The drinks were delicious, I had the mango lemon drop and would get that over and over again. As a table we shared the oxtail ravioli and the oxtail fried rice, we enjoyed both. I went to Greyz with a larger group for an early dinner, around 5PM on a Saturday. We were the only table there which worked out well since food took some time to come out. The woman hosting was kind, moved around tables to accommodate us all. They advertise a happy hour from 5-7PM (weekends included) but oddly, there's no printed HH menu. The waitress described to us verbally what was there and that includes select cocktails, wings, fries, bao buns and spring rolls. There are a few discrepancies between the menu in-person and the menu on the website, so ask if there's a menu item you saw online and don't see there. I got the fish sandwich which came with a side of old bay fries. The fish was crispy and a very nice balance between the batter and actual fish. The slaw that came with it was a nice complement as well as the aioli which brought it all together. The fries tasted like frozen as opposed to handcut, could have been a bit more elevated if they made theirs in house. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food, the plantains were perfectly brown and the wings/bao buns had good reviews from my friends. This is one of the few sit down restaurants in the neighborhood and the only one on the block. Went on a warm Wednesday around 6pm and no one was there. That along with the ramp made it perfect for me to bring two kids with a stroller. The host/waitress/bartender greeted us with a smile and quickly seated us. We ordered the escovitch fish, lemon drop, rum punch and spring rolls. Everything came out steaming hot and took 20-30 minutes after the drinks. Another party showed up, but even though the space is small (you can see the other end of the room from one end), there are large windows with natural lighting, & white bright walls; you don't really notice the other guests. Millennial r&b music playing but I was able to talk without yelling. The cassava fries were a little salty, but the escovitch fish & lemon drop were great. Such an amazing dinner spot. The restaurant was lovely, the food was delicious, the chef and staff were beyond kind. It felt welcoming and elevated at the same time. Someone greets you as soon as you enter to seat you at one of the intimate tables with a view of the creative mural that seems to depict river rafting in Jamaica in the colors and shapes of the Jamaican flag I had the pork bao buns and oxtail fried rice. The buns were pillowy soft with thick pork belly pieces and a slaw to cut through the fat and sweetness of the pork. The oxtail fried rice was pure bliss. There's huge chunks of oxtail all throughout and each bite was such a pleasant harmony of flavors between the fresh green onions, tender oxtail bites, and steaming hot soy sauce bathed rice. A brilliant fusion that I had no clue worked together. Tender, juicy, and packed with layers of flavor I just didn't see coming. The lobster fried rice was equally impressive--rich without being heavy, and filled with generous chunks of lobster that actually tasted fresh (a rare find). Even the vegetable spring rolls stood out--crispy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care and intent. It's a small space, but the vibe is welcoming and relaxed. I've tried several things from their menu thus far, their Thai side salad, mushroom & jerk pork bao buns and island pasta, but today, I just stopped in for a quick takeaway. The restaurant opens at 4 and I arrived just before 5 so there wasn't a wait. The space is small but still feels roomy with tables, chairs and bar seating as well as a cute little photo wall that is popular amongst brunch spots. I was helped by a server but saw the owner as he came out from the kitchen briefly as well. WOW. I've never had breadfruit fries before but now I'm a believer! Great flavor and texture, I wish there was more!! The Stylish Chicken Sandwich was great as well and as someone who normally doesn't go for chicken, I would order this again, as the fry batter really added a great flavor to it. We met the owner and chef. it was alone until more staff arrived. We had the boa buns seafood friend rice and the oxtail friend rice, which was scrumptious. I want to return for brunch. the service declined as more staff showed up to help. My friend would ask for more water, or napkins or a drink multiple times from different people before it finally arrived. They have a bottomless drink option during brunch, $25 for 1 hour. I made sure to capitalize on that perk and you can get it spiked with Wray if you feel adventurous. I enjoyed a "Cousins" get together yesterday at Greyz Bistro. The entire experience was so satisfying. Greyz is a small restaurant so you should make a reservation. The chef has created a fusion of foods and flavors that was extremely pleasing to my palate. When we were there the restaurant was almost full so we came with our patience and it was worth it. The server, unfortunately we never got his name, was very attentive, friendly with a slick sense of humor and all of his effort was greatly appreciated. Although we ordered separately, we treated the experience like a family style meal, tasting almost everything on the table. Known for the oxtail ravioli, you'll do yourself a disservice if you don't try it! They are so deliciously flavorful! I cleaned that plate! The shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta was buttery and smooth and the shrimp were huge. I didn't taste the mac and cheese, due to allergies, but my cousins loved it. The fried rice was very flavorful and the fried rice with oxtail pieces was beyond comparison. One cousin had the whole snapper which she enjoyed. This came with callaloo (very tasty) and plantains that were perfectly sweet and impeccably cooked without a trace of oil being used. Another cousin had the whole jerk hen that she enjoyed. It was served with bok choy and a plantain pancake underneath. The bok choy made my mouth happy! The only thing that missed the mark, in comparison, was the honey barbecue wings. They were average and did not compare to the excellence applied to the creation of the rest of the dishes. For dessert, we had the molten lava cake, with 4 spoons and it was light yet quite flavorful, especially with the rum-craisin ice cream in the dish. Finally, don't sleep on the 'Sidecar' drink, which was delicious and strong. Greyz is a little pricey and the prices honor the experience and skill of Chef Cheese. He has done the "damn thing" with these dishes! We're DEFINITELY going back! We have 2 more cousins to introduce Greyz to! read more

I order the sweet chili wings and they were nice and crispy and the sweet chili sauce was delicious. The wings also came with a slaw that was great too. We forgot to take photos before we at them all lol. ENTREES I had the ackee with shrimp and lobster. I'm not a big lobster person, but it sounded unique and I'm glad I ordered it. I'd definitely come back and get that again. There was even callaloo in there and I loved it. The combination of all the flavors were great . My meal came with festival and I'm not gonna lie that was some of the best festival I've ever had! I don't know how but the texture was like a mix of a festival and a fry dumpling. Was very excited to try this new establishment but it was very underwhelming to say the least. Visited here on a Friday evening from the outside it looks pretty roomy inside but it isn't, the size is small seating for an average of 20 including the bar and the bar is also small I wouldn't recommend standing with a large group. Our server seemed alil overwhelmed. We waited almost 30 minutes for water, we reached there at 7:25 and was trying to some happy hour drinks in before it ending at 8pm. She came and took our order at 7:55. The rum punch was poorly made, it taste like straight wrey and nephew with a pinch of juice. The bao buns weren't what I thought they would be the pork belly was over cooked and the shrimp had way too much jerk seasoning the sauce on the plate taste like straight mayo. The tacos had way too much raw cabbage and the flavor was all over the place topped with pickled peppers I don't think were needed. We ordered the oxtail fried rice and after an hour of waiting never received it. When asked for the check they charged us for it and they didn't realize we never got it. Clearly a cultivated menu, staying in theme with the fusion style nature of the restaurant. We ordered general tso wings and shrimp scampi! Both were great! The wings were glazed and not drenched with the right amount of spice and a hint of heat. But that scampi from beginning to end was delectable. The pasta was fresh! The shrimp were colossal and NOT overcooked! Tomatoes perfectly blistered! With the perfect cream sauce consistency! It was great. Finally, the KIMCHI KOREAN BURGER! talk about doing something your way and it being a HIT! This burger was cooked to the proper temp! I thiught the Kimchi and coleslaw would be overbearing...NOPE! After seeing this restaurant pop up on my IG feed several times, I decided to give it a try. Here is my honest review. Ambiance: Lacking effort. The music playlist was good but the setup is tight in the small establishment. Additionally the dark paint in a small space does not fit. Drinks: The rum punch was not good. It tasted like Alcohol with red 40. No fruit flavor at all. There are tons of rum punch recipes you can incorporate onto your own. Food: Bao Buns were mushy. The meat inside was ok. The presentation needs work. Tacos were messy. The shrimp was too crunchy and the sauce tasted store bought. Service: There was 1 young lady serving about 15 guests. She was pleasent however, She needed support. Basic service etiquette was lacking. We had to ask for water several times. We got food with no silverware and had to ask. Drinks took a long time. We had to ask for a bill adjustment. A man came to table to apologize however I don't know if he was a manger/ owner or what because he didn't introduce himself. He offered a free rum punch on our next visit as compensation. SMH. Unfortunately I will not be returning because this visit was not worth the time or money spent and left nothing to justify a return visit. read more

After seeing Greyz Bistro on Instagram, I decided this would be the perfect place to take my mother for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We were a party of 4 and was met with a warm welcome by the waitress. The restaurant is quaint, but had enough seating for various party sizes. Our order included: oxtail fried rice, lobster fried rice, guava glazed salmon, curry goat patties, chicken wings, and two kinds of fries--breadfruit and regular. Everyone enjoyed their entrees which had a balance of spice and flavors. The portions were generous (at least to my standards = ). I very much enjoyed the salmon which was perfectly cooked. The breadfruit fries was so delightful.. such a innovative idea! My least favorite dish was the curry goat patties. It was missing "oomph" and the accompanied sauce didn't add anything. Maybe a coconut curry sauce may have worked better. All in all, I would return to try other things on their menu or their brunch. The Caribbean-asian fusion comes together smoothly to create flavors I'd never experienced together before (the jerk chicken stuffed oxtail was a personal favorite) . I would give it a 8/10 for a solid "Rasta pasta" type dish for the flavor, and the generous colossal shrimp. Guess what? I won a free tasting at Greyz Bistro! I was a backup winner, so there were three initial winners, but one person had to cancel, and I got their spot. I just went to the tasting yesterday, and it was a review of his new menu. What can I say it was the best food I've ever tasted, and I'm not joking! I felt like I was in a five-star Michelin restaurant. The arugula salad with goat cheese was the first course, followed by a duck breast with black cherries, oxtail ravioli, snapper with lavender beurre blanc which I devoured and I don't even eat fish! After the snapper we had grilled wagyu with scallop potatoes and finished it off with wild berry panna cotta with rum cake crumble. AMAZING The food was so breathtaking and I can honestly say I had a food orgasm. The chef was so knowledgeable and attentive to all his dishes, talking about each course. Everything was A1. I think everyone should experience this restaurant at least once in their life. It was a different kind of feeling when I went there, eating exquisite food and just relaxing. It was phenomenal. I don't know how many times I could've thanked him. He paid attention to every meal, making everything to order right there and bringing it out. I would definitely go back. I'm trying to figure out when the next time is because I live in New Jersey, and I made it my mission to come out here to Brooklyn. Even before I won the tasting, I was always trying to get to that restaurant because of all the online reviews, the food, and the brunches he has on the weekends made me want to go. This spot has been on my gotta try list for a while and I finally did it. The space is small in size but big in energy which you feel upon entering. I ordered the chicken sandwich, the oxtail fried rice, and the ceviche. The sandwich was amazing, the chicken was well seasoned, the sauce was top shelf and the oxtail took the sandwich to the next level. The fried rice was extremely flavorful and had a hint of sweetness to it that I loved. The ceviche had a nice kick to it. Everything was magnificent and the service was 5 star.
