to go for the cheapest gas in the area and decent top tier gas too. Plus you get back 5% rebate if you have the Citi Costco credit card which doubles as you membership card as well into Costco. The bad part is all the long lines at every Costco station. The trick is get here early at opening like 6 am! or wait till half hour before closing, cause the station stays open an hour past when the store closes. The lines do move as fast as they can though. It's nice the card tap devices all work super well, not like some of those off brand stations where you have to swipe a bunch of time just to read the card and then you don't know if you got cloned of not. Costco is all safe, even in the dark! I do like the little green and red indicators on the pump island posts that tell you if a pump is available or not. Plus, if you didn't know, the hoses are long enough to reach either side of the vehicle, so no longer are you restricted to going to the side where your gas filler hole is. I only wish they had stuff to clean your windshield as you fill up, but I guess that might slow the lines down. They just changed the software on the pumps so that no receipt is the default, so just finish pumping and put the nozzle back and just go. If you want all the gas purchases are available online at you Costco account. You can even print it there if you need to like for company receipts for reimbursements and stuff. read more

For me, Costco gas is the lowest priced "top tier" quality gas closest to my home. Sure, sometimes it's really busy and some people can behave badly in and around the pumps, but for the price and quality of gas, I will drive a little out of my way and deal with the occasional childish entitled behavior by other customers. The bad behavior has nothing to do with Costco, it just seems to occur when they are busy and the lines are long. Lastly, after learning about the difference between top tier gas and what is not, I will seek out and only use top tier gas. Don't take my word for it, learn about the difference and then Costco gas seems like a logical choice. read more

It's official. I witnessed my first full blown Kevin moment. And don't ya know it, it happened right in the Costco gas station in Folsom, CA. Some may say that's not unusual. Anyone that shops at Costco knows the gas stations are a madhouse. This one is no exception. But a lot of drivers lose their patience and go squirrely maneuvering and line hopping to get to the pumps. I've been skunked 3xs time in the past 4 months getting gas here, all happened when I'm without my husband in the car and all by male drivers. I didn't go into road rage mood and physically confront any of them. But a few weeks ago, a middle aged man did go after a single woman in a mini van with young children in the car. The male driver went all crazy Kevin on her since he perceived her unintentional actions as a personal declaration of aggression on him. He was behind her and still got a pump. She apologized and said she didn't see him. Still he continually blared his horn at her and cursed and screamed at her with her children in the car. She stood her ground and yelled back without a single curse word or disparaging remark unlike him. Class act on her part. Sadly, no one intervened and all were recording on the cell phones. I was two rows away and could hear the dude in my car but not see him. I saw her. The young teenage looking male attendant screamed, from the kiosk, that they both had to leave. I said to myself... "what?". He didn't confront the man at all but yelled at the the woman to ignore him and pump her gas. But the out of control Kevin was the one screaming calling her curse words while standing out of the vehicle glaring her down as she tried to get gas. Sadly no one came to her side to confirm her safety and to reassure her, not even the attendants. The crazy Kevin must have been a big dude if he scared the two male Costco attendants. I couldn't see him from my vantage point. Both the male attendants stayed near the kiosk and didn't venture more than 20 feet out. The tiny woman held her mama bear ground against the male aggressor even without the help of the Costco employees. read more

Well, what can I say? Having a solid gasoline station right off Hwy 50 has never been convenient - most especially for commuters, motorists, and travelers headin' up to the Sierra Nevada! It's a great way to be familiar with the area, since this side of Folsom has all the stores and restaurants and services you'll need for your road trips! I also gotta add that their warehouse seems to have more of the 'classy' and 'nicer' items compared to the other Costco warehouses in the Sacramento metro - guess I'll elaborate more on that on the actual review for the warehouse! I always find myself fuelin' up here, since their prices are consistenly reasonable & quite low compared to the neighboring gas stations in the immediate vicinity! Don't let the long lines deter you, since the time flies!! Patience is a virtue, and what better way to do it AFTER a Costco run, along with that food court munchies that you can devour while waiting in the queues! Best times are always when they open in the wee hours of the morning, or when they're about to close in the evenings! Convenient stop on the way up to ski. Went late enough that they were open, but early enough (on a Monday) to pull right in to the pump. They have those signs that are red if the stall is being used and green if it is open. Pretty convenient and really not too far off of the freeway. I recommend this as a stop on your way up to Tahoe. Or any other stop if convenient. read more

We live nearby and love the convenience and cost savings that Costco gas offers. I usually go during off peak times and am able to get in and out pretty quickly. Most of the customers are respectful and patient but rarely I'll come across an overly aggressive and rude customer. Nonetheless my wife and I come here weekly. read more

Can't beat Costco gas! I love that there are multiple lanes in this location. Note that the lanes on the right have 2 pumps.. and the ones on the left have 3 pumps. The lanes that go the quickest for me are the last two on the right.. because it funnels over the lines are easier to get to. If you don't have any shopping to do, the best exit is the exit to the right. Otherwise you'll have to go through all the cars trying to get in and out which can take a while to exit. read more

Very simple, this is a strategic gas station when heading up to Tahoe or the mountains in general as it is your last stop for cheap gas before the price starts to shoot up. As with most Costco gasoline stops, expect prices to be ten to twenty cents lower than gas stations in the Bay Area. That is obviously the big draw, but the ease of jumping off the freeway to make a quick pit stop in a large and accessible gas station is one hard to ignore. Whenever I'm heading to Tahoe and need to pickup supplies for the trip, I make a stop here for gas. Here is the run down: -Close to the freeway. -Full size station with plenty of pumps. -Gas is cheaper than other Costco gas station in the bay. Keep in mind, they are open at 6AM on Saturday and 7AM on Sunday. The only downside there is no restroom. Only worth stopping if you need to pickup supplies. read more

Currently undergoing a huge remodel, the night we were here, there were only two lanes open and the lines were long, long, LONG! That being said, it is Costco and the gas prices can't be beat. Even with the long lines and the fact they were getting a gas delivery, the attendant still took the time to go around and make sure things were running as smoothly as they could. New-ish Costco on the way heading into South Lake Tahoe, so a great pit stop for gas before heading up the mountain. The gas station here is pretty big, with three pumps per row instead of the usual 2 I've seen at other locations. The gas station itself is located all the way at the back after you turn into Costco, so you have to go through the entire parking lot to get there. Overall, lines weren't bad, even if you come during the day when the warehouse is open (and there was only a dozen or so cars with no line when we came around 8am). We fill-up both our vehicles here about 98% of the time. It's simple, we know we're getting the best price around, it's convenient ( I generally go early in the morning or just before they close to avoid any long lines ). In addition, we have the Costco Amex Card that gives back 3% on all gas purchases, it's a small concession, but makes me feel a little better about all those fuel taxes ! When I do have to fill-up during peek hours, say Saturday afternoon, my wife and I team-up. I'll drop her off to go inside the store and begin shopping, while I wait, usually only about 10 minutes or so, since the line moves fairly quickly, to fill-up. Best price on gas in the area. Great location right off of the freeway. Usually a little busy but they are adding new pumps while I type this. The gas here is worth the costco membership alone! And if you have the Amex card you can get some nice bonuses. I like the added touch of the security measures they take on the credit card reader at the pumps to protect you identity. People of Folsom don't follow the rules there and the lanes are too narrow. When I followed the rules, I was yelled at 3 different times by customers With no intervention from the people who work there. I will never get gas there again. Went by this location at a quarter after 7pm because the hours online show they are open til 8 and they were closed. There were a couple of cars finishing up but cones were blocking the entrance. If the hours are only til 7 then they should reflect that online. Very disappointed read more

This location can get pretty crowded around 5-6PM and on weekends, but I just love how it's detached from the actual Costco, so you can go shopping around, head to the gas station, and leave directly after filling up instead of driving through Costco again toward another exit.
