Toilet is gross, walls are all beat up and if they are working on my mouth it makes me nauseous to think if the tools are even cleaned, the tray that had the tools on it did not look clean either. I don't recommend this dental office. The practice was sold to another dentist last year who seems to lack the patient care, follow through and honesty that was exercised by the previous owner. Since the ownership change, they repeatedly rescheduled a simple cleaning appointment for months due to issues retaining staff and managing their schedules, are lacking in their ability to maintain detailed charts so your visit is reliant on the dentist's word and their poor memory, and they don't seem to be inclined to retain the clientele that came with their purchase. The front office, however, seems to have improved but you're ultimately there for dental work, which doesn't seem like someone I would trust based on my recent experience. DO NOT GO HERE! This dental office has incompetent employees. I have gone to the office for cleanings, cavity work, and then it went downhill when I made an appointment to have a night guard made. The first assistant got the mold all over my chin while making the impression. ALL OVER. Naturally, the guard did not fit. They had to remake the guard. I waited a week and they called to tell me they broke the mold and I would need to come in again for another impression. I kindly asked for a refund and asked if I needed to come in sign any paperwork. I was told no, everything would be taken care of. I received another call a short while later from the office manager who offered to have the guard remade and a refund. I said no, just a refund please. She told me that I would in fact need to sign paperwork and that it would be e-mailed to me within 24 hours. I waited a week. Nothing. I just left the dental office after having another conversation with the office manager. She couldn't tell me why the paperwork hasn't been processed yet but she was waiting on a settlement but didn't have any more information. I asked her why no one has tried to let me know what has been happening and she said she couldn't answer that either. I asked for a timeframe. No answer. All she could do is give a half-hearted apology and then stand there, blocking me from leaving. No resolution. Awkward AF. $142 for a night guard and now 3 weeks of waiting for the office to get their act together. The dentist is nice and does a good job. Sadly, it's not enough to go back. read more

If I can could give them a negative 5 star, I would. I don't usually post negative reviews but the "service" I received was so appalling that they left me no choice. Not only had their billing team not follow-through or call back when they were supposed to on numerous occasions so I kept having to rearrange my day and reschedule appointments for my son. When I asked for a manager, they also outright told me that they have other patients to help. Um, I am a patient and I'm needing help on a request I have waited on for over a month. All I was asking for is a pre-determination submission to my insurance so I would know the exact treatment cost for my son's orthodontist treatment. It's been over a month and I have received nothing and after numerous calls to my insurance who's also called on my behalf because they do not see the submission, turns out they submitted the wrong form. Mistakes happen but my goodness, not one person at the office sounded remotely apologetic except for one manager. Unfortunately, she was out of the office and I had the displeasure of speaking with another manager, Telisa S, a so-called manager who was so ridiculously rude and loves talking over their patients, not letting them get in a word and then hangs up on them telling them they're harassing them when I'm just trying to get confirmation. Not only had she hung up on me multiple times, she hung up on the insurance rep that tried to call on my behalf and check if they had submitted the necessary form. I have been with this office for years and have loved their team pre-pandemic. If my oldest son is not already in treatment with Dr. Song, who's a great orthodontist at the office, I would not be wasting my time trying to get a pre-determination for my youngest here. I have already pulled my whole family out for regular dental care and will never come back here. I have requested a call with the owner/Dr. here but Telisa advised her entire office team to not help me and that I cannot speak with the owner, but only to the managers (gatekeepers) before hanging up on me again. I have a call log of her hanging up on me multiple times yesterday within 2 minutes each time. She stated that on instructions of the owner to write me an email saying that they had collectively spent 6 hours trying to submit a pre-determination form and will not help me and that I have to call my insurance. Uh, I have multiple times and they have also called them while I was on hold only for her to hang up on them and not provide them any information aside from, "you can call back". And a pre-determination is a pretty standard form, I'm not sure why it would take 6 hours to submit a form or call the insurance for assistance. I wish I could submit a complaint on BBB as well but they're not registered there for obvious reasons. They want you to sign their estimates and will not help you with pre-determinations to figure out exact costs apparently. Another particular staff, Raul, had also openly said, "I need a new job" to another staff on another instance. Probably not the most professional thing to say so that a patient can hear from the lobby. This give you an idea of their office culture. I hope I hear back from the owner or a more professional manager that doesn't talk over and hang up on their patients but not holding my breath and may just have to go to another orthodontist for my youngest son even though we like the doctors there. Didn't want to write this novel but warning others and hoping owner cares and can see that their gatekeeper, Telisa, wouldn't even allow me to speak with her. read more

I had to pay copay up front before being seen by anyone. When insurance kicked in and paid they said I didn't have a co pay and needed to be refunded what I had previously paid. They refused to pay the refund for 6 months. After getting the Better Business Bureau involved they finally refunded me along with a note saying I could not use their office or staff any longer. read more

My most favorite place to take care of my and my family's teeth and I've been a patient for many years. Dr. Pagan is a great dentist, I'm very pleased with his work! I needed a broken tooth pulled and a bone grafted and prepped for an implant. This was the most comfortable tooth pulling I've had (and I had many), it was over before I realized it. The area healed beautifully and without any issues. They extra attention to detail and always going out of their way to make me happy is what keeps me coming back! I have always been happy with this office and have referred many of my friends and coworkers as well. I usually see Dr. Sylvia as well and she's awesome! Continued 5 star review- we've been making the long drive from Washington State to Gresham, OR for over four years now because of Dr. Sylvia and her amazing team. In addition to their exceptional skill and warm (genuine) personalized engagement, I can't tell you how much I also appreciate the technology in this office- it really makes for a super efficient experience. Today was a crazy busy day at work and when I had a chance to catch my breath and look at my phone, I was surprised to find a voicemail from GMD. It was Dr. Sylvia herself, calling to check in on a recent procedure I'd had done. When was the last time you can remember your doctor/dentist calling themselves to check in on you? This has been my dentist for years. When I first became a patient I would have given them 5 stars. Now years later, the best staff members have left and the front office sucks. My guess is poor management. Out of my last 3 cleanings, they have had to reschedule multiple times. I even got a phone call today 10/28/2020 to reschedule a cleaning. I asked to have a tooth pulled due to an infection, they objected saying a root canal would suffice. After the operation they left the hole from the producer in my tooth causing bacteria to collect and ultimately the loss of the tooth several months later. I was also told I had to pay $800 upfront to fix the hole that THEY made. read more

I went to Gresham Modern Dentistry with a cracked molar and the dentist began working on it only to tell me she couldn't finish and I would need a surgeon to remove my tooth. Then she began with they don't have an appointment nor one in house until the next week. I was left with an excruciating pain beyond belief and no offers to have it removed from any other options. I couldn't stand the pain and after about 2 days I went to another dentist and they immediately brought me in and removed the molar by cutting it in half. The staff are amazing people who enjoy working and care about the patients. The doctors are all extremely friendly and are really good at helping individuals with teeth related issues. The kids side is really pleasant for the children with TVs on the wall so they can look forward to going to the dentist. Fair warning for anyone that is considering starting your orthodontist treatment here. I've never been through any type of ortho treatment so I wasn't aware of the kinds of things I should look for. Anyways, I'll try to make this short and concise. First of all, I had originally chose Gresham Modern Dentistry because they had a dentist that I can go to next door, which made cleanings, dental treatment, + adjustments much easier (rather than needing to drive between your regular dentist office and the ortho). The staff there are easy to coordinate with, friendly, and can really bond with you as a patient. Second, they were close to home. Fast forward to ortho treatment....About the end of mine and my son's first, maybe second, year in braces, I paid whatever remaining I had left in my FSA to finish off the year until my annual FSA rolls back in again (note: on both accounts, there was probably a total of $700 left). I was assured by the front desk that it was ok. So in between oct/jan, there was no payment made. Come February, I received a debt collection bill for those non paid months. This was addressed immediately and luckily, FSA was rolling back in again and they were able to stop that collection so it didn't effect my credit score. Having braces is hard enough, but in the 3+ years I was in them, I went through 3 different orthodontist who all had their different style of treatment and I felt like this unnecessarily prolonged my treatment. The last time I went in for a cleaning, Dr. Silvia came and did a check. I expressed my concerns. She disappeared and I'm assuming she went and spoke to Dr. Kerr about speeding it up. She comes back in and said they will start seeing me more often. I went back to the ortho side to get my wires back in and was told that we will start doing bi-weekly adjustments. Well, to my surprise, this only lasted 2, 2 week visits and then back to 6 weeks it went. Time to talk about the "emergency" time slots. Dr. Kerr is only in that office twice, maybe 4xs a month. So if your teeth starts moving in between appointments to the point that wax isn't helping and wires are cutting up the inside of your mouth, don't think you can just get in right away. They tell you that if anything happens (brackets falls off, long wires, etc) to call and they'll get you in to take care of it even if Dr Kerr isn't there, IT'S A LIE. I think I believed them twice and saw Dr Silvia, who just ended up having her assistant put wax on it for me. Yeah, I'm sure I can't do that at home. Oh and did I mention that the ortho didn't even look inside my mouth the day I had my braces taken off?? But where this frustration and the reason I'm writing a review is so people will know what to expect there. I got my braces off 2 months ago and have been wearing my retainers religiously. Unfortunately, my teeth has not settled and still wants to shift, even after a couple of hours. So last week, I lost my retainers Saturday night. Called the office Monday so I can come in and get a new set (Remember, my teeth shifts quick), but they couldn't get me in until a week later. At this time, my teeth has already shifted. When I got there, they were willing to let me pay another $300 for a new set of retainers BUT it will be in the same state of the impressions. So I definitely stopped them. Now, they're saying that it's too late, nothing else can be done, and I have to start a new, half treatment plan. Um yeah, no thanks. If I'm needing to start a new ortho treatment, it's def not going to be with them. I have a busy work/personal life so I need someone who will be there if need be, not having to wait a few weeks for the next available appointment. read more

Well, I will say that the office manager finally contacted me (by email) after I wrote my first 2 reviews (coincedence??). She did go above and beyond to refund the charges that were not supposed to be paid by my insurance. She followed up to make sure I received the check and cancelled my payment arrangements until the account was settled completely. It was very awesome of her to see it through and take care of us. BUT....I still feel like it could've been a much simpler ordeal if they would've just fixed the insurance billing in the first place. It took a lot of stress and persistence on my part to make things right, and I believe that is the only reason that I got a good outcome. read more

I came in for the exam, cleaning, and x-ray special. I was calling around to lots of different places with similar deals and they were the most helpful, kind, and to top it off with great availability of appointments quickly. My appointment was July 2013, the woman who handled the phones was so nice. Then I cam in for my appointment and the hygienist and doctor were both incredible. I ended up needed deep perio cleaning so they said instead of using the money I paid towards my cleaning they said I could use the payment credit to go towards my deep cleaning. The price was not what I was expecting so I asked for some time to think it over and see if I could come up with the money. I am a student and went away to school and was not able to get any of the work done before leaving. When I came back for winter break I contacted the clinic. Because my general health insurance went down, (thanks to the affordable health care act) my parents were able to purchase a dental saving plan for me and I know carry a discount plan I was able find providers in network for discounted rates on dental work. Unfortunately, Modern Dentistry is not in my network. However, I spoke with Beth, the receptionist and she kindly looked deeper into the plan I had personally and tried to find out what she could for me. Sadly, I was not able to use them. She was kind enough to email me my X-rays, procedure plan, and perio chart that I could submit to my current dental provider. I was so happy with the service I was provided with here. The staff was so kind and made me feel at ease in the office getting my exam and X-rays. I highly recommend them and the special. read more

Gresham Modern Dentistry has been great in providing care for my son! He recently finished several appts to complete fillings and orthodontics. The office staff was very pleasant and the appts were easy to schedule. The dentist was very personable and really helped convince my son how important flossing is. The orthodontist was amazing! She provided us with several options to correct my sons teeth, that even included a less expensive option that was not braces (kudos for that!), but braces it is.
