Disorganized and unprofessional experience. I was scheduled for a cleaning, but due to their mistake, I was told there wasn't time. Staff was unprofessional and said "oh that must have been Cathy." I'm not sure who Cathy is, just wanted my teeth cleaned. I have TMJ, and the dentist's advice was to "take it easy," which felt pretty dismissive. My dentist also misdiagnosed a cavity and seemed unfamiliar with my medical history -- I was told I had a cavity, then told I didn't just five days later. To top it off, the dentist told me to enjoy my last year of high school... I'm 24. Most concerning: patient full names and dates of treatments were clearly visible on a monitor near the dental chair, in view of anyone walking by. This is a serious HIPAA violation and shows a complete lack of attention to patient privacy. I expected better care and basic professionalism. I will be switching dental offices. read more

Please read all the previous bad reviews because they are all true! Awful, just awful. Exact same thing happened to me! I had a scheduled an appointment for just a cleaning which was confirmed as covered by my Delta Dental insurance. They sent confirmations by text and email and I answered yes to all of them. The receptionist started giving me pushback immediately when I arrived, saying they didn't have anyone there to do it. Finally they called me to the back but said I wasn't getting my cleaning today because there was no one there but then instead they offered me a contract for almost $500, which I would have had to pay out of pocket! They DID have a hygienist for that. I don't like wasting my time writing reviews but don't want anyone to get in a situation like mine. Everyone at this office is rude. The quality of care is crap. Don't waste your time or money here. Every time I came in for an appointment I got ignored and had to get their attention to get checked in. Such a horrible place. I got one filling in 2022 and have been getting bills in the mail every month for $912 for "7 cavity fillings" ??? (which I never got). Very unprofessional and misinformed front desk staff. The morning of my appointment I called to verify the time. I never received a confirmation email, so I called just to be sure. Within seconds Kathy S. was asking for my social security number over the phone. This is not only an inappropriate question, but also against state of Oregon laws and policies. I told her I was not comfortable sharing that over the phone and informed her that I would present my insurance card upon arrival for my appointment. Upon arrival for said appointment, Kathy again asked me for my social security number verbally. I told her a second time I was not going to be providing my social security number and that all the information she needed was on my insurance card right in front of her. She then said "I guess I will see what I can do." and proceeded to take my phone out of my hand and place it behind her desk. She then handed me a clipboard with documents to fill out. I filled out my paperwork for about 10 minutes and then walked back up to the desk to grab my phone. Upon retrieving my phone, I noticed multiple applications open on my phone that were not open when she took it out of my hand. She was looking through my phone which I did not give her permission to do. Kathy S. is unprofessional and downright rude. This dental office is eventually going to get caught up with how they are negligently handling sensitive patient information. Kathy was my first impression of this dental office, and I will never be going back again. I will also be reporting this clinic to the state for patient information negligence. Call they got me in had me come back in 2 days for root canal told me the cost . I ask if the had financing available they told me no, however there telephone recording said they did. Also the price they told me on Monday was different on Wednesday. I ended up paying $688, it not so much the amount but the fact that I was made aware at the time of check in. Not to mention the called me 1hr before my appointment to tell me the time was being moved back 1 hour and I had already taken off from work. When I called the office I was placed on hold 2x for more than 10 minutes and then discounted. The medical staff was nice and professional, however the front office staff did not display good customer and should have provided accurate billing or cost prior to check in. read more

I had a small dental emergency and hadn't yet established with a new dentist after moving. I called several places that claimed to be an emergency dentist. Their wait times were from weeks to even months. Bright now was able to get me in 3 days later. Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. read more

1 star for having an emergency appointment for my husband and the clinical staff that were helpful. We were there invisible to the front desk for almost 2 hours after checking. Zero stars- called to ask questions about my oral surgery and Kathy yet again didn't get my appointment booked correctly and then continued to argue with me over why she said she scheduled me for surgery at 3pm when the surgeon won't see patients that late, placed me on hold 4 times and kept coming on the line without realizing huffing and puffing then told me I can schedule somewhere else and hung up on me. Not sure how she's been with the office for so many years yet still doesn't know how to do anything? I have an issue with her regarding billing or payments or insurance or something every single time and someone has to come up and help her and correct the issues every single time. I'm a long time patient here and really have had very good experiences. However the last visit was disappointing. It had nothing to do with COVID. I had my cleaning and then was told the Dentist would be in to check everything. I waited for a little over 1/2 hour while no one came to even let me know that there was a hold up. I decided to leave. I did not see anyone around and didn't want to go wandering, so I went to the front desk and informed them what had happened. She did not say sorry or let me check for you. My normal dentist wasn't able to reschedule my routine cleaning I had to cancel until 2 months later so I figured I'd try Bright Now Dental since it's closer to home and had availability right away. I was told I would be able to come in for a new patient consult and cleaning. They were half an hour late in seeing me, my teeth were assessed by someone who checked gum depth among other things in a quick assessment. I had to wait for someone else to come tell me that I'm at risk for periodontal disease (total BS since my teeth are fine, have never had any issues with them and my last cleaning 6 months prior was perfectly fine). So after wasting an hour of my life they then say they don't do cleanings and new patient consults in the same visit. I just wasted all this time to be told lies and not even receive a cleaning that I had made the appointment for. Then at check out I'm given the information of how much a cleaning will cost. My dental insurance covers all routine cleanings at 100% however they want to do a "deep clean" that is not fully covered by my insurance and will cost me $300-$400 out of pocket. My conclusion is that they do not know what they are doing, they are incompetent at assessing and probably even caring for peoples oral health, and I would not let them anywhere near my teeth to do any work in a million years. They are also a bunch of crooks who are just out to make extra money off of people by telling them lies about their teeth, saying they have these problems that they need to fix for them, and then up-charging their insurance and the person with out of pocket costs they do not need. They also insisted on doing x-rays when I'm pregnant and wanted me to get a release from my OBGYN instead of just accepting the last x-rays I had done. I was able to get into my regular dentist (which I've been seeing for 8 years) in the next couple days with a last minute cancellation and they will not bother with x-rays at all while I'm pregnant, and did my cleaning with no issues found, I do not have periodontal disease as I already knew. Bright now Dental is a highly un-ethical and incompetent dentistry business. Do not waste your time or money, and definitely do not risk your oral health using them. read more

I had a crown put in just about one year ago. I have had issues with it ever since. For almost 10 months now I have been trying to get in to have it looked at but they never return my calls or send any confirmation when I try to sign up for an appointment online. Recently that tooth has become painful and my gum is swollen up and feels like there's a pocket forming (infection?). They claim to have 24/7 emergency service but when I called and finally was able to reach someone, they tell me the earliest I can get in is April 23rd. So much for doing emergency services... I was finally able to schedule an appointment after fighting for a slot but had to cancel for having contact with someone who tested positive for covid. I asked if the dentist could figure something out for the pain and swelling so they stated I would receive a call with a plan shortly. Fast forward two days and I still have not heard back. I just tried calling the office at 445pm (15 minutes before closing) and the line is already set to screen calls. To add, last time I went in for a cleaning the assistant was constantly on her phone while attempting so clean my teeth. It's more like they're just running through as many "product" as possible instead of trying to help. I highly advise avoiding this place if you would like any morsel of quality and care when it comes to selecting a dental office. read more

Not recommended. Many many many reasons why. To keep it short I will just give you 3. Trust me there are many more though. 3) My wife went for braces and requested clear brackets. She got all the way home before realizing she got metal. Went back and they had to remove all brackets to fix their mistake. 2) When switching her bands they completely forgot to put on new bands! Who does that? She got home and had no bands on. She called them and asked if this was on purpose and sure enough it wasn't. 1) Our final straw happened when I went in for my THIRD chip repair on the same tooth in one week. The entire time they were fixing my tooth the dentist and her assistant were gossiping about other employees. They were complaining about how one of the other employees never cleans her instruments! Keep in mind my mouth is jammed full of instruments at the time. If you want forgotten appointments, silly mistakes and to get caught on the office drama this is your place. This place is unbelievable !! to add to the previous reviewers list above, 1) The hygienist literally FELL ASLEEP during my daughters tooth cleaning. The dentist berated her in front of my daughter and left the room without completing his exam. 2)They wouldn't let me go in to sit in the room with my 8 year old son while he had his cleaning done despite his obvious anxiety. (huge red flag) 3)They attempted to charge us 200$ more for a root canal than our insurance company had stated was allowable and only agreed to reduce the charges after we put our insurance agent on the phone in the lobby on speakerphone to tell them their error. 4) They refuse to clean the teeth of my children with braces unless their orthodontist removes the back brackets, despite the orthodontist telling them multiple times that this is not necessary and to "clean around them" I am so sorry that this is our required dental provider for the year! I guess we will just have to brush and floss really well and hope for the best. There is NO way we will be returning to this office to be subjected to this level of unprofessional service and poor dental treatment. read more

This was my first visit here and I had an easy routine cleaning and exam. Waiting room is inviting and tidy. The exam and cleaning rooms were clean as well. The team was up front about what insurance did and didn't cover during the appt. even when I didn't ask. Very happy overall with the experience. read more

Came in 9/25/2018 with tooth pain in tooth #30. I was given an antibiotic and pain pills for 10 days due to an infection. On 10/5/2018 I got the tooth pulled and was told because it was a "simple" extraction I didn't need any prescription because over the counter pain meds should suffice. Now 10/6/2018 I haven't slept because of the extreme pain. I cannot even eat or move my jaw without a sharp pain that nearly makes me pass out. The offices are closed on weekends so I can't even ask for a prescription. So now I have to go to urgent care and beg for pain meds costing me even more money because I am uninsured. read more

Bright Now! is not a place that made me feel like they care about my dental health at all. My experience with dentists has always been positive, even if the procedure has not. Bright Now! only cared about charging me for as many things as possible. I have good insurance, but they kept trying to get me to sign up for services I did not need and were NOT covered by my insurance. I felt like I was dealing with a stereotypical used car salesman. Dr wells is a gentle dentist. He is friendly and professional. He explains every thing he does. He wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied with my treatment and he doesn't push treatment you don't really need. The office has discount coupons for patients with no insurance. And they take the Ameriplan a discount program. It only has 4 stars because dental care is so unaffordable without insurance. read more

Initially when I went in for my first appointment to take care of a toothache, I was pleased with how everything went. The staff seemed friendly and helpful, I liked the dentist, all good stuff. When I went back for a cleaning the following week, I had a very different experience. My appointment was at 5pm and I got a voicemail 40 min prior to my appointment saying that I could come in early if I wanted to. However, I was at work at the time so I couldn't make it in any earlier than 5. When I got there, I was told the hygienist had left for the day at 4pm and that there must've been a scheduling error when they originally booked it. People make mistakes it happens, whatever. What frustrates me is that they either knew this when they called me and neglected to tell me or they're extremely disorganized and didn't prep for my appointment. Even still, I was willing to reschedule but they told me the soonest they could get me in was sometime in late October (two months from now). All the while, I felt like they tried to make it seem like this was somehow my misunderstanding. So much so that I re-listened to the voicemail when I left to make sure I didn't miss anything (I didn't). They said sorry maybe once and didn't seem to care that they wasted my time. As a business, if you've made a mistake, wasted someone's time, wasted their gas and inconvenienced them, you should figure out how to accommodate them and fit them into your schedule. Now, I'm not saying I expected an appointment the next day, but I expected something way sooner than two months. Now I have to find a new dentists all over again. Huge waste of time! read more

Dr. Wells is a experienced and talented dentist who is very patient with me since I greatly dislike being in the dental chair and require extra time and anesthetic. However it's the front desk staff who earn Bright Now a five star rating. They are always friendly and accommodating even when I'm late or miss appointments. Dentists typically are not an enjoyable experience. Let alone everything I had done in one sitting when I was suggested by friends to break the sessions up. That being said it was probably the beat dentist experience I have ever had especially considering the circumstance. Not only was every person I dealt with very pleasant, but I have never felt like my needs have ever been so well cared for. I have been going to Bright Now Dental for over 6 years now. For the most part I've always had a good experience. I've gotten my dental work as well as orthodontics done here. My assistants, dentists, and orthodontist have always been exceptional, friendly, and put me at ease through my treatments, and I would gladly give them 4-5 stars yet, my overall review is of the establishment. I've had my braces off for over a year now and the retainers they give you are similar to invisilign; plastic. They make you sign a contract stating you will take care of them, the do's, don't do's, etc. I took that very seriously, as I spent over $5,000 out of pocket for my orthodontic work. I went in because one of my retainers is worn, cracked, and chipping. At this point I would consider this normal wear and tear and now that I feel the integrity is compromised, not to mention the chipped plastic is poking my gums causing inflammation, it should be replaced for free. I've taken care of them just as my contract had specified. I explained my situation and the assistant looks at them and immediately says its going to be $100 to replace. I let her know I was not prepared to pay for that at this time and we agreed to speak to the Dr about my options. Then one of the office staff (who I could but will not name) came to her side whispering (completely unprofessional behavior in my opinion), the assistant told me that the wear on my retainer is from night grinding and the only reason they had replaced a previous other retainer is because of a crown that made it no longer fit. I can see where she is coming from, but first of all, I didn't know I had a night grinding problem. I've never been told that I have, or been diagnosed with night grinding. If I had known that, I'd have paid more for something more suited for that issue. I can now understand that its not normal wear and tear. I did discuss my options with the Dr., and he was very professional and explained all my options, but as I had been waiting for him, I could hear the office staff gossiping about me and my situation. Seriously? Because I stood up for myself? Because I don't think its right to make someone pay $100 for a flimsy product that needs to be replaced each year? Honestly, the least they could do was wait until I left. I'm a grown adult and I worked 2 full time jobs while going to school full time just to be able to afford my braces. I am not some careless teenager who doesn't give a crap about how their parent's money is spent or not, which is what I'm sure they are used to. But this behavior is unacceptable and is what sent me over the edge. In all fairness of the situation, It makes me feel like their customer service depends on how much money they can make off people. I would have been more inclined to pay the $100, had I been given great customer service and felt cared for and valued. I didn't even get a goodbye, or have a good day as I walked out of the office. Now that I've been rudely disrespected, I think I'll take my business elsewhere. I will say that one of the office staff (I think she may be the office manager, and I feel horrible for forgetting her name), she is the short, petite, brunette, is ALWAYS very nice, friendly, and helpful. She may actually be the only reason I EVER go back to Bright Now Dental. read more

I went into Bright Now for an appointment, as I was sitting in the waiting room (with several other costumers) the receptionist who's name is Amy approached an elderly costumer and her assistant sitting in front of me and asked her to sign some paper work, the patients assistant told the receptionist that she was not the patients legal care taker so she would not be able to sign paper work and that in the past "Bright now" would inform them ahead of time if there was paper work to sign, to which Amy responded loudly "that is not my responsibility", Amy continued to loudly argue with the customer in front of me and other customers in the room continually saying this was not her problem or responsibility, Amy walked to her desk where she continued to yell at the costumer from behind her desk, it was very unprofessional and embarrassing. The receptionist is the first person the costumer meets when they walk in the door so it is her job to make sure the costumer has a pleasant experience, it is her job to inform costumers of all the information in a respectful manner, it is her job to help the costumer come to a positive solution in situations like this one, it is not her job to yell at costumers ever, especially in front of other costumers, this was a very uncomfortable experience for everyone in the room, she was very rude and unprofessional. I hope she learns to be more respectful to and in front of costumers in the future. read more
