The lease deal that was advertised was not provided to me, after finally getting an appropriate contract ( that I only got due to my uncle being on speaker phone during the process) a week later I get a call that they're changing the terms and I can either bring the car back or accept. After sending my uncle the new terms he finally had to call the GM to get the deal straight because we couldn't get ahold of Jesus the finance manager. None of his paperwork made any sense (there was even a point where I was going to pay like $239 for a brand new 4Runner..he didn't know what he was doing) and he wouldn't answer any calls or emails, but definitely let me know I could bring the car back if it was too much of a hassle for me. Honestly it's criminal what you guys do to women who come in your stores. The way I was treated, like I was some idiot who couldn't tell I was getting ripped off. They never sent anything to the CA DMV and recently told her that was happening and they supplied FedEx tracking, well that parcel went to some place called "Speedy Registration" in Lake Elsinore, CA. Now she has to go get a SMOG test on her dime and also go to the CA DMV for a VIN Check and then mail all this information to SPEEDY. This was never told to her, they are horrible liars and charlatans. This place should not be selling cars to anyone, and especially not out of state as they don't know their A**es from a hole in the ground. She will have paid for this car and will not be able to use it until a full 2 months of paying Gresham. read more

There were a couple shady things that happened here but the tipping point for me was: I was going to get my car's trade in value. They end up showing me a car and giving a good deal with lots of promises, so I agreed to maybe buy the car with cash- I made it very clear multiple times from the beginning and every time they asked that I did NOT want to finance a car. They said I had to sign a contract before I negotiated further. They said they needed my SSN in order to confirm my identity, and that they would not run a credit check. The salesman came back after talking to the finance manager and basically said "Hey sorry so we have to run a soft check on your credit as part of the identity confirmation so we are doing that now. It will only affect your score by like 5 points so it's not a big deal." Umm.. okay? I ended up not going through with the purchase for various reasons revolving around the sketchiness of promises made and then gone back on. They had made a lot of promises to get me to sign the contract but once the finance manager came to talk with me he basically said (very condescendingly) that they wouldn't actually be able to do any of what the sales guy had said. Went home and found out they ran a hard check against my credit and it went down 15 points. I'm guessing that's because they really wanted to convince me to finance a car, even after I said maybe 10 times that I really did not want to. I would not personally recommend buying here read more

We have purchased 3+ cars from this dealership and every time we bring a vehicle in for service they try to rip us off. #1 Last year I brought in my wife's 2020 Rav4 for service. They tell me the brakes are at 10-20% and quote me an absurd price for brake pads. I take the car straight to Nolans tires and they said you brakes are at 80%. Too funny Swickard. #2 Bring our daughters 2017 Prius in for 1 of the 2 service appointments that came with the purchase of the car. Dropped car off from 30 minute drive only to get home 30 minutes later to get a call that the Prius is done with service appt. Get to Toyota and look at paperwork. They didn't change the oil or rotate the tires. They lied. My daughter called the dealership back when she got home and the service manager could not even tell her what they did to the car and then never called us back. You guys are shafty. #3 Today 5/9/2025 I bring my 2023 Rav4 Prime, which I purchased at this dealership, they tell me I need 30k maintenance and quote me $1030 for the service. I was like I will go look this up. Just change my oil and do a tire rotation. In the service manual it states to check all the fluids they quoted my $1030 to replace. Come on guys! I called my mechanic and he quoted me 1/3 less than what Toyota quoted me and told me I don't need to change out all these fluids but just check the levels. This dealership is a true ripoff and we will never purchase a vehicle at this dealership every again. I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

Unfortunately, I have the somewhat unusual circumstance of purchasing a car there but living in another state, so visiting them in person is not an option. If I could give zero stars I would. We called on a Saturday to get our engine detailed. We got a quote for $100 and an appointment for Monday morning. We forgot we had a prior engagement and called to change it to Monday afternoon. We asked if they could verify the $100 quote as well. They said they will call us back and we confirmed our phone number was correct they had on file. We got a text verify both appointments. Never got a call back! We got there at 12:30 to drop it off early. They then decided to tell us it would be $210 to complete the service and to pull on in to drop off the car. Once we did we told them we had a guy quote us at $100. He went inside and then told us they don't have a detailer to do the job today!!!! They told us the manager tried to call us to tell us they don't do engine detailing. Then proceeded to tell us they'd have someone tomorrow who could do it. We said "Thought you don't do engine detailing" he then said it was hypothetical if they had someone. He couldn't keep up with his own lies!! How can you 1. Schedule appointment over the phone with their service people for a service they "don't" do. 2. How do you schedule an appointment same day when you dont have the specialist in that day??? 3. You were ready to do the job until we told you that we were quoted a different amount and wanted you to honor that. Then you made up serval reasons why you couldn't do the job. Up selling is a trick for the dealers and techs to make extra earnings. Go on google and search out Toyota Dealers Up-Selling customers for unnecessary fluid and maintenance. Also search out just exactly what the factory recommends and take it with you. This dealership at 30K wanted a brake fluid change for extra $400 plus fuel system cleaning $200. that's on top of the basic cost for hundreds of dollars. Don't be fooled. I bought a truck from these guys a used Tundra as is as part of the deal since it was dirty they were going to detail it and install a missing cover on the overhead console. The deal was so that I would come back when the part is in and have it detailed . 2 weeks later they call me the part is too hard to find; they're not doing it anymore. I was like what the heck there was 2 little portions you guys agreed to you have to honor it I don't mind if it takes a few months to do. Finnaly thru a manager they re agreed . Then they schedule me for the detailing. I bring my car and drop it off. They say come back 3-4 hours later. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business after my terrible service experience. I took my Toyota Corolla into the service department to replace a flat tire. I dropped off the car at 8:00am and it was ready at 6:00pm when the shop was closing. After leaving, I stopped at Walmart in Wood Village. When I pulled into the parking lot, there was noise coming from the same tire which was replaced. The shop was closed so I called emergency services. When the technician arrived, he assessed the tire and discovered that 4 of the 5 lug nuts were not hand tightened. Had I driven any further, the tire would have fallen off and caused an accident. The next day, I returned to the dealership and asked to speak with the service manager. He was not available, so the sales manager spoke to me. He agreed that the situation should never have occurred. He promised to follow-up, but I never heard back from the dealership. I purchased my Toyota Corolla at this dealership, but after this terrible experience, I will never return. They put my life in danger by sending me on the road with a tire that was not properly attached. The service was not worthy of even 1 star. read more

GT had the gall to contact me asking for referrals today. It reminded me of the rotten experience I had there. I bought two cars there a few years ago. I was badgered to pay about 100 bucks for floor mats on the used Prius I bought there. I also later discovered vanilla scent packets stuffed under the seat and learned that the hvac system had a moldy smell when used and that the car had sat in the south for some time.... GT did nothing for me to fix that issue despite repeated attempts requesting a fix or any remedy. Stonewalled by its service dept. They pushed very hard to upsell me on a maintenance package as well as a dent and ding package, well over 5k in products, and assured me the dealerships in Honolulu would honor these packages. Here we are 19 months later and no dealership in Hawaii will honor them. I have tried calling multiple times, spoke with Clayton and Georgio, who assured me multiple times that someone would call me back to get me a refund. Maybe you go in for a brake job and they say "brakes are shot, you need all 4 & you tell them to show you before the work. Oh, these to pads still 80% on them. I not doing the rears, just the fronts. TRANSPARENCY? Really??? Honesty, integrity!! Your WORDS & ACTIONS should reflect that. We should be able to express what is wrong and not what you just want to add. I bought a car in June, and the experience was fine. They did try to charge more than the original quote, but when I said I'd leave, they honored the first number they'd offered. The problem came with the keys. I bought a Gold Certified Used car, which was supposed to come with 2 keys. After I had signed everything, they couldn't find the second key, but they said I could just come in and they would program a new key for it. I did that, and sat in the waiting area for 5 hours while they made the key because they said I lived too far for them to do the complementary ride home they told me I would have when I scheduled. I waited, and eventually it was done. It was my fault for not checking that the key was complete and worked before I left, but I didn't. When I got home, I saw that the manual key piece that fits into the remote wasn't there. I called, and they said it was there and I could come pick it up. I drove 30 min back again, and they couldn't find it. No real sense of urgency, just told me they'd call if they found it. The next week, I called again. Again, I was told to come in and pick it up. Again, I drove 30 min each way to get it. This time, the employees were confused about the issue, but said they could take the remote part of the key that I still had and give it to the man I'd talked to initially, and he could ship me the complete key. I've called regularly for the 2 months it's been since they took the remote part of the key, and they just send me to voicemail and don't call back. I suppose I'm going to have to just pay for a new key somewhere else. Really wish I hadn't paid more for the "Gold Certified Used" that they talked up with all these guarantees, since they can't seem to meet even the most basic requirements of what the certification is supposed to mean. I wanted a Toyota for the ease of ownership because I don't want to waste my time on car issues, but I've spent way more time dealing with this dealership than I ever spent on my old Nissan. read more

Everything went smooth until I got in my car to drive it home noticing a clump of grease on my shifter and smeared grease all over my apple car play screen. I was then helped by Josh, the service technician who is so mature and knowledgeable and well mannered!! Did I say kind and helpful ...AND IN 45 MINUTES my car was finished. When I purchased my car I was told if I purchased an extended warranty a list of things would be covered. Given the reduced rate I could get on the warranty from my credit union it sounded like a wise move. When it came time for the service I was told it was not covered. The service department told me that they have issues with the sales/finance folks lying to customers in order to sell the plans. Oil changes are covered so in an effort to get something from paying for the plan I bring my car in for those. Last week they called me to set up an appointment. I scheduled it for 11am on a Friday. I confirmed via text the day prior. When I arrived on time I was told it would take 1 hour and 45 minutes. At the 2 hour mark the car had not been touched. At this point I am told they could do the service in 30 minutes. It is taking them almost 3 hours to complete scheduled service that will take 30 minutes of their labor. This place is a joke. Oh boy... Gresham toyota, you have our loyalty for, forever. Pretty until we die. And I believe the main reason I'm so in love with Gresham toyota is because the sales person Alex went over and BEYOND assisting me. So my husband and I wanted to replace my 2017 sienna with the hybrid sienna (2022). As everyone may know the inventory of cars in 2022 was so low that there was a waitlist for cars! I legit went to ALL the Toyota dealerships around the Portland and Portland metro area. Wilsonville, Portland the other place in Portland, Salem.. etc. everyone tried to get our business but Alex went over and BEYOND. She found me a car that was in the port that was unsold. She put my name on it and it was basically mine she said. I was super skeptical because I didn't put down a down payment or anything. After a few weeks of waiting, Alex being SO responsive to ALLLLLL my questions, concerns, etc Alex calls me to inform me my car arrived. Elated, I made the appointment to pick it up the next day or so... when I got there her genuine look of happiness and excitement filled my heart. She eagerly showed me everything I needed to know about the car. Her knowledge of everything went over and beyond a sales person. Oh I almost forgot to mention! All the other dealerships had an obscene dealership fee due to the low inventory nation wide. Well guess what... GRESHAM DIDNT GOUGE ME! Unlike Portland toyota and Wilsonville Toyota, Gresham Toyota didn't have a dealership fee. They didn't price gouge me, they also didn't price gouge the actual vehicle like allllll the other dealerships. This was shocking to me. They were legit, the price of my 2022 sienna that had a SICK entertainment package was LESS than all the other Toyotas. Folks I'm not kidding, just go there, look at their inventory and compare them apples to apples to the other dealers... the beat them all. Friendly, reasonably priced, attentive and helpful. My window had fallen off its track. Gresham Toyota wanted $190 just to look at it. I gave them $190. They've serviced my truck in the past. I had faith in them. They said after looking at it that it would cost $648 to fix it. + The $190! I thought it seemed extreme. So I went to Mount Hood glass and they did it for $275. Next day... Unfortunately I was out $190. I have no idea why Toyota would charge that much money. All the videos online show you that the door panel can be taken apart very quickly, especially if you have the tools. I can't believe the Toyota service people would struggle so much as to charge $648 for a minor task. I will still use them for recalls and such but will definitely research before going to them for minor things. read more

I purchased a used Avalon earlier this year from a private party. I went to Gresham Toyota because the previous owner had serviced the car there. I spoke to the service advisor upfront about bad experiences that I had in the past with other dealer service departments who would recommend unnecessary services. I stressed the importance of that not happening again. They assured me they were not like that and would take care of me. I needed an oil change and key fob replacement. And I wanted to see the vehicle's past service records so we could avoid doing service that had been done before or too early based on manufacturer recommended intervals. I was shocked when they called me up and had over $2,800 in recommendations. One big recommendation was spark plugs at ~$1k. Fuel injection was another recommendation. And transmission service as well despite the previous records indicating that had been done at 60k miles. I questioned why the car would need spark plugs since it had only 84k miles on it. I asked point blank at what mileage does the manufacturer recommend spark plugs be replaced and the service person told me spark plugs should be replaced at 90k miles. I passed on the spark plugs. We continued to go through their other recommendations. In the end I spent $1,072 after accepting some recommendations. Beyond the fob replacement and oil change I agreed to other things (battery corrosion removal, back brake drum work, etc.). I regret doing any of their recommendations now and should have went somewhere else before agreeing to any work beyond the fob replacement and oil change. The following week I checked my car manual and it says one should replace spark plugs at 120k miles. I called gresham toyota again and got a different service tech on the phone and asked them for an Avalon of my type when is it recommended to replace spark plugs and was told 120k. So why were they recommending spark plugs on a car that had only 84k miles?!?!? Ultimately they were recommending ALOT of items well before their need/time to the tune of $2,800+. I need an honest mechanic I can trust. A mechanic that recommends only what needs to be done. A mechanic who ethically won't intentionally try to take advantage of customers. I will never return to Gresham Toyota --- for service or otherwise. They are clearly not honest or trustworthy. They would have gladly taken my $2,800 and done a lot of unnecessary services well before manufacturer recommendations. Who replaces spark plugs on a car that is single owner, was garaged, and had all regular service with only 84k miles ?!? read more

All I wanted to know was whether I had any remaining oil changes under my vehicle package. I have been calling for weeks and it is always a Customer Service rep that is unable to answer this simple question and has always tried to get me to a Service Advisor. Well I have been trying and UNABLE To get a hold to a Service Advisor for the last month. I keep getting told that one will call me back asap by reps. I dealt with Greg who was one of the best things about the place - friendly, low key, and a straight talker, which I really appreciated - I don't react well to being talked down to or bullsh*tted. He got me an exceptional deal too, didn't try to upsell me (he was required to make the pitch for it, of course, but when I told him no thank you, he let it go without another word) and didn't take it personal when I bargained over the price for over an hour.
