    Fried Red Snapper And Grits
    Helen G.

Overall pretty good with delicious flavors, but did have a bit of higher prices and the food, while fresh, took a while to come out both times I was here. I got the Southern Eggs Benedict and the Fried Red Snapper with grits. The Benedict was delicious!! The biscuit bottom was buttery soft, Hollandaise sauce had a bit of acidity and great flavors, and the bacon was generous and flavorful too. The only thing was the second time I came here, the eggs were basically hard boiled, the yolk was solid which for $16 I was a bit disappointed in. The red snapper and grits were similarly delicious, the fish was beautifully fried until crunchy with a great but not too thick better, and the grits came with a parmesean sauce that really tied the dish together and added that extra flavor. The snapper was not as tender as I wanted but was still very good, the only downside was it was $36 but did have a good portion.... Service was good, everyone was friendly and the food came fresh and piping hot. However, both times I came, the food took 20 minutes to come out, and I saw a good chunk of people waiting, which isn't ideal if you are trying to get a fast bite. Ambiance is a casual but nice diner, open for breakfast and lunch. Quite spacious with covered parking right next to the restaurant. Overall the food was delicious, highly recommend the eggs Benedict despite the second time the eggs being very overdone, the flavor was great!! The grits are also delicious, only thing is the price and the time it takes for the food to come. Otherwise very good food!

Grits and Eggs has officially been added to my list of breakfast/brunch places to dine! I was recommended the restaurant from a coworker and it did not disappoint. The midtown location is located in a building with a parking deck attached up the sidewalk for convenient parking. My husband and I were disappointed though that they were not validating that day, not sure if that has been updated since we last visited since previous reviews state that used to validate. The restaurant is a decent size, not too large but not too tight where it feels intimate but not overcrowded. Our server was extremely kind and informative of the menu. My husband ordered the catfish and grits with a side of eggs and I had the chicken and waffles with a side of potatoes. EVERYTHING was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I could've eaten a plate of just the catfish and fried chicken itself lol. We had mimosas to drink from their extensive drink menu. Hope they add a mimosa option with tequila in the future as it appeared to be the only spirit missing. Loved the old school R&B that played at a reasonable volume as well.

I recently was in Atlanta for a short trip and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite that wasn't far from my hotel. Yelp suggested Grits and Eggs and I am glad I ended up checking it out. I went on a Sunday morning and it was really busy and the line was outside; which in my opinion is a good sign. I walked in and was lucky to get seated immediately since I was a party of 1 and a spot was open at the bar. The restaurant itself isn't very big but there is an outside seating/dining area which I'm sure must be nice when the weather is warmer. There is a full bar and they can make pretty much any cocktail you want. the bartender made a lot of good suggestions on what items were popular on the menu. A customer favorite he assured me were the red snapper and grits& the shrimp and grits. While I'm sure they were yummy, something else caught my eye : the southern style Benedict. You have choice of an English muffin or a biscuit, I posted for biscuit. The biscuit, poached egg and hollandaise sauce were to die for. The service was immaculate; the bartender made sure I had everything I needed and constantly checked on me to make sure I was enjoying my dish. If you're ever in Atlanta, I highly recommend you check out this spot... but do it on a weekday, weekends are really busy.

Went here for an early Mother's Day celebration with my mom and her fiance and this place certainly did not disappoint. There were things that could've been better but overall not bad. When we walked in it was hot they said the AC and heat fluctuated and it just so happened that the desert was in town. Our waitress Nitra was very personable and gave good recommendations. We started off with the beignets. They had a crisp flaky crust but they were nothing like New Orleans. For the location they were okay, they could've definitely used a lot more powdered sugar. I decided on the smothered chicken biscuit. It was so delicious and the batter of the chicken was so flavorful. The only qualm I had was that it could've been hotter in temperature. My mom and her fiance enjoyed their food, except her fiance said her grits were weren't all that good. Pretty solid experience, some things could've been done better but I heard the downtown location is even better. (It also had an insane wait time so this location was a good intro)

French toast, grits, home fries, eggs with cheddar cheese

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for brunch with a few friends, table of 5. We were seated after about 10-15 minutes versus the initial 45 minutes we were quoted. Menus were on the table for us to review once we sat down. There were many options to choose from. We all started with waters and I had a pineapple mimosa mocktail. I eventually settled on French toast, eggs with cheddar cheese, both grits and home fries, and turkey bacon on a side plate. We all placed our orders and had conversation while we waited. We saw other tables receive their food and we were excited to get our food because everything looked good. Maybe about 20-25 minutes later we received our food. I shared my French toast with a friend who got the pancakes. The pancakes were savory, the French toast was savory as well although the edges were too tough for my liking. The eggs and grits were delicious. I could've done without the home fries, they didn't have seasoning and weren't fresh. Overall we had a good experience with the exception of service being slightly slow but our server was also a manager so she had a lot on her plate and then the ventilation which caused the kitchen smoke to permeate the dining area. Some of my group eyes were watering bc of it and the smoke smell clung to my clothes. I ordered salmon, yams, mac, and cornbread to go for my husband. He said everything was good and seasoned well.

GE's Club Sandwich and Seasoned Fries

I didn't want to write a review before speaking with someone but since no one has returned my call or responded to my email I will review my visit. My FIRST and ONLY visit was on 3/15/24 when I placed an online order for pick up. The website describes the GE Club Sandwich as Turkey, turkey ham, bacon, american cheese, swiss cheese, mixed greens, tomato and GE's special sauce. Choice of white or multigrain bread. Served with seasoned fries. My order was modified with the following description... No Tomato Sauce on the Side Onion ($0.25) Message Please put on white bread add ketchup and mustard packets thanks! Unfortunately, this is not what I received. I literally received a club STYLE sandwich with ONLY turkey, bacon and lettuce! No ham, no cheese, no onions and no special sauce on the side! To say I was disappointed was an understatement! Upon opening my lunch at work and discovering my poorly made sandwich, I called and left a voice message. Then I called again and still no human answered. I then waited 2 weeks...on 3/30 went on their website and send a message via the contact us area but again no response! It's now been a month still no response! What a horrible experience! I will not return to this location and I highly recommend you bypass them too!

We are this today September 15th 130pm. We're seating immediately. Great start right. Okay we sat down waitress came not to long after. She started off so good. Explained the menu. Best items and drinks such. We ordered our drinks i ordered Pumpkin Spice Chai tea & my friend ordered the Passion fruit Mimosa (so we thought). My drink was wrong. His drink wasn't Passion fruit, the waitress made something else. We had to wait for straws ‍. Now time to order our food. We ordered Maryland crab cakes for appetizer, catfish and grits and the ribeye and sides. We waited and waiting. Then our waiter seems to have gotten lost. My drink comes out it was wrong. I asked for water that got lost in translation as well. Okay food meal comes out but no Crab cakes. We had not silverware. Another server had to bring it out to us. We started eating and no crab cakes. Not sure if our server forgot we order them or what but service just went down and it started out so good. I would rate my Catfish & grits 5/5 it was good and the fish was freshly fried. So that was the plus. He asked for another Passion fruit mimosa, a regular came out that also go lost in communication not sure how if he asked for that specific mimosa. He was annoyed and ready to go! So that told me it was time go Food was great but service was just horrible! Not sure if it's a thing here in heart of Atlanta but customer service seems to just suck and I well unwelcoming those like me who travel here and would like to try these places. Will I return? Probably NOT

We came here before and couldn't get in because of the crowd. This location is so nice. We were greeted on entry and the waiters and waitresses we very very attentive. Two people came and talked to us and answered questions. Once we placed our orders, someone was always seeing if we needed anything. The table was kept clean but they were not overbearing. They were attentive and polite. We received our food and it was fresh and hot each bite from start to finish. The food was delicious. This place is worth a visit.

Came here on Sunday around noon. I joined the waitlist online which was very convenient. By the time I arrived, the wait was only 10 minutes so that was a plus. The service was attentive and prompt. Our server was so kind and helps with running through the menu items. I can't remember her name but it started with a M and she had glasses. The food was so good omg. I order the snapper and grits. The fish was fried to perfection. The flavor and crisp was so fresh and flavorful. 10/10 The cocktail was great too!! I can't forget about the beignets. They were honestly better than some I've had in New Orleans. I'll definitely be back.

    Shrimp and grits

If you know you know, if you you don't you would miss it. It's an unassuming location and the space seems cramped with the tables close together. The food however is exceptionally good, which is evident by the amount of diners. I had the shrimp and grits which brought me back to New Orleans. My only complaint would be the portion size which was not quite enough given the price. However, there was no denying that it was good, great even. Kudos to the chef on the execution of a classic southern favorite with all the flair of Cajun cuisine.

    Erin H.

The service is excellent. Food came out pretty fast and was tasty. The only thing I'd suggest is turning the music down a little and turning the air up a tad bit as well.

I've seen this business start to pop-up more and more so I drove past one morning in the city and I decided to make a turn and stop by. There's a parking lot across the street and signage that says that it's the parking garage for this business. You do have to pay, but if you bring your ticket inside, they will give you a validation sticker for just $5. It was just me so it was easy to get a seat immediately at the bar. I was pretty busy that day since it was the weekend. It was my first time so I was a little indecisive, but the waitress did explain to me that there was no substitutions, which made my indecisive even more. Bye, at the end of the day, I decided to go with eggs and grits, since that's what they were called. My food came in a timely fashion. When my food arrived, I didn't have any utensils. I had to wait for the waitress to get back to me to even ask her for utensils, then it took her a while to come back with utensils, to just tell me that they didn't have any actual utensils, but if I was okay with plastic and I was fine with that. A few minutes later I did see other patrons get actual silverware but I guess at the time there weren't any clean ones. My food was good. The grits are actually very flavorful. I would come back here again. Maybe try some other things on the menu. I definitely think that it's an easy place to come with 1 or 2 people, but if you have too many more people than that, especially on the weekend, be prepared to wait and just know that you will have to park in that garage because there really isn't any street parking near the location.

We had to make a decision quickly when we were pivoting, and when we came across the great reviews and photos of the food. we didn't think twice about checking to see if we could make it happen. When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

Title: Flavor Explosion, Soulful Hospitality & a Last-Minute Meal That Turned Magical…read more Let me just say this: what started as a "quick bite before closing" turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived at The Poach Social about 20 minutes before closing, unsure if we'd be rushed--but instead, we were welcomed with warmth and ease. Lived the ambiance. Hunter, our server, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel taken care of from the very start. Then came Victor, the owner and chef--and this is where things shifted from good to special. Without us even asking, he recommended a mocktail that felt like it was made just for me: a sorrel-based drink layered with ginger, spice, herbs, and fresh fruit. It was refreshing, balanced, and honestly one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I've had. We started with the jerk egg rolls... and I'm not exaggerating when I say we were clapping after the first bite. Crispy, juicy, flavorful, with a sweet-spicy sauce that just worked. We immediately knew we'd be taking more to go. For the main course, we ordered the Poach Social breakfast plate and the blackened salmon with polenta. The breakfast plate was comforting and well-executed, but the salmon dish? Absolutely unforgettable. Perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with creamy polenta and a rich sauce that brought everything together. It was a full-on flavor experience. The timing of everything--from drinks to apps to entrées--was seamless. Hunter checked in at the perfect moments, never too much, never too little. We ended up in a lovely conversation with Victor, who is not only talented but genuinely kind and passionate. He brought us complimentary slices of carrot cake, and even though we were already full... we ate every bite. No regrets. It was phenomenal. What I loved most is that this place doesn't just serve food--it creates an experience. There's intention, care, and heart behind everything. If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and go. This place deserves to thrive. We will absolutely be back.
