My parents bought a 2018 iM from this place. It's now 2021 and the paint is peeling in all sorts of different places. For a 3 year old car this is pretty unacceptable. We called Gresham Toyota and their response was "your car is out of warranty so we can't help you" Here's the kicker, they have KNOWN issues with the white color for doing this EXACT thing which they have a recall for. So, they have known issues with paint, my parents car is peeling but, because it's out of warranty you can't help us? I can tell you right now, you shouldn't buy anything from a them. Nor Toyota for that matter. I'd give it less stars if I could. read more

We bought my wife's RAV4 from Gresham Toyota. During the sale, we were highly pressured to purchase warranties and protection plans. We declined, and declined, and declined and the gentleman pitching us told us about the wheel and tire protection plan. He told us if anything happened to the tires or wheels from other than wear & tear, they'd be replaced. He went as far as telling us a scenario where all four wheels would need to be replaced because they didn't match - Toyota would replace all four. He assured it was a "must have" and we wouldn't regret it. Fast forward four months later, the sidewall of the tire was split on my wife's RAV4. We took it to Toyota and pointed out that we had the tire and wheel protection plan. The service department said ok, and gave us the price for four new tires. I explained this would be covered under the plan, and repeated all of the information the gentleman told us when we bought the vehicle. They said unfortunately that's not true, and asked if we wanted to buy the tires. I then complained and repeated this information to the manager, the general manager, and the "customer relations department." It all fell on deaf ears... I'll never buy another vehicle from Gresham Toyota. They're snake oil sales tactics might have fooled me once, but they won't fool me again. I first started shopping at Gresham Toyota back in 2014 where I purchased a brand new Toyota tundra I was so happy with the service and how I was treated that two days later I returned and purchased a brand new 2014 RAV4. In the course of the last six years Gresham Toyota has only done my service and they have been my go to for excellent customer service. In 2021 I purchased a brand new Toyota 4Runner, never once have I ever questioned Gresham Toyota's loyalty integrity and quality of service until now. Last Friday I took my 4Runner in for its annual service 2/18/22 I requested that the tires get rotated and balanced because I was getting a vibration in the steering wheel, after waiting in the lobby for two hours I got my vehicle back, as I left the dealership and got out onto Highway 26 Reaching Highway speeds I noticed that the problem still existed not having the time to turn around and take it back to the dealer because I was getting ready to go on a trip to Bend I figured I would just deal with it and return on Monday 2/21/22 which was an absolute disaster I waited another 2 1/2 hours in the lobby for them to fix an issue that I already paid them to fix right the first time. When the work was finally done the tech told me that all the wheels were out of balance like the original tech didn't know what he was doing. 2/15/22 In the market for a new Tacoma I consulted sales "professional" Scott M Who put my name on a list to receive The next white SR5 Tacoma coming in, the vehicle finally came in I received a call from Scott and before I could secure the funds with the bank the vehicle was sold out from under me because they don't except deposits, Frustrated I contacted management where I was put on another list to receive another white Tacoma that was supposed to come in on 2/20/22, I received information stating that vehicle was delayed until the 24th. During this four day period Scott was unresponsive I asked him several times To give me a breakdown on the cost of this truck because I was paying with a cashiers check and I needed an exact amount Scott seemed to be very irritated by this, I was able to get the exact amount eventually but took a lot of prying, I noticed that there was something called an "adventure package" for 997.00 dollars the first item includes four pieces of plastic film on the door seal and inside the door handle for 199.00. The second item includes small anti-theft labels throughout the vehicle 399.00. the third item Is one year of paintless dent removal for 399.00. " if I was worried about dents I wouldn't be buying a truck" I live on the mountain how about including touch up paint for rock chips? The point I'm trying to make is the adventure package is a joke this Is Gresham Toyota's price gouge this is their markup beyond MSRP these three items were all included on my 21 4Runner that I never paid any additional for. The dealerships that are not charging above MSRP are Ron Tonkin Toyota, Vancouver Toyota, Damian Lillard Toyota of McMinnville, Toyota of Portland, and Wilsonville Toyota was the only Toyota dealership I found that was charging under MSRP. 217.00 to be exact. When I brought my concerns up to Scott he took my name off of the reservation that I had for the truck that I was waiting for to come in on 2/24/22 and sold it to somebody else, never once did I tell him to remove my reservation from that vehicle and I was considering going elsewhere He took it upon himself to remove me without authorization and burn a loyal customer that could have shopped elsewhere in the thick of covid for my 21 4Runner, I again contacted management that got me connected with a different sales professional. I spoke with her a couple times on the phone she was very nice and very helpful, thinking about the scenario and what has occurred unfortunately I can no longer do business with Gresham Toyota it seems once swickard took over their quality of service has gone down the drain. There is no reservation on a vehicle it's first come first serve and whoever is willing to pay as much money as possible this dealer has gotten filthy. If somebody else comes along that might be financing they make that money on the backend they will take your name off the reservation, And sell to someone else Gladstone Toyota and Beaverton Toyota are charging Over msrp as well. read more

Of all the cars I test drove (Honda, Subaru, Mazda) Shig was the most knowledgeable about the car, its details, differences in models, etc. I felt ZERO pressure, and they didn't have the car I wanted new in stock, but he took my information, asked for a few details on what I was looking for, and then two days later when a car came in that met my needs he contacted me. Mechanical repair shop is not good Unfortunately, they are not up to what would be expected of a dealer shop. I don't mind paying more for great service, but these folks fall far short of the mark. Spent $6,000 plus dollars to get my truck repaired, not a big deal... it took 5 multi-day visits to the shop! It was in over 14 workdays to get fixed. Also, recently went back against my better judgement and had a know-nothing "service" person tell me it would cost $185 to get my trouble codes read... she didn't know the difference between reading trouble codes and a repair estimate. This was my first and last time I will be going to this dealership. I arrived to my appointment for an oil change on time but had to wait 30 minutes just to get someone to acknowledge me to get me checked in. Then I was told it would take 1 1/2 hours for the oil change and someone would text me when they were done. After waiting almost 3 hours without a word I decided to see what was taking so long and saw my car sitting out in front. I asked why no one text me and was told my service rep went to lunch. They told me there were no issues with my truck but when I got home one of the cables was obviously loose and hanging down. Could Toyota not take the extra couple minutes to tighten the cable? Brought my truck in for routine maintenance and couple days before check engine light appears. I pay for warranty maintenance package also. They want to charge me $190 dollars to run there computer to tell me what's wrong as I'm talking to the manager I say I can get done for free at autozone and he then lied to my face I won't be able to figure out the code. Well 5 min at autozone free scan and it's a loose gas cap. They wanted to charge me $190 for a loose gas cap. Needless to say for what autozone did for free this dealership lost out on my business and a good chance of two cars that would been sold this year. Sold me a used truck that they reported they had replaced the rear brakes for. As it would turn out, they flat out lied. The sales manager Josh said "I don't know anything about cars, I just sell em" They knowingly sold me a vehicle under fraudulent pretenses. I would avoid buying anything from or doing any sort of business with them. They are all shady and the environment there is toxic, likely as a result of their managers such as Josh who I swear said he doesn't know anything about cars, he just sells them. It was a horrible experience that just wasted my time and now it will take longer for me to buy another car until it's all resolved with the credit reporting agencies. I am honestly sad I have to write this: I was in Gresham Toyota 6 months ago to purchase a 2016 Rav4, found what I thought I was looking for and received in-house financing. The rate was high, but with my history I wasn't too surprised. What I didn't expect was to be sold a defective vehicle that would require such serious repairs so soon after being bought. The symptoms of the issues started showing up within a month or two of buying the car, but I hoped it was simply getting used to the new car. The mechanic who has diagnosed the problem with the brakes (most of the rotor-caliper assembly) said that it would have been present at time of purchase. This means that either there was little to nothing done to address the problem, or a lack of competence to recognize something fairly simple. I'm not sure what happened and why the car was in the condition it was in, but on top of these car issues, I was also told by different people what insurances/warranties I had. I was told different things, and put through to different people with a variety of different answers. I'm happy to say I didn't end up taking my car back in to Gresham Toyota as a result. This feels like some fairly predatory business practices, that perhaps they saw a little girl they could take advantage of, instead of a 25 year-old woman making a major life purchase. read more

Oh, where do I begin.?? I have been a customer of them for over 6 years. I have sent family and friends... the most recent time was about 6 months ago and I swear I will never send anyone here again. Let me try to summarize. They promised me a "referral incentive" I sent 2 people to purchase their car. 6-7 months later, nothing. I've checked on the sales lady, she confirmed that the GM was working on it. I would post up text proof, but I feel like that's not necessary. It's not even about the incentive that they promised me. It's about the ethics of it now. They will tell you things when they need their SALE, once they have it, the customer experience will go from a 7-8 to a 0 real fast. This was our first time buying from a dealership vs a private seller. We did end up paying more than we wanted, but considering the ongoing shortage of used cars, I'm still happy with the negotiations. The salesman did ask a couple inappropriate, personal questions and didn't seem too knowledgable, but the sales manager stepped in to fill in the gaps and was easier to work with. The finance guy was super nice and walked us through everything painlessly, and we're stoked about our new-to-us car. On the last step of paperwork, though, we were told this car happened to not have DEQ testing done, so now that's on my to do list, too. But, despite the minor annoyances, I imagine we'll be back in the future. read more

Customer service has always been great! Very nice helpful service reps. I have had an issue in the past with them repairing something and it not being the the problem and being charged again to "try something else". I stalled in the intersection after pulling out of the service driveway and had to turn around and take it back in. I personally do not have the money to just keep fixing something until they figure out what is wrong. They basically told me that they were not going to put a part in my car and not get paid for it even though that did not fixed the problem and they had to put something else in there. So I paid for something that was not needed. The repair basically ended up twice as much as I would have needed to pay, if they would've figured it out the first time. I would probably go there again, but I am a little cautious. The last time I waited for almost two hours for an oil change (which is usually the case). Their Express, has never been express. At least not for me. Waiting in their lobby was like listening to someone scratching on a chalkboard the last time I was there. Infants screaming, kids running around, staff popping balloons. I don't know if I just have gotten so used to quiet during this pandemic, or what but it was so loud in there that I probably should've just got a chair and sat outside. Then lastly, there were a bunch of employees with their mask protecting their chins. Why bother... Again, I will continue to go to them (being a certified Toyota service dept) but have found myself a little cranky and less impressed the last few times. read more

This is our new car buying experience. I start seriously looking using the Consumer Reports service that is actually provided by True Car and they gave my contact info to 3 sort of local dealers (2 local and 1 not so). All local dealers had very similar pricing for the car we were interested in. We had a very pleasant test drive and liked the car and the sales person so we went in to negotiate price. I knew that the negotiations would be for the value of our trade-in and both dealers we visited used the Kelley Blue Book value. However, my trade-in was a very low mileage, sought after sports car with several extras that weren't taken into account. When they told us what they would give us for the car they deducted an additional $650 (If I remember correctly) to make my nearly pristine car detailed. (I know I should have sold the car myself, but it was worth quite a bit of money and I was uncomfortable dealing with unknown people.) BTW, we did negotiate a slightly better price. The other knock was how hard they pushed the extended warranty. At first the just added it to the paper work and I had to ask to have it removed. Our sales person then went into a song and dance about how much it cost to replace the computers. Then when we went in to the finance guy he again tried to sell the plan. After saying no a couple of times, he offered $500 off, but I still said no and had to do it several times. In fairness to the dealership, all auto dealers do the same thing, just be aware it is going to happen. As for my 3 star rating. I can't imagine many new car dealers getting better than 3 stars. They almost all use the same tactics. (We did have a better experience when we bought our Honda at Dick Hanna through the Costco program, but we had no trade-in to haggle over and had no hard sell on the extended warranty.) read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. We had our pre approved financing when we went to buy a car there. Our pre approved loan was in the CUDL system. They ran our credit reports again and we took a significant hit on our credit scores as a result of that action. I foolishly provided my email address and have received as many as 50 emails a day for anything one could imagine. What should have been a two, maybe three hour transaction took nearly five hours. I always get my oil changed at the Gresham Toyota and the service is usually good but unfortunately they lack consistency in service. There are times that my oil change finishes in only 30 minutes which I appreciate the timeliness. But there are other times where the oil change is finished in 45 minutes but I notice the front seat gets vacuumed and there's a complimentary water bottle. The price is always something that isn't consistent as well, it seems that the prices fluctuate every time I go in and usually it will be higher. I would like to continue going to Gresham Toyota, but with the lack of consistency it is hard to trust that I'll get the same service everytime I go in. read more

I didn't make a fuss about it because I wanted the vehicle, but be advised they WILL take advantage of you. This dealer held my car key hostage and wouldn't give back my car key. I went in for a test drive. They asked me if I wanted to trade in my old vehicle. I gave them my car key so they can check the condition of my car and my VIN number. After negotiation, we couldn't agree on the price of a new RAV4. I asked if I could have my car key back so I could go home. After asking 4 times (4 TIMES) , I had to physically went into the area where all the car salesmen hang out to get me key. They use this dirty tactic to haggle with you and prevent customers to leave. Complaint to manager but got no respond. read more
