I had the top end of my motor rebuilt after lifter failure. He double charged all the parts (Verified by parts dealers) I had a follow up problem he took care of which is always a plus. Very honest repair shop. I first went to the Ford dealership and they diagnosed my car with a bad TCM. And it was too expensive so i was recommended 3C automotive. My dad and I went in and got an appointment it took a week for them to actually look at it, but when they did, they found out that it was actually a different problem and refunded us for the part they ordered! So I ended up spending a lot less than I thought I would and that always feels good. I will definitely come back if I need to in the future and I really do recommend them! On Jan. 27th, I took my well-maintained, excellent running 06 Tacoma pickup, with no issues of any kind, to 3C's automotive (referred by a reputable transmission shop), for a simple transmission service. Super long story short... bottom line, is they installed a faulty filter which caused a low-pressure issue in the transmission. Instead of figuring that out, they told me I needed a new transmission. Luckily, I had a knowledgeable ex-husband to help me and we got the referring shop involved. It was determined, they had installed a faulty filter. FOR A FAULTY FILER, THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION, SERIOUSLY One of many words that come to mind here is... Shyster. What if.. when I was told I needed a new transmission, I believed them? What if I would have told them to go ahead and fix it? I can't help but believe, I wouldn't have been charged for a new transmission. I'm a 62-year-old woman, and alone checking in the truck... What if it was your mother, wife, or daughter, would you trust your vehicle with someone that "tests the waters" to see if you'll pay for expensive "unnecessary" repairs and have damage, that their work created? I was raised in Gresham and I plan on sharing my story with everyone I can. I don't want to see anyone taken advantage of by 3C's Automotive. I've been taking my car here for years . I needed a clutch replaced and was given the bottom line quote . The staff is great . And the service is acceptable. Unfortunately their prices have gone up considerably in the last few years . I could not afford their quote . My brother told me to call his mechanic and they were able to do it for $250 less . I took my sons truck to Roy three times. He was suppose to rebuild the top half of the truck $2500. The first time he charged me for parts he did not replace. When I asked about he said it was a mistake and paid me back...but the truck was running horrible and leaking trans fluid so we took it back. He said it was a seal he forgot to replace and charged me $500. He said he replaced the battery...but he didnt...called him on it and he said must have been a mistake...gave the money for the battery back. Got it back again #2 runs horribly, miss firing and won't go over 50 and smoking...it is an 8 cylinder that never smoked before. Work is supposed to be under warranty...but he doesn't stand behind his work. He had the truck the third time for 2 months. Got it back ...smoke still and miss fires, runs horrible. Frustrated. I have seen Roy wrestle with tricky problem on one of our cars for a week and a half. He persisted, and did find a solution. I am not ignorant of mechanical things. Really great and honest service. I only heard of them from a charity auction. I bought 4 oil changes that they donated. I came in and they quickly took my car in and we're very kind. Roy really knows what he's doing and doesn't make you question it. He even diagnosed a few other things while I was there for just an oil changed. He didn't pressure me to fix or purchase anything. The Oil changes he offers are on average $10-20 Less than the regular price Jiffy lube, or Oil Can Henry's job. The only bummer is that you do need to make an appointment. read more
