When to them 5 days later for warranty, and they would not honor it. Have been coming to this shop for more than 7 years now. It seems like there are mixed reviews about this place. I understand where some of the frustrated people are coming from but clutches are very sensitive to how you install and use. First of all, I always spend enough on installation. I have a certified ASE mechanic shop that charges a lot of money but I always use that place after I buy the clutches from Gripforce. I have 3 cars and have bought and installed 5 clutch kits in 7 years. Bought from their Gripforce brand to Exedy brand and never every gave any failures. IMHO those people who tries to save money on installation and install themselves or hire a cheap installer will have a much higher chance of something going wrong. Gripforce has to make money, too, so if they haven't done anything wrong then no they will not help you. But you shouldn't blame them for that. To make long short, they offer very nice products at heavily discounted prices and if you ask they will do their best to give even further discount (especially if you pay cash! Lol). Just be ready to spend good money on installation and nothing will go wrong. read more

I would highly recommend going elsewhere to purchase your clutch. They gave me the wrong clutch and it was missing the bearing. As a result I was delayed repairing my car and had to buy it elsewhere. The clutch they gave me (mini Cooper) cost $164 less than the clutch I ordered (BMW). When I attempted to return it they wouldn't take it back because they said it was missing a part and they wouldn't refund the $164 they overcharged me. Unfortunately I found many similar stories on different forums after I purchased from them. My advice is to shop elsewhere. read more

I recently bought a clutch kit from them as I have heard great things about their products and used them in another car of mine with great results. I received my parts extremely quickly and was very excited to put my new clutch in. I spent most of my Easter Sunday putting in my new clutch expecting to be able to make the hour drive back to my family in time for Easter dinner. After a seemingly successful install, I started my car and pushed in the clutch pedal, only to find that half way down towards the floor I heard and felt a horrible grinding and my engine stalled out and died. Being worried that I had somehow messed up, I started to pull the transmission out again only to find that my clutch fork that moves the throw out bearing had hit my new pressure plate and not only removed about 1/8" of material from the pressure plate, but also ground a grove into my clutch fork. I removed my clutch fork, reinstalled it in the hopes I had done it wrong the first time. After getting back in my car and starting it again, the clutch pedal became extremely stiff to operate and would not release off the floor. This time, not only did the clutch fork get stuck in the bellhousing, the metal rod coming from my master cylinder going to my clutch pedal snapped in half, thus leaving my car completely useless and in need of a new, very expensive, master cylinder. After inspection of my new part I had just put a grove in, I found that the new pressure plate was 1/4" thicker than the stock OEM brand that came in the car, without a doubt causing the pressure plate and clutch fork to hit one another. I finally figured out how to move the pivot point of the clutch fork further away from the pressure plate in order to avoid it, and after spending another several hundred dollars on a new master cylinder, my clutch now works fine. I am writing this poor and EXTREMELY unhappy review not because of the parts hitting one another, and not because I had to replace other damaged parts. I am writing this because I had decided to call Gripforce and ask them if this was an issue that they had heard of before, and if so, why on their website and also the eBay listing I bought the part from, there was absolutely NO mention that the pressure plate was thicker than the stock. I was handed off to their "technical support", which consisted of a very rude young man who found it appropriate to not only interrupt me before I was finished speaking and expressing my concern and my issues, but also went to far as to tell me that my recently fully blue printed and balanced engine had been put together improperly by my machine shop, but also "my worn out motor with several thousand miles on it has crankshaft endplay and the only way to fix this is to repair the crankshaft". Does this mean rebuild the newly rebuilt engine? No, it means that I have 0.002" of crankshaft endplay that is causing my pressure plate to hit the clutch fork. It DOES NOT mean that his product has caused any issues and that I have fully responsibility for what has happened. This kind young man then decided to tell me that he would email me some "suggestions on how to remedy my situation". I told him that I did not want him to email me and that I would not give him my email address. I asked what remedies this email would suggest, and it was, quote "my crankshaft has 2 thousandths of endplay and that the machine shop states that replacing the trust bearing will NOT fix the issue, and they also state that cars of this vintage are known to wipe out crankshafts." I told him I'm not quite sure what that all means but it sounds contradictory and that I was extremely disappointed to with his customer service, his telling me flat out that I do not know what I am talking about when I myself have worked in the auto industry for my entire career, his rudeness, and his cockiness when telling me that he is certified to work on "automobiles" but cannot and will not tell me which kind, but just all cars. When I had finally had enough after he put me on hold and I hung up, no more than 2 minutes later did I get an email after not giving it to him, from him stating the following: Here is some suggestions from the manufacture to resolve the problem with your car. (understand it is not our parts that caused this issue) "Problem: Release arm making contact with outer part of pressure plate cover stamping" 1.) Check T-Stud for being seated into the groove of the transmission correctly. 2.) Check crankshaft endplay for being out of spec. (Example: Cust had 0.060=1/16 inch of endplay, machine shop states that the cars of this vintage are bad for wiping out crankshaft and replacing thrust bearing will not repair problem. 3.) The customer can shave off 0.100 thousands off the T-Stud this will place the release arm back towards the transmission with will change the angle to compensate for crankshaft endplay problem." I will NEVER buy from them again. read more

I recently bought the stage 2 clutch and flywheel kit from Grip force. It was delivered to my door within 7 days of ordering via ground UPS. all the part were in the box nothing was missing and received undamaged. We installed this kit on my BMW on sunday and it took us 14 hours from start to finish . the install went very smooth and all the parts fit as they were intended to . we replaced the bearings rear main seal, output shaft seal, lubed the spline on trans and knickle anti seize around the balls on the fork and wearing spots. replaced the pin and spring holding the fork, we also replaced starter to ensure perfect alignment of the starter to flywheel. a new slave cylinder&line. we bled the cylinder and took it for a test drive and I must say it works perfectly .My friend who helped me is a BMW tech and was amazed at the quality of these parts. the pressure plate is heavy duty compared to the stock Sachs pressure plate having more rivets then the stock one and heavy duty springs inside of it. the pressure plate that came in the kit was a Sachs and clutch disc is made of Kevlar. I have put 500 km on the car in past few days and it works perfectly no chatter no gear noise and car feels like new. first road test it was chirping the tires in every gear just driving normal =) now that I am used to the feel of it, it is feeling great as it breaks in . I do not race my car I use it as a daily driver and could not be happier with the results of installing theses parts. I have been a mechanic for over 30 years and am glad my BMW tech buddy was there to show me a lot of things to watch out for when installing the new clutch, lube points etc. install went really smooth and the set up works awesome. Thanks to the guys at grip force for getting the parts to me really fast. I will recommend this clutch kit to all my buddys who own BMWs and are looking to upgrade their clutch set ups. to those of you who have had problems with theses clutches? maybe u got a bad batch of parts or install may not have gone as smooth as intended. we replaced all moving parts when trans was out and lubed the parts that needed to be lubed. Unfortunately, my entire transaction with this company, which is my 2nd time, was a disappointment. I ordered a clutch disc Monday morning, and Tuesday, around 2pm, I received a phone call, but no voicemail. Since I had not received any notice via email or voicemail, I had no reason to assume my transaction was in limbo. I finally called Tuesday at 4:55pm, and the gentlemen helping me was very dispassionate. He said that their department flagged my credit card as a problem because MasterCard had "appt #X@" on record instead of "suite #X@". The reality is MasterCard has never flagged my use of the card for what he mentioned. Maybe my expectations of customer service are too high, and maybe I am just bothered that there was no communication for 30 hours since the transaction, but I would have appreciated some form of voicemail or email alerting me that my transaction had not been completed. I bought a lightened flywheel and oem clutch replacement for my vehicle. went to install and found that the pilot bearing that the kit came with is loose in the fly wheel. after talking with there customer service I was told that the measurements where with in spec and will have to talk to fahanza there was nothing they could do. i bought the parts from Gripforce i feel there should stand behind the items they sell. we all know if you install a loose (can put in and take out by hand) pilot bearing into a flywheel it will walk out on the out put shaft and cause more issues. when I ask if I could return the kit that will not work for my vehicle they said they would be glad to return it for a 15% restocking fee. i will never buy anything from this place there are there to help you in tel they have your money. i would have been OK with a replacement just as long as it worked. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!This is the worst company(if you could call it a company. I believe it is some12 year old.Very rude over ebay messages) I have ever dealt with. I bought an OEM clutch kit from this person(yes, it is not a company)on ebay(he sells it under ultimatefrictionclutch name) which only lasted two days. I had to take my vehicle back to the mechanic and they hauled the whole hydraulic system(replaced both cylinders) but it still wasn't disengaging. After all this i was advised that it had to be faulty pressure plate since everything else was brand new, After communicating with this person(not a company) about 10 times I gave up and had to go and buy whole kit again since no one sells pressure plate separately. I explained what was wrong and had taken every possible fix to make it work but this person(not a professional company they claim to be) still refuses to help or understand the problem. He believes that faulty parts do not exist and it's always the mechanic's fault and will refuse to replace parts and honor warranties.
