It's more than just a market. Yes, they have the usual grocery and sundry items, but they also have clothes. Souvenirs. Some hardware items. Fishing and camping gear. They have a decent hot and cold deli, and they also do espresso drinks. I stopped by the deli, and I decided to have the pastrami on provolone with rye bread. It also came with the usual fixings, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and Dijon mustard.. I got my sandwich and took it out front to enjoy the nice day. The sandwich was huge! They were very generous with the pastrami, all of the Fixin's played very well with the pastrami, and I loved that rye bread. The bread didn't hold up to the sandwich perfectly, it was falling apart, just a little bit, but hey. It happens. It was just an absolutely excellent sandwich. I was going to stop at half, but it was so good, I finished the whole thing, and waddled away. The price for this great sandwich and a soda was extremely reasonable. The Mexican place has limited hours. I haven't tried it yet, but when I do, I will write a review. The convenience store and the gas is open 24 hours. There is a post office here, but there is no counter service. It's primarily. P.O. Box and mail pick up by local residents. They do have a 24 hour mail drop, with pick up in the early morning. The convenience store is nice. It's clean, and the people are friendly. I like the decorations in the store. It has your usual. Beer, wine, food, snack, snacks, sundries, and it also has a small hardware section, which a good amount is winter gear. It has a small but nice souvenir section as well. Prices are pretty typical on some items, and then on others, they are a bit higher. I got an amazing beef jerky, and the price was reasonable for what I got They do sell chains in the winter time, but believe me, you are going to pay for them. There's plenty of parking, including truck and RV parking. There's also a popular snow park in the winter time. The elephant in the room, is, of course, the gas prices. You are pretty much in the middle of nowhere, with only a few gas stations in the immediate area, so you are definitely going to pay for gas. The best thing to do is fill up in Sacramento, Auburn, or Reno. The gas in Colfax and Truckee is a bit higher, but still well below what they charge here. I like this store. I will be back. So finally, on my way to Auburn last Saturday, I had time to stop and try some of their amazing food. I was greeted as I walked into this quaint mini market. Everyone was friendly and talking to me. It has been family owned for decades and they made me feel so comfortable, but I was not there to shop around. I was there to try the food goods created by the smoker and whoever does this delicious array of foods. There were many options to choose from in their heated display case. Burgers, breakfast burritos, brisket sandwiches, ribs... I think there were a couple more options, but I couldn't decide on one. So I went with some smoked pork ribs and a brisket sandwich. It was $28 & change. It felt a little on the expensive side for 4 ribs and a sandwich. However... it was damn delicious!! When I got home, I did add a little salt, pepper, & mayo in the brisket sandwich... and then for me, it was fire! The smoked pork ribs were soooo goooood with the dry rub that was on them. Tender and juicy ribs... mmmm! I'm not sure if sauced ones were available, but I really liked these the way they were. I look forward to coming back here to try the other lunch & breakfast items... as well as chatting with everyone that works here!!! I'll be sure to capture more photos next visit!

Evidently the owner had passed the month before we discovered her market. The gal tending to the store was phenomenal and so accommodating! I'm not a fan of premade hot sandwiches and she was great about making me one made-to-order. It took a bit as she was manning two jobs, but wow was it worth it. Brisket sandwich to go take to the cemetery to visit my mom. I really hope they remain open with the same service an true quality of food. The potato salad was also perfect. Not the sweet, sloppy stuff, true homemade fresh potato salad.
