Patrick, the dental assistant helping with my care, was an absolute ray of sunshine. He treated me like we had been friends for years. I hadn't eaten that morning, and my blood pressure was a little concerning. Without hesitation, Patrick offered me part of his own lunch to help. Beyond that, he was one of the funniest and most genuine people I have ever met. When you're as fearful as I am, having someone who can make you laugh and feel comfortable makes all the difference. My 7-year-old daughter was with my wife and me during the visit. When she heard I was going to have surgery to remove all of my teeth, she became upset and started crying.
