If I could do zero stars I would. They forced me to get my wisdom teeth pulled that I was assured by an orthodontist had plenty of room and were growing in straight before they would do any other work. When they did other work they way over charged me and are making it very difficult to refund me what they owe me. At one point I had a tooth abscess and they booked my root canal two months later after charging me $1,400. The pain got so bad I had to go to another emergency dentist just to get the tooth pulled and I still can't get them to give that money back. read more

Wow!!!! This place is a scam. Many of our family members are dentists and hygienists but are not in this state. Since we moved and are currently without dental insurance, we made the mistake of going to Aspen. 29$ for exam and X-rays, then they started at $4900 for a deep cleaning/root planing. They even told my husband he had 2 loose teeth. He certainly doesn't have 2 loose teeth and has recently had a deep cleaning (prior to our loss of insurance ) He just wanted to keep up the cleaning. It is a true bait and switch. Do yourself a favor and do not go to Aspen. Go to a well reviewed local dentist, and you will be much better off. Aspen dental takes advantage of those that do not know. I was fortunate to have had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Sagar Madugula and his staff at Aspen Dental, Gresham. I was very anxious about the appointment and any procedures that would be recommended, but Dr. Sagar was very patient and spent time explaining all the processes that would be followed. The staff (hygienists, assistants and front desk) were all very helpful and always available to help. Dr. Sagar is very professional, he takes the time to explain what needs to be done and provides valuable advice. It's not easy to find a good dentist, and very glad to say I found one for life. I highly recommend Dr. Sagar and his staff at Aspen Dental for all dental needs. read more

I went in to get a simple denture repair and without doing anything they told me that I needed new dentures and then proceeded to tell me I needed to have dental implants. I have the best insurance so that's probably why. When I told them I wasn't going to get new dentures or implants I was asked to leave without them even repairing my dentures. They fixed the same issue with my dentures a few months back and didn't need to give me X-rays or a hard reline so I know that they are just trying to bill my insurance for things I don't really need. The office team here is not coordinated or just is plain disrespectful - I'm not sure which. I had booked an advance an appointment for 4 PM (have the reminder email and text) and then I come to find out the day of the appointment - that it's been moved to 3 PM. I have text messages and emails that confirm that the original appointment was 4 PM - but when I called the office the morning of, they notified me that they moved my appointment. I asked them why they didn't call me to tell me anything about this and they had no reason and just suggested I rebook. I booked this two months in advance due to the wait on their schedule. When I arrive there in the office on the new time, which I worked around my schedule to make happen, I then waited in the lobby for 10 minutes after checking in before I gave up and asked to just cancel. I didn't want to be disrespected further and have them wasting my time. As I was talking to the front desk team, another patient in the lobby heard and chimed in that she was having difficult difficulties with their office team too, and she was really unhappy with it. The other patient and I chatted for a few moments and it made me feel a little bit better that it wasn't just me having a horrible experience. I've never had a great experience here, and my time in the chair with their dentists has been not great to say the least, but the office team not valuing my time (while charging you if you miss your time?) just doesn't add up and I wouldn't continue to waste my time and money. Last year I came to this dental office thinking they might be something good. sike. the office was a mess, the seat I sat in had peoples let over hair grease. literally hair, grim, crumbs etc etc all over the seat. the tools they thank good did not use on me where absolutely gross. mold, yellow build up on the water spraying tip. You go in for a dental procedure, you come out with someone else hair stuck to your sweater and a mouth full of extra bacteria. good luck on this place. ps. like a dummy, I made an appointment yesterday for what I need, I show up today thinking maybe they clean their act from the last time I was here. nope. "other patients" are ahead of me so no guarantee something will be done today. might have to make another appointment. plus charging me $34 to be seen. there will not be a third time for a charm, when all I got back was harm to my emotions and disappointments. my fault, I should have known better this time. read more

Most terrible dentist I've ever been to the first day I made an appointment I came in and they were asking me to do x-rays. I informed them that I already have my x-rays done at another dentist so we reached out to get them. They said unfortunately I will not be able to work on you today until we get the x-rays, I said OK cool I'll see you tomorrow. Made an appointment for 230 the next day I took off work again and still they cannot work on my teeth not only that but they lost my insurance card and they had a copy of my insurance card they just didn't wanna give it back to me, they were the most horrible people. I have pain in my mouth and I needed a remedy. I needed my teeth fixed they refused. I would never trust them with anyone's teeth or an insurance card, incompetent and terrible, and all of that but they were heartless when I told him I'm in pain I hope they get shut down for everyone's safety!!! read more

Absolutely horrible! The dentist promise things they apparently cannot do. I went in with a broken pair which they fixed. Within a week they broke again. I then decided to have a complete pair done. The dentist, knowing I had implants, said it would not be an issue. Sadly, after 3 years of trying and 3 different dentists, I am back to using Poligrip daily. read more

Funny how my last review was deleted. My son (who is on my insurance and for whom I assist in paying his dental bills) went to Aspen to establish dental care and to get a tooth looked at. The dentist immediately told him that he had a bone infection. Then my son was directed to sit down and discuss his "account" and payment options as my son was handed an estimate for over $2k for ONLY A CLEANING. The dentist also told my son he need a couple teeth pulled. My son responded to the dentist and told him that he was under the care of an orthodontist and no teeth needed pulling. The dentist ignored him. My son was asked to commit to the next appointment for cleaning only and would have to pay 1/2 of the $2k on the spot. But this office was quick to provide the financing that would provide all of this money and told my son it was ONLY 25% interest (my son is bright enough to know that is extremely high). Why would anyone belittle a 25% interest rate? In fact, why when they were told exactly what coverage we had (which includes 100% coverage for cleanings) again and still demand that the charges would be over $2k? The itemized list included charges for cleaning three teeth (charges per groups of 3 teeth), mouth rinses, etc. They did an excellent job of trying to convince my son he needed financing for $2k of cleaning; and funny thing . . . no mention of the bone infection again. My son got out of there quickly and realized what they were trying to do. I got my son into my dentist the next day, and guess what--he had one cavity, no bone infection, and they cleaned his teeth at the same visit! All covered by insurance. Aspen Dental operates in such a way as to bill you and get you into a billing contract courtesy of the "low interest" financing. These people are worse than sleazy car salespeople (I'm not trying to pick on care salesmen here, really). They also need to be reported to the state of Oregon. Run from these people. They will trick you because they think you're stupid. read more

OK here Is what I don't like about Aspen Dental; Billing... All billing is done a corporate while your dental work is done at the branch. The branch staff knows little about your insurance status so they go ahead and do the work regardless of whats covered. In the end the remote billing department charges you any shortfalls. For me that was about a whopping $1800.00. So beware. Ask your dental insurance carrier whats covered before you have anything major done or anything for that matter. Don't assume that Aspen Dental will do this. I had a quote in writing before I got the major work done. I went in and talked with the business manager and she opened a review ticket but she never got back to me. Today I got a full refund from Aspen Dental once they reviewed the promised service charges. This process took 3 months, but got all the 2nd billing charge payment back. I never want to go through this again. I will be seeking a new dentist (Again) read more

Our regular dentist office did not renew their contract with insurance so we had to find a new dentist. My husband was the first to visit Aspen Dental. I was with him when he called & said he needed an annual xray, teeth cleaning exam - they said no problem. He went in, they did xray, checked a couple of teeth (not all of them) - NO teeth cleaning! Sent him home with paperwork that said he needs about $300 worth of dental stuff plus the dentist told him they should just remove one of his back teeth as it serves no purpose. We have NEVER had a dentist suggest removing a tooth that wasn't a problem tooth. Apparently Aspen Dental is in it for the money only. When I called Aspen Dental & asked why didn't they clean his teeth, she simply said we don't do that on new patient appointments and they didn't have a hygienist there that day. The office cannot help what the call center scheduled. Told her they are the only dentist we've ever been to that doesn't do a cleaning during the annual exam. We absolutely will not go back. read more

I have severe anxiety at the dentist. As soon as I walked through the door I felt at ease. No judgement and very patient. I cannot remember the assistant's name but she and Dr. Garcia were amazing. The Aspen Dental on Eastman Parkway is excellent with the exception of Dr Tyce. He is one of the most arrogant professionals I have ever dealt with and definitely does not work with the patients needs. He religned my dentures and now I am totally unable to wear them. I have asked to talk with the manager there but so far have not heard back. I hope no one else has to go what I went through with Dr Tyce. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the most unprofessional place I have ever been!! First off they tried to up sell me on things I 100% did not need. Then when it came time for impressions the hygienist didn't know what he was doing so he had to get another hygienist to help moments later I would find out she was only slightly more skilled in the art of impression taking thus causing them to be redone 3 time. At this point a third and final hygienist squeezed into the now cramped room and declared the first 2 had made quite the mess of things. If you've ever gotten impressions you know this is not a pleasant experience. They canceled multiple appointments. One of which I was not informed of until I arrived at 7:30am having taken unnecessary time off of work. Then when dealing with the staff about this they were nothing but rude and condescending, acting as if it was somehow my fault they didn't contact me to reschedule. I've been a client here for over 2 years... today was my last time. In 49 years I've never experienced a cleaning that left me in pain for month. I went back today to have them look over why I was still in pain and the dental hygienist was the same person ( I specifically asked not to have ever again)... no notes made on my file. She spoke broken English, I left today, not have any procedures. She kept telling me this is a "practice" and things are not perfect. I felt like she was making excuses for hurting me... I went for my initial exam six months ago and found the office manager and dentist to be very kind. I have had bad experiences in the past with dental work and, like many people, have some anxiety around dental work and expressed this to the staff. My first cleaning was two weeks later. The cleaning was alright, but the hygienist went to apply fluoride without asking if I wanted it. When I told her I didn't want it, she got flustered and dropped it on the floor and seemed mad since she had already opened it. I let it go, thinking that it was just a misunderstanding. I paid for my copay at the time of check it, but throughout the summer continued to get bills requesting my copay. I had to call the office and the main billing number at least four times to clear the matter up. Today was the final straw, I went in for my second cleaning and the same hygienist did the cleaning. It was the most painful cleaning of my life. I repeatedly said ow, or jumped because it hurt. Her fingernails were pushing into my gums through the glove, and my gums got poked repeatedly with the instruments. I told her it was painful and again she seemed annoyed and instead of apologizing said that I had a lot of tarter and that she was just trying to do her job. After that statement she wrapped things up quickly and told me I was done. I literally left in tears. My jaw and gums are still sore. I will never be back. read more

Very disappointed! I recently changed insurances and decided to try out Aspen Dental. The appointment making process was easy and I was able to do it online. As a new patient, they will not let you schedule a cleaning. You first have to do a "new patient appointment." Upon arriving at the new patient appointment I was told to fill out some paperwork while I waited. I was then taken for a panoramic x ray. I am in my 30s and have not had my wisdom teeth since I was a teenager so I am unsure as to why they had me do a panoramic xray. After the panoramic xray, I was taken to another room where the assistant then did a FMX (another 14 or so xrays). After the 2nd set of xrays I was taken to another room in which I was given a pamphlet on oral cancer screening and told they recommend this to all their patients. I waited a bit before the hygienist came in and measured my gums. After the measurements, in which my gums were inflamed) it was recommended that I have a gingivitis care appointment and a follow up appointment in which the actual cleaning would be done. The hygienist also recommended a couple preventative fillings. She said that I had a couple spots and that these fillings would prevent them from actually becoming anything worse. I was asked if I understood everything. The dentist then came in and looked at my teeth. I was told they have some staining but otherwise they look good. I was told that after a cleaning they would just like to see me back in 6 months and that I am doing a good job at home. It was mentioned that I should get an electric toothbrush. There was absolutely no mention of the preventative fillings. I was then able to go back to the waiting room before they were able to get my back to schedule my future appointments. Once in the scheduling room I was showed how much it would cost for the gingivitis treatment and follow up exam. I was a little skeptical of this gingivitis exam and asked if I could just have a cleaning. I was told that once diagnosed with the gingivitis that I could not just have a regular cleaning. I will never go back to this place. I have been to many different dentist offices over the years due to job changes and moves and have never felt so much like they just wanted to make money. If you have a choice, do not go here, there are many other affordable places out there that are not just out to get money. As a note: I went to a private dental office the next day which is not participating with my insurance. I was given a discount for no insurance, had x rays, cleaning and was seen by the dentist. There was no mention of cavities or extreme gingivitis. The x rays, cleaning and dental exam cost me less than just the gingivitis treatment at Aspen dental would have(and that was with insurance). Do your research, call around. Had I known that with no insurance I could have had better treatment and cost less money I would have just gone to a private practice in the first place. read more

Everyone is very nice and super good at what they do. Office runs very smoothly from what I can see. I got my teeth cleaned and it didn't even hurt and my gums are are feeling a lot better And Emily, the hygienist was very nice and just awesome at her job. As my insurance PPO ,they charged me over $700 for the start up that they said it would not cover by the insurance and after that the routine maintenance would cover 100% by the insurances. I went in for the first routine cleaning,it costed me 0,but the next appointment that they wanted me in end up cost me $90. They said it didn't cover by the insurance,it only gives a discount. My question is that as a PPO to the insurance company,aren't they supposed to know what they can or cannot do people?when they said cover 100%, aren't they supposed to get an approved from the insurance before they schedule the patient to come in? Be careful of these people hiding fee,is all I want to say. read more

Cheryl is a fabulous hygienist. She does such a good job I go in every three months to keep the plaque down and my teeth pearly white. She really knows how to use her tools, and is quick and efficient. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a great cleaning in an expedient manner by a really competent and pleasant hygienist. read more
