My experience ordering a vehicle through Gresham Ford. I submitted the build sheet and was sent a preview to sign and return which I did quickly and was told by Sales Manager David Miller that the order was submitted and was all good to go. I never received a confirmation from Ford and repeatedly called, emailed and texted David and the sales rep to verify the order was in and approved but was dismissed with "it's in and good trust me". I was believing that but it was weeks later I finally received email from David saying my order was in the system originally but when he checked again it had disappeared! He was blaming Ford for taking too many orders and Ford may have purged all orders from Sunday and Monday. I was sceptical that would happen randomly without explanation and did not to any others I know of who ordered on those two days. How that happened I was never told. My order was for a 2023 Maverick and the order book was only open for a few days so I had no chance to re order until 2024 order books open. I went In knowing it was going to be a long wait to receive the truck if it was even built at all considering the supply issues and overwhelming demand but to not even get the chance to be in line after doing my part as asked is frustrating. I relied on reviews on this site and others and was really disappointed. UPDATE: 10/23/22 I was contacted by Sales Manager David Miller with information regarding my order and I feel that it was the fault of Ford that my order disappeared and he offered me an order that had been cancelled by someone else. He says it has been modified to my specifications so we will wait and see what happens. He seems to be trying to make things right and I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I am satisfied by the way things are progressing so far regarding my interactions with Gresham Ford and now it's up to Ford to schedule and build it. UPDATE: On 5/18/2023 my Maverick has been scheduled for July production and all is going as hoped so far. Hopefully there will be no further issues. David Miller has been great to work with after the initial confusion and getting it sorted out. My thanks for he and Damon getting it this far! Update 8/31/23 After 346 days my new Maverick Lariat Hybrid was in my possession and the delivery process as well as communication from David and Damon was great as was the final paperwork and delivery. My (almost) oil change experience at Quick Lane at Gresham Ford on 12/31/2025. I've used Quick Lane at this Ford dealership about 90% of the time since I bought my car in 2013/2014. I know it is a busy place; I typically leave my house around 6am to get there about 30 minutes before they open. That puts me in line, so my car is serviced quickly. Two days ago, I received an email from Gresham Ford that allowed me to sign up for service. I thought I would take some of the stress out of my morning and sign up for 9am. I assumed this meant my car would be pulling in the service bay within 15 minutes on either side of 9 on a typical day. I turned in my keys about 10 minutes prior to 9. At 10am I got an inkling and something wasn't moving as I assumed. All the people, except one, were in the waiting room when I arrived. I decided to get up to make sure my car was in a service bay. It was not. I asked the man running the counter what the ETA for my car would be. He didn't give me an answer right away. He looked at his board at started moving service tickets around to move mine up in the list. He moved me from position seven or eight to three. Which moved my waiting time to 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. He was able to move me up because those cars ahead of me were dropped off and the owners would come get them after they got called. If he didn't do that, conservatively my car would not have been done by noon, but I'm sure much later. I was truly flabbergasted, I asked the man at the counter what my 9am appointment meant to him. He said something to the effect it was to guarantee a spot for me to get in line at 9am. In other words, my 9am internet scheduled appointment meant the same thing as walking in the door at 9am and dropping off my car. A couple of other things he said struck me funny. He said he had nothing to do with the service being performed, he only worked at the counter. I asked him if he went to the dentist for a 9am appointment and wasn't brought in until after 10 how he would feel. He said it wasn't a good comparison and he wasn't a dentist, or something to that effect. After his responses I decided to get my keys and leave. I'm a true believer in making things better so I went in search of a manager to talk to. I talked to one that assured me my input is wanted and the currently unavailable service manager would give me a call. Because I am a person who truly wants to help improve a process here is what I would do. I know I've never been in this business and probably never will be, but I think these are common sense changes that apply to communication, scheduling and customer service. Of course, before any changes are made communicate all changes to your customer base and put them on your website. 1st - Make it mandatory for every appointment to give a conservative ETA of when they think the service being performed is done. This would have saved me an hour because I certainly wouldn't have stuck around when he said there were more than nine cars in front of me. 2nd - Take internet books completely offline or use one of the bays to only service internet appointments. By doing this it will make internet appointments more in line like the rest of any service industry, and more attractive to customers. When I signed up for a haircut at The Barbers, I know I'll be seen around the time of the appointment, not two hours later. 3rd - Ensure you have the right employee at the counter that knows the system, can communicate clearly (has to say NO sometimes) and knows how to empathize with your clientele. The person at the counter today may be that person. I've always been a fan of Gresham Ford and their Quick Lane service. I was blindsided by the level of service I received. The guy at the counter could have been having an off day, he doesn't feel supported by management or at worst, he isn't supported by management. I know the lack of service wasn't just because of the guy at the counter. It started with management and decisions that have been made in the past and was capped off with my interaction with what I experienced today. We'll see if I ever make it back to Quick Lane at Gresham Ford. I wish them the best and I appreciate what they've done a lot for the community. read more

I purchased a new truck at Gresham Ford in 2024 and as part of that purchase I traded in my previous truck. Apparently, someone neglected to file the paper work to report when they later sold the trade-in because it's almost a year later now and I have received three tickets in the mail for a vehicle I no longer own. Fortunately, all the tickets have been dismissed. But each time I have had to provide evidence that I sold the vehicle to Gresham Ford and that I was not the driver pictured in the ticket. AGENCY THAT DEALS WITH THE LEMON LAW IN OREGON I bought a 2023 Ford E Transit Van, fully loaded with approx. 8K in upgrades for my youngest son's company. I have bought many trucks and vans from Gresham Ford since 2005 without issue. I always pay cash ($76,000.00+) with a company check. When my son picked up the van he noticed several factory defects like bare metal, no paint - only primer, paint drips, scratches, painters tape stuck in the paint, windshield and driver side window being badly scratched. They said take it home and bring it back in a few weeks to fix, so he did. It was with Gresham Ford for 4+ months and when we finally said enough is enough they told us that they never took it to the paint shop and they only repaired the glass, after lying to us for 4+ months. They kept telling us it was at the shop and the shop is severely busy etc etc. Then Their excuse was that Ford Motor Company will not fix it, so we contact FMC and they drag this on for months until we get an email of a denial! At first FMC said they would buy the van back or maybe give us a fuel operated van just like this electric van but then they said they will not and GRESHAM FORD flat out refused to fix anything but the glass and we had to argue. When my son picked the van up at Gresham Ford it has NEW Damage, a dent in the side while it sat at their lot for 4+ months. This van is not only defective but it is FRAUD as it does not get 180+ miles per charge as stated rather it gets 60 miles per full charge at best and it costs more to operate then a fuel Transit van. This van is not usable for a company that drives around Pdx all day. It also now has a major recall and other issues. Other dealers admitted to us that they are stopping making these vans because they are lemons, they used the word LEMON and it truly is. We have a brand new pc of scrape metal basically and FMC and Gresham Ford refuse to even reply any more. We talked to other Ford dealers and they said this is a bad story and worse yet no one wants one of these vans because of exactly what we are going through. We simply want a full refund OR a 2023 Fuel Transit van of equal value, fully loaded like this one. We are at a loss and GRESHAM FORD IS STONEWALLING US, how do we get this massive Ford Motor company to stop stealing from us and make Gresham Ford act legally? Ford admits these vans are junk and they do not want it back, this is blatant Theft and GREED. In all of the years I have bought F series vehicles from Gresham Ford I never received this kind of treatment, the blatant, cavalier LYING and DECEPTION is disgusting. I dropped my car off for a recall repair and was told they had to keep the car for 3 days. They didn't have rental cars available for me to use until my car was repaired. In my opinion, this place didn't do what i asked of them. It was a simple request and they failed to find the problem and then they charged me a ridiculous amount, then on the way home a leak appeared as soon as the truck built up pressure in the cooling system. I found the part needed was on national back order, so i had to go through a internet auto parts and i had to replace it myself and after I replaced the part no more leaks. Very Disappointed in the service and the mechanic who didn't do a proper diagnosis. And Bess there was not a budget to work with as that must be a catch phrase i never gave a dollar amount, now i wish i had due to the amount you charged me for doing nothing to fix the problem. We've been a Gresham Ford customer for years and once again they didn't disappoint as I had a fairly specific truck in mind with a budget that didn't have a lot of flexibility. Christine Davis was a huge help in this process, she was very patient in helping us find exactly what we wanted as we had a handful of "musts" with a few "nice to haves". I would leave zero stars if there was an option. I seldom post negative reviews. I've never had worse service and more blatant disrespect and gaslighting when dealing with an auto shop. They don't want your business and don't care about helping resolve issues with your vehicle while trying to maintain a facade of being all about customer service e and satisfaction. I was ghosted for weeks, dispiterepeated attempts to get a phone call from the service department and numerous voice mails. They sent me some very rude text messages, saying they've been too busy to give me a call back.There are several safety recalls, They are the only ones in the region certified to work on this model. I thought I would get a work estimate amount my recall repairs addressed based on fords website. You would think this would be something the service department would tell me when they had the car for a month, supposedly doing a diagnostic check. Instead I had to inform them, and when I did they told me to get my car off their lot in the next 24 hours or they would have it impounded. The management put in a battery and said they diagnosed the car, which was a lie. She was dismissive and condescending when I asked why she couldn't put my vehicle on the baglog of repairs. I had work and couldn't get there by the arbitrary deadline the following day. The car didn't run still but they wanted it gone. She made several derogatory slurs dispite me being a paying customer, had towed my car then billed me for it. I wouldn't trust them to do an oil change. Don't waste your time. My car has been at their service department for two days, and so far... "crickets." No update whatsoever. I attempted to call twice with no response until late in the day three days in - the first call was supposedly messaged to the service advisor, the second went to general voicemail. I should've learned from my experience trying to buy tires here a while back when none of my inquiries were responded to at all. Once I did get a callback, the only explanation was that my car hadn't even been looked at yet, and that they "haven't been able to get to anything quickly for a while." That would have been very helpful to know when I made the appointment. True there is a wait time to get work done but that's simply because their service department us excellent and so they are always busy. A good problem to have. In the past I was told just drop the vehicle off and we will get to it when we can. No way. Just give me a flipping appointment so I have an idea of when it will be looked at. OWe came in today because we had a recall on our 2012 Fusion. We also needed an oil change and new rear brakes. All was good getting started, the brake quote was higher than the coupon, but I was told to present the coupon when I returned, and they would adjust the price. I got a call that the recall and brakes were finished. I asked about the oil change, they "forgot" to add it, but said they would have it done quickly and called me an hour later when finished. Upon picking up my car, they couldn't figure the coupon out. The lady asked several people and then she gave me some excuse as to why the coupon wouldn't work. It was supposed to be 99.95 per axle, but whatever, she wasn't budging. They finally got my car for me, the lady asks, "has your car been stalling lately" as I get into my vehicle... No, it hadn't. I didn't even make it out of the lot before the car stalled and killed on me. I went right back in. They said they didn't do it. It wasn't them. They were going to need to "see" what was happening. Seriously, I was about to lose my head, I was livid. They give me some story about my battery being bad or something, (it's less than a year old) saying the car needs to relearn itself, since the battery cables were disconnected during servicing. I went home as my car continued to stall out all the way back to Portland. I get there and go through my paperwork, something they should have went over with me when I picked up my vehicle. I was told nothing, only what I owed. I see quite a few things they should have discussed with me. They decided to replace my headlight and charge me without even asking me?? $26.90??? I could have replaced the bulb myself for less than $10, but I didn't know the light was out. Apparently I have a nail in my rear tire?? Did they take it out? Fix it? I don't know. I also see a small receipt where they did a battery test, it says it needs replacing!!!! Are you freaking kidding me??? When were they going to tell me that? Maybe that's why the car is stalling. Seriously disappointed. My daughter took her car here for repairs. After almost a month the car was given back repairs were not complete. According to Carl the "right hand front wheel barring" is bad. Hard to believe this went unnoticed before given back. Then, She asked for a loaner car (the insurance won't cover a 2nd loaner as this was the dealers mistake) and was told no. When she pressed the issue Carl said," were not holding your car hostage you can take it" Carl, I'm not sure if you have kids, but I prefer my kids safe and I do not appreciate you and your team not owning the issue and giving them a loaner. I guarantee you would have one provided for yourself and your family. Very poor business practice a basic google search tells me what I'm sure you already know! It's not safe to drive. For you to even suggest my daughter drove this off the lot is poor judgment on your behalf. Carrie Bess: How the car was damaged is irrelevant. Was that in hopes to make her look silly? In 2018, I bought a ford transit van and still love it up to today. The staff did a great job meeting my expectations. I have moved my office from California to Portland after the university I worked at has shut it down and needed a van to help me deliver food. After going online and collaborating with coworkers (people who do relationships counseling with me) , we have our van ready. I have to say a few days later the van is available with everything I need. They sold it to me at a fair price and also did a test drive with me to demonstrate the capabilities of what a personalized refrigerator van can do. They explained the features and general information with extreme clarity. No dealer in the US can do so. If you love your business give it a fleet from a dealer that treated you with respect. Also to all the staff here, you are very sweet. I wish all dealerships in the US can be professional like you. "Mr. Wang, your van awaits, should I show you how the features work?" Over the past 2 years Gresham Ford has completed lost all values. They won't honor recalled parts if you're even a month past deadline. My husband was forced to pay out of pocket for the parts that quit working, as the recall said they would. We were without a second vehicle over two months! Worse, they wouldn't allow my Elderly Veteran Dad to use a $100 off coupon he had in his truck glovebox. They told him he had to pay before he was allowed in his truck. They replaced his brakes but did not check the entire brake system. 2 short months later the pads and other issues went wrong due to not being done at the same time as the brakes. He had to pay $2300 more to fix issues that could have been prevented if the technician had done their job correctly. Five employees surrounded my parents. One specifically was trying to intimidate them. My mom felt afraid. My parents ended up leaving because the employees were not listening or helping any concerns. These are elderly minorities on a fixed income. Then the employee who was intimidating my parents (Ryan C Johnson) posted my dad's NAME on a group site of 25,000 members. He used my father's name, the type of truck and listed details of every visit Gresham Ford has documented in their computer system. BIG NO NO! Shameful! read more
