TLDR: They literally ruined a road trip for me and didn't even have the decency of reimbursing for towing or the initial diagnostic. DO NOT TRUST THEM TO DO YOUR MAINTENANCE I bought my Kia from RonTonkin Kia a year ago and returned almost two months ago to use my complimentary oil change. A week later, while on the highway at the start of a long-awaited road trip to Utah, my oil plug fell out -- a catastrophic failure that should never happen after a routine oil change. It left me stranded, stressed out, and forced to miss a hotel reservation we had already paid for. I had to get my car towed to the nearest Kia dealership, Weston Kia, where I was told in no uncertain terms: RonTonkin's service tech failed to properly tighten the oil plug. RonTonkin admitted fault and arranged for the car to be towed to their shop for testing. I was told there would be no cost to me. But Weston Kia would not release my car without someone covering the initial diagnostic fee. I paid it, under the reasonable assumption that RonTonkin would reimburse me later, since they were at fault and I was only in this situation because of their negligence. That was my mistake. While they eventually confirmed there was no engine damage, they dragged their feet for four weeks. I had already submitted a request for reimbursement for the towing and diagnostic charges, which was met with complete silence. When I finally picked up my car, the service advisor (Christian) told me I needed to call Kia corporate to get reimbursed -- which made zero sense. Kia corporate, of course, told me what I already suspected: this is a dealership service issue, and it's entirely RonTonkin's responsibility. When I circled back to Christian, he stalled again before ultimately telling me they wouldn't reimburse any of my costs. His excuse? That I "should have used Kia roadside assistance" for the tow (as if people are thinking clearly when their car breaks down in the middle of a road trip due to someone else's mistake), and that there's "no way" for them to reimburse the diagnostic fee. Unbelievable. This shop cost me hundreds of dollars, tons of time, and a road trip I had been looking forward to for months -- and then refused to take full responsibility. Not only was the oil change done incorrectly, but the customer service afterward was evasive, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Save yourself the stress and the risk. Avoid RonTonkin Kia Service Center at all costs

the parts that were left in my car

THIS IS THE ALL TIME WORST DEALERSHIP I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I brought my car in to be fixed after my ignition and window were broken during an attempted burglary. After a week of them having my car, I was informed the day of pick up that they had 'lost' my car, and to make a police report. We rushed over to the dealership where they admitted they had gotten my car running, and drivable, then left it outside with a busted rear window and a broken ignition. My car was damaged to the point that it didn't require a key to start the car, so it had obviously been stolen. In the meantime, I was given a loaner car while waiting for updates on my car from the police. After 2 days of driving the loaner, I noticed the trip permit had expired on 07/12/2025, which was 5 months ago. I had to go out of my way to drive back to the dealership and get the dealer plate so I could legally drive it. As I was leaving, I opened the glove box and found three other loaner agreements from previous customers. These documents included full names, addresses and driver license numbers. Leaving private information in a loaner car is highly inappropriate and a major invasion of privacy. It should have NEVER been left in the car. As for the loaner, I returned it four days before my car was ready because I was as going on vacation. Two days into my vacation, I received an urgent call, demanding I bring the car back because the plates were expired. My car was eventually found and towed back to the dealership for repairs. A week and a half later, they claimed my car was fixed. Even though , there was still glass on my seats and on the floor boards. Clearly they did only a light vacuum and didn't even bother to move my seats to check for any visible glass. Overall, this dealership has cost me a lot of money, time and emotional stress. They have zero regard for quality customer service, accountability and basic professionalism. I have never felt so disrespected in my life, and I will never bring my car back. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else

Dealing with car troubles can be overwhelming. It always seems to arise at the worst time, causing you to feel frantic amidst a life that is already full of surprises. When this happens, you look for someone you feel you can trust to provide you with clear guidance, expectations, and answers. Someone who puts your tensions at ease to the best of their abilities knowing your vehicle is in their care. My experience at Ron Tonkin Kia's Service Center has been far from this. I have brought my vehicle to them for servicing three times over the course of a month. Their communication with me has been minimal, unclear, and blatantly rude. When attempting to reach out to multiple members of the service team, which included Service Advisor Jennifer Lopez and Service Manager Geoff Walker, my questions were not answered, my concerns not addressed, and my time not taken seriously. Instead of taking the time to have a clear and effective conversation, to allow me as a customer to better understand the ongoing issues with my vehicle, I was dismissed as an annoyance and hassle to deal with. I left with my questions unanswered, my concerns not validated, and my vehicle still having issues. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry for years, I understand how stressful it can be. Day in and out you are dealing with people on some of their worst days. I also know from my experience that all people want in these times is someone to listen, take their concerns seriously, and put them at ease. It is unfortunate that the staff at Ron Tonkin Kia have not shown their commitment to their customers. This is an industry that would not be successful without its customers after all. I only hope that in the future they can remember that people are coming to them on some of their worst days, hoping for maybe a little bit of light. After deciding to not proceed with doing business with Ron Tonkin Kia, I was told I could come pick up my vehicle exactly as I left it. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, this was the state it was left in (see attached photos). I can assure you, this is not the state in which I left my vehicle.

The scratch that came with the car

Hi, I bought my 2017 Toyota Pacifica from this dealer about over three months ago now. They were very efficient in getting me a car, but they have not kept their word on getting anything fixed that was broken with the car. The scratch that is now rusting (That they said they would fix) is still there. The six spark plugs had to be replaced (which cost me around $1k ) and the gearbox has started to shift funny. Which means they're a very detailed mechanical inspection is not very detailed or they are just not telling customers what's wrong with the vehicle. I also have still not received my license plate plates. As much as they keep on saying they are wanting to help somehow nothing seems to get fixed, I am very disappointed in this dealership, and if anyone goes there to look for a vehicle, take the car to a mechanic beforehand

I dont even know where to start I'm so upset! So I was looking for my dream car which was a bmw f10 550 for months and after long searching and turning down 3 at other dealerships I decided to go with this one! I clearly ask if there were any scratches dings or dents on the vehicle and they said no and sent a video and it looked great and didn't show anything besides little small chips on the front bumper that I was aware of and that was fine with me! Well after I received it and took it home later that day I noticed that there was a scape on the rear quarter panel that was touched up and a crack in the paint on the top right side quarter panel trim! So then I started a full inspection and noticed that the bottom of the front bumper was scraped! So I eventually washed the car and then some touch up paint came off! They only informed me of the speckles on the front bumper but never showed the bottom in the video nor did they show the top quarter panel trim that had the bigger damages hmm! The amount that I paid for this car it shouldn't have looked like this! If I was to take this through a automatic car wash the paint would probably flake right off from the crack! Eventually it will! Now I have to put more money into this car and have some repainting done! I will be following up with an attorney about this misrepresentation for the repairs that I will have to do! Get ready for small claims court Kia!

After a few hours they called and went over the couple issues they had found and should be replaced which they were very nice and helpful. They found that one control arm had some play in it and should be replaced, the brake vacuum was bad, and one of the window switches auto up didn't work. After taking this to the dealer they fixed the issue and all was well. After driving 100 miles back home we noticed the car didn't handle any bumps or turns very well. We took it to a local mechanic where they found the following wrong with it- Self leveling shock system (air bags and shocks) torn and blown out- $1500 Compressor for shocks burnt out and hasn't been operational for a long time- $1000 Upper passenger control arm causing stability issues and creaking (needs replaced and alignment)- $950 We paid $199 to have them check the important components of a car before buying. Now we are stuck with a bill totaling over $3000 on a vehicle with less than 150 miles from us driving it. Do not take your car here for pre-purchase inspections. These are all common failure points for this vehicle with this many miles as confirmed with multiple other trusted local mechanics in our area. The least they could do is refund this inspection fee to help cover the cost of repairs of a car we wouldn't have bought in the first place if due diligence was done as we trusted it would be.
