I don't feel that their price structure is completely fair. They quoted me a price of $129 to replace my cabin air filter on a Dodge charger. And this is what I got when I googled it. The average cost for a Dodge Charger Cabin Air Filter Replacement is between $49 and $56. I just called Jiffy Lube and they quoted me a price of $49. All I can say is beware of add-ons! read more

I have used Master Tech twice over the last couple of months, once on my Civic and then on my CRV. They go over your car extensively upon receipt. They wrote up a report on the findings and recommended fixes. I appreciate how well they communicate and keep me informed about the quotes, progress, and work performed. Unfortunately my check engine light is now on for cylinder misfires in addition to the other things that weren't taken care of (such as the original reason for the check engine light). When I spoke to MTA about the check engine light a couple months ago and mentioned that I was disappointed that after a full engine rebuild I still dealing with issues, they responded and said that they just replaced the long block. I am pissed that they told me a full rebuild would be done and then said that they just replaced the long block. I spent $15,000 for my engine to be rebuilt. If I spent the money to 1. Buy a new engine 2. Ship the engine and was told that 3. They would be using parts from both engines to make one that works... is that not a full engine rebuild? I understand that I'm a girl and don't know a lot about cars, but that doesn't mean that they should be taking advantage of me and my situation. On average a long block replacement can cost between 1,500 and 4,000. So why would I be paying $15,000 for just the long block replacement? I am a full time college student with a very limited income and no other vehicular options. I would not recommend this business to anyone. They may be kind, but they will take advantage of you. They said they would help with anything related to the work they did, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I would end up costing me especially with them "offering" to change my spark plugs for a measly $400. Don't come here unless you wanna pay up the butt for a car that still has issues at the end of service (which was a month and a half in my case). read more

These mechanic are unable to even bleed a clutch line. Replaced a brand new master cylinder for no reason then proceeded to lie and tell me I had a problem with my transmission. All that was needed is the clutch line bled which is a 50$ job read more

I brought my Subaru to Master Tech for a simple oil change last week. They put in the oil filter incorrectly and all the oil leaked out all over my driveway. Another service fixed the filter and re-added the 5 quarts of oil that are now all over the roads and my driveway. This is an extremely serious mistake, one of the worst you can possibly make and it almost cost me the entire engine. Avoid Master Tech if you value your car's engine. read more

Do not take your car here unless you like to waste your money !!! This is the second car I took to them which I DID not want to do but they are 2 blocks from me and I thought I'd give them another chance. They did the inspection and then told me it was the alternator and they wanted $700 to replace it. And costed me $200 for an inspection. That's 900 to them now if I got my Alternator replaced there. Mind you I told them it's a brand new alternator my husband put in like 2 weeks before I took it too them (he is back on base now in a different state and can't do it again for me) the VERY next day after taking it too them my lower ball joint slipped off my tire and pulled the axle shaft out !!! After having a personal mechanic look at it he said somehow it just got loose and come off because all the bolts and everything was still there the only thing that needed too be replaced was the axle shaft because of it getting pulled out it got damaged. Which in the email all they said was that there was "play" in that area during the inspection so they couldn't of tightened it for me or something or told me what it was instead of saying there was play I don't even know what that means. Doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. Anyway that same mechanic I had too pay him too take my alternator out and take it too O'Reillys too get my replacement one since I have a warranty on it and they tested it and said the alternator was perfectly fine!! So yeah I've wasted money here not once but twice ! My other car is a whole other story. read more

I didn't want to tell him who was actually gonna pay for it out of embarrassment it's mental health program that helps people out , I could just imagine what he would day about that. Overall our experience with Master Tech Automotive was very positive in every aspect!! I really appreciate when a mechanic is honest and clear about what to expect regarding both the timeframe and overall cost. They are very thorough and extremely professional. MTA had our car ready for pickup in less than two days. In that time they kept us in the loop each step via text and email. Our check engine light was intermittently coming off and on, plus had a few other issues. They addressed the exact issues we had come in for and didn't try to up-sell us or pressure us for other services. I also appreciated that they sent us a link for a digital 46 point inspection for our car which included photos of our car and the work being done. The website also showed us the overall health of our car and what they would be addressing. When it comes to getting your car fixed of there are sketchy people out there, and businesses that will try to scam you or cut corners - this is not one of those businesses. DO NOT use this shop. I just had my truck in for service to the AC system, and for leaking oil cooler lines. i paid $1800 plus to have the AC system recharged, and added on an oil change, brakes adjustment, rear differential service, and i thought the oil cooler lines replaced a this was the orginal request. This outfit does not go over any diagnosis, instead using a text message to have you approve or dissaprove work. evidently i checked the wrong box and as i thought the lines were replaced, they only wiped eeverythign clean. My mistake, but no verification or conversation. So, i still have oil all over and a bunch of added services i didn't really need, but thought, what the heck.. thought they were legit. Nice shop, terrible customer service. You're better off going to the dealership for service to be honest! Oh, i also returned to have the leaks checked and nothign was conveyed as far the pool of oil coatin the pan and transmission, which i only found with the continuing burning oil smell, and a crawl under the vehicle. instead i had an service light appear and after a costly diagnosis, it was an unplugged evap purge valveconnection. No one had hands under the hood for over a year, but it wasn't them that unpluuged it and may left it that way. No way/...but we'll charge you to plug it back in..... if you have deep pockets, want zero customer interaction, and prefer to rely on a text message for everything, this is your place and good luck! Oh, they were alos not able to tell me the knocking and squeeking comeing from my front end were my body mounts.....because, everything looks mechanically sound. Well, everything but the body mounts. I recently purchased a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I wanted someone to perform a safety inspection on it. I called Master Tech Automotive, and Darren said that they could perform such an inspection. I dropped off the Jeep the night before and the inspection was done by 10 o'clock the next day. For the inspection, they provided me with a detailed report that included photos and notes about the problems that they had found, along with recommendations for other services. They also provided me with an itemized estimated cost sheet for the repairs that included parts and labor for the services. Once we agreed on what services that I wanted performed they completed the work in about a day. It was very fast. I know mechanics are always a big issue for people as they are always afraid they are going to get cheated. I bought a 1996 Jeep, so even though they repaired and service it according to what we agreed upon, I know that there is a chance something else will go wrong with it. And if that's the case I will take it back to Master Tech for repairs. They have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau - GOOD! And the shop is very clean, another good sign! They also have a contract with TechNet for a limited warranty and towing, should need it, if they perform a certain amount of service on your vehicle. The team was very professional and courteous and I would highly recommend their shop to anyone! All in all, a great experience! read more

You can pay almost half the price taking your car to "a guy with a shop", but if you want something correctly diagnosed and properly fixed the first time, nobody does it better than MTA. They'll give you the full picture of what's going on with your vehicle, lay out the options and costs, and then leave the decision up to you. read more

I do not trust these people. I had just paid them over $1000 for "Preventative Maintenence " and driving home the check engine light on my dashboard came on. I took the car back to Master Tech and they were going to charge me again to see what the check engine light was referring to and then of course charge me to fix whatever that was. Under the circumstances I thought that was outrageous so I took it to another mechanic down the street who opened up the hood just looked it inside and found out that Master Tech when they did the maintenance work did not put the top back on the engine properly that's why it said check engine. This other mechanic did not charge me a dime and Master Tech was going to charge me to do that after I had just paid Master Tech $1000!!! I will not be taking my car back to them read more

I was originally excited about taking my car here because everyone seemed super nice and the customer service seemed A+ but I ended up not happy in the end. I took my Chevy in to get the air conditioner fixed as it was leaking water into my passenger side when on. They quoted me $180 to get a clog out that they suspected (and an oil change, no problem with that). I happily paid it but after picking up my car, the next time I drove it it was leaking again AND now the fan only worked on the max level and that definitely was NOT happening before I took it in. I was told I could bring it back in and they would see what they could do. Well when I show up they tell me that it would be $1400 to fix it now and that was the only option offered to me. Not even a "we can take a look at it again" or "we can give you a partial refund" or "we can put that $ toward this service." I would think that they would guarantee their work and fix it if they didn't get it right the first time or at least fix the fan. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I don't feel like I can afford to pay $1400 just to get my air conditioner fixed, especially when they left it in worse condition than when I took it in. I wish I could say I had a great experience here but I just didn't. read more

Let me paint you a picture. 3/4 Ton dodge towing a travel trailer keeps losing oil pressure. You are 3 hours from home and its late on a Thursday early evening. Solo dad with a toddler. Knowing most shops are closed on weekends. Pretty crappy situation to be in. Till he dealt with this shop. They understood the situation and did everything in their power to get my husbands truck up and running less than 24 hours later. Worst experience at a mechanic, ever. I walked in saying that all I needed was an oil change for my car. The gentleman (Todd, I believe) began speaking to me as if I were an idiot. He jumped to the conclusion that I must need oil because I had hit something, causing a crack/leak. Naturally, I couldn't be an early 20 something that just needed an oil change and was far from home. While I look and sound like I'm in my young twenties, Todd didn't know he was belittling a doctoral candidate with the diction to pummel his choice words into mush. They completed my routine oil change for double what the dealership charges me, told me it had to do with the difference in bulk oil costs. I have gotten the same procedure done at several other small establishments such as MTA for less than the dealership, even with the cost of high grade oil these days. I was given a lecture about how it wasn't a good decision to purchase such a vehicle (hybrid) because while they save me in gas the routine maintenance can be a large expense. I was then told that I was getting off easy because the bill was free of labor costs. I review the bill, see that they have in fact included labor in my total. After questioning it, being told that I must be reading it wrong, specifically pointing to the line that says labor costs with a total, and coming to a conclusion before Todd, I realized I was in the presence of an incoherent dunce. I give up, you're incorrigible Todd and MTA. Thank god they called me today to ask how my $95 oil change was going with my car. They also encouraged me to leave reviews on all 4 of their review sites for a chance to win a $250 prepaid visa! No problem MTA, hope I win! Bottom line: if you look young, don't go here. NEVER GO HERE Worst experience ever! I made an appointment to bring my old ford truck for a tune up and timing. I picked this place based on the reviews on-line and I wanted to support a local business. I felt comfortable with my decision. That change quick. First he said he would be calling me soon with a estimate. I called him 2.5 hrs later and he was extremely short with me on the phone. I just was excited about getting my truck running better. I love my truck. After the phone call I felt upset and scared that I left my truck there. He seemed mad at me. He's attitude always made me feel uncomfortable. When he finally did call back he said he couldn't do anything to the truck because it needed a new carburetor. Darn I was afraid of that. No big deal I"m glad he was honest. When I got there to pick it back up it was right at closing, but I needed my truck for the next day. He opened the door and turned the lights back on (It was still 5 minutes to 5 o"clock), and got the invoice ready. He charged me $110.95! Yeah I signed a paper that it was going to be $99.95 just to look at it. I signed it because he said he was going to time the engine with that fee. Keep in mind there has been nothing done to make the truck run better. I am picking up what I dropped off. I then asked why the price was different and he said, because of the materials we had to use in the shop. Now I'm curious. I checked all the liquid levels before bringing it in. Had just about a full tank of gas. So I ask him, what materials? Did you have to put something in it? He response, no joke, We had to use chemicals and rags. WHAT? So you had to wash your hands? This was the worst experience I ever had to pay for! Its been a few days and I still can't shake the feeling of being treated so badly. read more

I get my oil done here and I took it in for some other issues with my vehicle and I have received nothing but excellent service! They charged for a part to be shipped and it ended up not being needed so they refunded me my money when they could have just as easily taken the money and I would have never known. Just wait to hear it all... Brought my 99 F150 in to replace radiator and possible heater core. They repaired the radiator quick and easy at a good price. The price they quoted me for the heater core shocked the heck out of me... I called a couple of other shops and found they were pretty much spot on. A little more, but not much. I decided to let them do the work. The previous owner of the truck had gotten in and created all kinds of issues like cutting the dash/ heater box and trying to glue it back together. The guys took the time to explain everything to me. It took an extra day to get a part, but they kept me in the loop every step. They were able to fix an extra issue I had with my gear shifter and even gave me a break on the price for the delay. I was treated very well by All the staff. BE AWARE! Over priced and selling unnecessary services. Here's my story 9/2014. Have gone here for years of LOF's and a brake job. Recently had a LOF and was told I needed to have the following services: Transmission fluid changed $270, Brake fluid changed $140 fluids and needed to replace and two air filters replaced $160. Estimate: $570.00 Didn't ring true to me. Called a local transmission shop. Work done for $50.00!!!!! Read owners manual nothing is mentioned on brake fluid so called an independent shop service was told they are only selling a service and wasn't necessary. It's only if brakes are replaced. Went to an national chain automotive supply store and purchased both air filters for $24.06 and watched a YouTube video for 6 minutes and replaced the filters myself and taking me less than 15 to replace both filters. Had a wonderful experience today. Went in to get my A/C checked out because it wasn't working on my 2006 PT Cruiser. Now it is in working condition and only took a couple of hours. Runs great so far and was told to come back if it has a problem again and to come in in a week so that they can check for any leaks. Plus they provide you with a complimentary 1 year of Road Service too. They were all very polite and provided me with coffee, crackers and also bottled water. Great place. read more
