I don't typically write reviews as I like to support small businesses. However, i feel this review is necessary to help other potential consumers avoid going through the frustrations I just recently dealt with Modbargains. I found Modbargins through Yelp, and I wanted to give them an opportunity to work on my vehicle after reading all of the positive reviews. But from my own personal experience, the positive reviews the shop has received are not credible. On 2/16/25, I went directly on their website to schedule an appointment to get 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires to be mounted and balanced as well have a 4 wheel alignment to be completed for my 2018 BMW M3. The website required me to prepay for their services before bringing in the car, which I did. Upon my visit on 2/17/25 at 9 am with Ron Hay, the owner. Ron stated that they had no record of my appointment. I clearly showed Ron the email confirmation that I have received via email for the appointment for that date. He stated they were no longer using their online website to book appointments, and all appointments had to be done over the telephone. I commented that wasn't my problem, and they should mention that on their website to prevent people from wasting their time by booking an appointment, which they are not going to honor. To make the situation worse, Ron then told me that their system quoted me an incorrect price and that the installation cost would be more. Because of his incompetence with scheduling it caused me to change my schedule in my busy work day. After my wheels were mounted and balanced, which is not a difficult installation for most shops to handle. I quickly noticed one of my wheels was nicked and damaged from the mounting and balancing of the wheels. I immediately pointed the damage to Ron, and he stated that the damage was not from his machine or technician, and there was nothing he could do for me. Upon inspecting all four wheels and I noticed there were other damages that were not there upon dropping my car off at their shop. A total of 3 damaged wheels from his negligence at his shop. I immediately bought this to Ron's attention about this and he said he wanted me to email him pics of all of the damaged wheels to figure out what happened and would get back to me within 1-2 days. After 2 days, Ron left me a voicemail and stated he asked his employee if he was aware of any damages to the wheels. And his employee said no. Ron had the audacity to tell me that his employee is very honest, and clearly, his shop was not responsible for damages to my wheels was kinda insulting. At the end of the voicemail, he was willing to compensate me for a total of $40 to repair the wheels and gave me a list of places that he recommend me to take my car to for the repairs for the wheels. Although I appreciate the $40 offer, it's not even about the money. That was not even cover 1/3 of the repair per wheel. Attached are pics of the damaged wheels, screen shot of my appointment date, the email stating that he was willing to compensate me for the $40 and the refund screen shot of the $40 to my account. Stay away from this shop unless you want damages done to your vehicle!!! Ron Hay is a dishonest businessman. I will take my business to European Auto Source from now on, which is a more reputable and honest shop. read more

Ron and I took a spin around the area to make sure I was satisfied with the ride feel and I must say it was night and day. Bought new wheels for two separate cars. Appreciated that for the most part, they are extremely responsive - found email to be the most consistent. As far as scheduling goes, I find it extremely lame that they couldn't do a one-hour wheel install until a month after the wheels were purchased. Once they installs were scheduled... First wheel install: a 3+ hour wait in the waiting room when told it would be one hour. Second wheel install: 2-hour wait after being told a 40 minute wait. Both installs were incredibly frustrating. I got the impression they do wheels all the time, so how could they estimate so poorly? If they told me the real time estimate, I wouldn't have any problem with it, but the major underestimate of time was amateurish. Would I buy from them again? Maybe. In a pinch. read more

Frustrating experience with ModBargains. I purchase an AWE Tuning Track Exhaust for my 2019 Audi S5 Sportback. I'm located in Las Vegas, NV and they shipped me the exhaust. Once received, I brought to local shop and paid to have it professionally installed. Halfway through the install, the shop calls to notify me that the exhaust does not fit. Upon further review, they sent me the exhaust for a S5 coupe. Once this happened... I had to PAY the install shop to then install back my stock exhaust. The resolution was that ModBargains would refund a portion but then have to drive to California to get the exhaust installed. No full refund was offered nor discount for the inconvenience for something they messed up (they provided wrong part number to AWE). Fast forward to the install... exhaust was installed and drove back to Vegas. After driving around a bit, I heard some rattles/noise coming from the rear exhaust. My assumption was that it was the exhaust tips hitting the rear valence as I sent them photos of visible touch points. When I asked about this, they said I could bring it back (4 hour drive) but that AWE said the tips may have been improperly aligned. I decided to recently remove the exhaust tips as I wasn't driving the car for several months... still makes the noise. I contacted my sales person who assisted through this whole process and they mention a 30 day timeframe where I would have had to bring the car back. I already emailed about the rattles/noise issue early on... and you would think after their messups, they would make an exception. NOPE. $150 an hour to troubleshoot what seems to be an issue with install or defective exhaust from AWE. Frustrating experience that could have been remedied with decent customer service. read more

I've never modded my car. I chose this place because it was close to me, reading reviews, and the associate sold me on, "We've got your back if you have any issues after install." So, I purchased bc racing coilovers, new wheels, and a set of tires. The total came out to under $4k. From the get go, I said I want my car lowered, but this is my daily driver, so I don't want any rubbing. I told him this multiple times and each time he said not to worry there won't be any rubbing. The day I picked up my car, he called me and told me to come in because of an issue with rubbing in the rear tire. I went to the shop, the two solutions provided to me were: 1) Purchase and install a rear camber kit, then realign the car. Total for that would be $530. 2) The cheaper option he said, was to buy smaller tires for the rear. But Please keep in mind, I just purchased a new set of 4 tires from this place based on the recommended specs from the mod expert. I hadn't even driven them out of the parking lot and now I need to pay $285 for a different brand of tires for my rear. Not sure what I'm supposed to do with the rear tires I already bought from them. Can I return them? nope. Lastly, he couldn't guarantee these options to work... If I paid to get my car lowered with no rubbing, using your direction and consulting, I think I should get that. read more

*Update* I worked with the team at Mod Bargain to resolve my issue. I returned a cold air intake and wasn't charged the restocking fee. I was only charged for shipping. I was refunded for the diffuser as well. It never arrived so I wasn't charged. Due to the previous order the folks at Mod Bargain made it right. I received an discount on my next order for body colored reflectors and free shipping. They came out nicely. See pics below. *Previous review* Found this shop from Bimmerpost. I did an order on the phone for a exhaust and diffuser. Representative confirmed all parts were in stock. I emphasized that I wanted all parts st the same time for installation. My confirmation email also confirmed this along with a UPS Link. I was charged and provided shipping information for all parts. Upon receipt I found out that the diffuser wasn't included. Over a 10 day period during this order I wasn't notified of any delays. I had to follow up for the diffuser. Now I have to order a diffuser and arrange for an install after already picking up the parts from the first UPS delivery. read more

I, like most of you found ModBargains via either a google search or from one of the many forums that are dedicated to our cars. I'm a member of one but a reader/lurker of others and spend a lot of time researching before buying anything...a lot of time. So, when I saw ModBargains praised again and again for their prices and customer service they were my only choice when it came time to make my purchase. After exhaustive research I actually just placed an order online. Excited, I settled into a giddy waiting period...I couldn't wait to get new wheels on my car! My giddy excitement had to wait because this wasn't a perfect purchase. There were a few speed bumps along my journey. The next day I received a voicemail from the very friendly and professional Jay Balatbat. He explained that the wheels I thought I had purchased were out of stock. After all of my research I now had to make more choices. The thing is though, Jay was able to present options that I hadn't seen online. He also sent a number of photos of customer cars with wheel options as well. This really helped me make the choice to purchase Avant Large M610s. I love these wheels! Although there were some speed bumps along the way, I am pleased with the outcome of my purchase and the level of service that I received from Jay. I would recommend him and ModBargains to anyone. Honestly, the only thing that I'd change (If I had a magic wand) is where they are located. They are on the west coast and I am on the east coast. After bad experiences with shops local to where I live and work, I thought it was time to get my aftermarket parts installed by the shop of the man whom I bought my car from even though his shop is nearly an hour away from where I live. After having such a great experience buying the car from him (he's the GM of ModAuto), I figured it was likely going to be worth the distance traveled. It was. One of my favorite things about this shop is that they formally schedule your appointment based off what you're getting done. In my case, it was installation for a steering wheel, tension struts w/pre-installed monoballs and an alignment. I got a quote for an opening for 4/3 Friday (today) at 8:30-12:30; I paid it and I was locked in with several reminders to me throughout the week. Have you gone to shops where you tell them what you want done, they give you a general due date, you drop off the car and they say they'll need more time so it'll some days later than the original day, but then they finally get it done even a week later than the changed time? I really like this setup that they have going on here at Mod because it upholds them to their word. Another great thing about the shop itself is the nice panoramic vista window between the lobby and the garage. After a couple of bad experiences with some previous shops as I mentioned earlier, I'm a little paranoid about what people do with my car, and this view was really nice to keep me at ease. Ironically, I didn't even look at what they were doing because they have a bar with high chairs abutting this window with wall plugs for you to plug in and do some work! Huzzah. And this is my favorite thing about the shop: the marquee you see when you enter the door and see "MODBARGAINS WELCOMES:" your name along with the other customers who have appointments today. This is a really nice touch, and something I will try to emulate with my own completely different business. ModAuto is a 45 minute drive from where I live, but their service and professionalism is unrivaled, so this is where I'm going to from now on. read more

Okay, so I purchased a used 2001 BMW 325i is really decent condition. Now, I've never been the type of person to keep a cart stock, so I wanted to start doing some small mods to the car to make it look, well you know, cool. I started looking around online and found several places that would do what I was looking for, but they seemed kinda sketchy. Then I found ModBargains (or Mod Auto). They had a HUGE selection of stuff I could do to my ride, and the price were really competitive (plus they have sales and coupons, too). Not that I'm cheap, I just like a bargain ... well okay, I'm kinda cheap too. So I found all the stuff I wanted to do (Angel Eyes, smoked turn signals and side markers.) and started an online chat to talk to a rep. I gotta tell you, their online chat service is awesome! Easy to use and you don't feel like your text is going out into the void, never to be answered. My appointment was at 8am, so I left a little early because of rush hour traffic. Got to the facility and was welcomed with a sign in the lobby with my name on it. Nice touch. I gave them my keys and took a seat in the waiting room. I say waiting room, but it was more like a man-spa ... huge TVs, coffee machine, fridge, driving simulator, comfy leather chairs, and a huge bay window with bar stools so you can watch your car being worked. By the way, the work area is super clean and professional, not like most mod shops where there are girly posters all over the walls and fast food wrappers littering the floor. (Not that I have anything against girly posters, mind you, I .... well, moving on). Everyone was super nice, and came in multiple times to let me know what was going on with my car. It really gave me the impression they all of them were enthusiasts like me, and we're just as excited as I was about what I was doing to my car. Side note, Gus, my technician, noticed my passenger side fog light was out. He went out of his way to remove a couple plastic panels and put the bulb back in and fixed my fog light free of charge. Now it may not seem like much to you, but had that happened at the BMW dealership, that would have cost me $15,000 and a pint of blood. That act of kindness and thoughtfulness alone sealed the deal for me, as I'm now a customer for life! The car looks great, the work was clean and professional, and my overall experience was a 14.5 on a scale of 10. If you're like me and need/want some slicks mods for your car, you really should go see the guys at Mod Bargains/Mod Auto. You'll be glad you did. read more

Not enough to say about these guys. Ive brought my 2015 F30 335i Here a few times now and always been treated with high amount of respect and always came out with no issues. Both the sales team and the technicians are all super fun, genuine people trying to just help the car community. They're one of the few shops out there today that don't make it their goal to scam people to make a quick buck. They try to find the best solution for you, never upsell you, and are always accommodating. Theyre prices are also very fair for the quality of work youre getting, especially compared to some of the other performance modification shops. Ive worked with Kevin who himself had a F30 so really knows what hes doing when it comes to BMWs. He helped me get my: Bilstein Coilovers Stoptech Rotors and brake-lines Maintenance All done on my car. I drive almost 60 miles from LA to this shop to get work done on my car if that says anything. I'm glad I came to ModBargains after seeing all the great reviews on here. I was looking for new tires and rims for my car and deciding to check this place out. Kirk was very knowledgeable and honest which made the process so much easier. I was interested in gunmetal VMR wheels for my Mercedes. Kirk brought to my attention that the front center caps might not fit my car since not many Mercedes have VMR wheels. He said he would do more research and let me know. Kirk did a great job of keeping me up to date. We never got a 100% that the front center caps would fit or not but it was a risk I was willing to take and figure out what to do later since the deal on these rims were too good compared to my other gunmetal options. Day of installation, Kirk again was great with walking me through all the steps and said my car will get ready in an hour and half. My car was ready in a little less than an hour and looked great! Kirk was dupe helpful throughout the whole process and highly recommend him! Since the start of my wheel search my main interested were getting CSL style wheel and going with VMR V703. Back then V703 were having a delay in their new batch of shipment so Sean gave me a recommendation and guided me in getting the Sportline 8s. At first i was on the fence on getting the 8s because i was so stuck to the V703 but Sean as a GREAT employee, he started to describe the benefits and pros on getting the 8s. Recently I got VMR wheels mounted on my e92 and balanced... love how it came out. Blake the gentleman that assisted me was extremely helpful and was able to advise me step by steps how to pick the right wheels and compatibility. However during the install stage 2 of my oem wheels were minorly damaged from the removal process and I was upset especially how much time I researched and selected them to be experienced and super careful wheel shop. I guess sometimes SAT they are extremely booked and can rush things, but after notifying the team...Blake and Mike acknowledged the issue and was able to have me bring back the damaged wheels and get them repaired at no charge. They even went above and beyond to fix some of the curb rashes that was originally there before (that's what you call customer services). I know sometimes things doesn't go accordingly as planned but customer service like this wins it all.
