We came to Beacon for wisdom teeth removal for my teen daughter. We'd initially had a consultation…read moreat another oral surgeon and after leaving we both just felt hesitant, so that's what made me seek another office. After the consultation at Beacon, we'd both felt 100% confident with them. My daughter literally said "that was so much better than the other place, let's go here." They were very thorough and the staff was really caring which made her so much more comfortable. We will definitely come back when it's my son's turn.

The overall experience was poor. They only provide out of network insurance coverage, which typically means an increased cost to the patient, but I was assured by Dr. Lieblick the surgery would be uncomplicated after doing X-rays and I was eager to have some pain relief and get rid of the problem. After my surgery, there was no post op check from the doctor, I was monitored by a dental assistant until my spouse picked me up. I had questions regarding the procedure, but he had already stepped into his next case so no review or discharge was given from him. One week after the surgery, I was still in extensive pain that radiated to my jaw and temple, significant swelling across my face and in the back of my throat making it difficult to swallow, and a foul taste in my mouth. Giving benefit of the doubt, I did a call consultation on a Saturday where the on call doctor, Dr. Rehrer, told me to "ride it out" because the symptoms were normal, but offered to come in if the information above persisted on Monday. I did, so they were able to squeeze me in where Dr. Rehrer took a quick look inside my mouth and told me "everything looks fine, unfortunately you have delayed healing." I came in that Monday seeking help and instead felt dismissed by the surgeon. As a first time mom who is currently nursing and having all these dental issues it has been extremely difficult and painful to eat and even swallow liquid due to swelling and Dr. Rehrer did not offer any further assistance or empathy for that matter. Still in pain, I sought a second opinion from another doctor. They told me Dr. Lieblick left an exposed root, I had dry socket, and I was started on antibiotics and even steroids for the major inflammation. With such a vast difference on the post care diagnosis - I can't help but write a poor review based on my surgery, post op care, and overall experience that left me feeling neglected as a patient. I would not recommend this office to a friend

The minute I stepped into the elegantly appointed interior I felt I was in a 5 star hotel, with it's flat screen TV, computer for customer use, wifi if you brought your own, not just have magazines but picture books of the history of the nearby cities, coffee machine and bottles of water. The staff was gracious and accommodating. On their website they didn't list office hours, but this was an emergency situation and when I called the number for emergencies I got the voicemail of the Dr. Westover who IMMEDIATELY called me back, and squeezed me in the next AM. Besides the latest equipment there is a number of sedation plans, dentists had, laughing gas, and two kinds of IV one where you are conscious and one where you're not, they even give you sunglasses to shield you from the overhead lights! I (for budgetary reasons) usually have to go to dentists in seedy neighborhoods with bad yelp reviews or HMO's where the doctors are always foreign born or new graduates working in a chain dental office under a name of the dentist who owns but doesn't practice. So one of the reasons that I did not give this office 5 stars was that the prices seemed high to me (but then my pricing may be off with the kind of dentists I had, crowns were around $650, perhaps for most private dentists it IS $1100.) Dr. Westover is an older gentleman so he's probably been practicing a long time thus developing his expertise so he most likely has a following and it's not necessary for them to compete on price by offering one of those prepaid dental plans (sigh) or specials like free consultation and xrays or $100 off for new patients, (although I hope they read this and consider doing one or all of the above) but he may not want to have too many customers to give more individualized attention and not engage in predatory pricing practices as cheap chains do who make their profits on volume vs. pricing. That being said, they do have inhouse financing (with only a SS# and no obtrusive questions) as I feel they do realize their prices are a little high but they want to service as many as possible knowing the importance of dental care and offer senior discounts of 10% off. And unlike like some high end dentists (or more likely, the "chain" dentists who are pressured to produce high sales) he does NOT advise a lot of extra work, to pad the pocket, actually he's quite the opposite. He told me that if I paid for two implants, he would just throw it the third. I asked the staff if he charged me more as it was an emergency and she said no, not only that he often saw patient in dire situations outside the office hours for no extra charge. His partner is younger but his carefully evaluated advice on implants made me feel that with he graduated at the top of his class. The second reason is that the dentist made a misjudgement on what needed to be done, (that may have been due to the emergency situation on hand, so not being my regular dentist he wasn't familiar with my dental history) but rest assured at this office they will make SURE that you are satisfied with their work, so have no trepidation in coming here. So while I do heartily recommend them, I'd advise one get a really good dental plan so you have the privilege of being a patient, if you are not affluent. And a negative is actually a positive, I had to wait a little as I was a last minute squeeze but most patients were seen right away, they don't overbook like some of the cheap offices I've been too, so it was kind of a shame that the nice waiting room was "wasted". If the ambiance, demeanor of the staff, expertise of the dentist and his willingness to make himself available to what's convenient to you, your time and MOST important to me, YOUR satisfaction with the work done, is important to you then go to him, there is an axiom, you get what you pay for and this is certainly true for this office. If I didn't have such bad teeth (and this is a woman who didn't have her first cavity until she was 19, sigh) and only needed tooth cleanings (they give you a wonderful take home kit after that!) and an occasional filling or two, instead of crowns, root canals, bridges (actually I need implants but can't afford it, or had a good plan to pay for it) and lived in the area, I'd go to him, for sure. Had I not been forced to chose him because of my ride options I may not have gone to him, but I'm glad I did, for once in my life, it's good for me to treat myself to a quality experience, they also have a contest where you win prizes at the present time. I was only able to afford them because I had emergency dental travel insurance that would help pay the bill. What a Rolls is to cars, Ritz is to hotels, Grensham Dental Group is to dentists.

As a healthy 41 year old with zero health issues I unfortunately was diagnosed with root resorption…read morein multiple lower front teeth. It was a tough diagnosis to hear as I was informed that several of my teeth were failing and would ultimately need to be extracted. At age 41 I did not want a partial and the subsequent bone loss that would gradually take place thereafter...implants needed to happen. A good friend recommended Dr. Lieblick from Beacon oral surgery and I'm so glad I went to see him! Dr. Lieblick is not only one of the top OMF surgeons in the country but he's also personable, professional and organized. From start to finish the whole process was smooth and hiccup free. Dr. Lieblick confirmed diagnosis with a same day CT scan and came up with a straight forward treatment plan. My surgery and recovery were smooth and easy...rock solid implants in! For the crown/bridge portion of the plan, coordination with my prostodontist (Dr. Bray at Portland Prosthodontics....also very highly recommended) was seamless. Six extractions, bone grafting and four implants later and I just couldn't be happier with my experience and results. If I didn't know that I had surgery I would have a hard time telling that I had implants and a bridge....my smile and bite are BETTER than my original gear. I wish I could give 6 stars.

I was chewing on some ice like an idiot and I cracked one of my molars. I had to have the tooth…read moreremnant extracted and a titanium implant drilled into my jaw to replace the tooth by having my dentist put a crown on the implant after the implant will be in place for a couple months. I'm from Seattle but a close friend recommended that I go to see a doctor in Portland?! With that recommendation I hopped on a greyhound bus to see Dr. Lieblick down in Gresham. Full disclosure, i'm not a great dental patient even when I have a basic cleaning every 4-6 months. I don't do well with the basic stuff let alone the thought of having a major surgery done in my mouth... After the cat-scan on my head they numbed the side of my mouth and extracted the tooth but one of the two roots didn't come out cleanly so they had to do a little drilling to remove it which I didn't feel at all although the noise was a little unpleasant. The drilling stopped after about 45 seconds then Dr. Lieblick said "we're all done". With my numb tongue and lips I mumbled "whuh bout the mimplant". He said "it's in and you are ready to go". I took 2 ibuprofen one time after the procedure and nothing in the 2 weeks since because there was no pain whatsoever after the initial soreness. from what I had heard from the two people who had dental implants in the past I expected that the procedure was going to be horrible and the pain would be excruciating for a while after the procedure. Obviously the procedure couldn't have gone any better! I guess that it pays to see a Doctor who's placed thousands of implants and not some oral surgeon hack let alone a general dentist who wants to try their hand at procedures they aren't trained to do. From the pre-surgical CT-scan of your mouth to setting a follow up appointment on the way out, based on my experience, you should expect to be in the office for under 45 minutes unless you have to be sedated for a more involved procedure like removal of all your wisdom teeth. I couldn't be more surprised that the implant placement was easier than a regular filling in my experience. The staff could have only been better if they would have given me a foot massage while I was having the procedure completed. From the greeting at the front desk to the smile on the way out it was less stressful and painless than the time my barber nicked my ear as he was cutting my hair. Seriously, if you need to have an extraction or implant then take my word that you can't do any better than Beacon Oral surgery at any of their four locations. I told my friends who'd had implants that they were whiners or they went to the wrong doc for their surgeries.... If you've been holding off because you're nervous, schedule an appointment and get your surgery done by the best doctors around Portland! I forgot to mention the worst part is that you'll want to chew food on the a different part of your mouth until you get your crown. I found that drinking protein shakes for some meals will help you shed a few pounds so there's another plus from getting an implant done by Beacon OMS.

We brought our son in for care, fully explaining ahead of time that he is a child with special needs. Instead of showing any patience, understanding, or willingness to accommodate him, Dr. Sadakah refused to provide services when my son was unable to complete the X-rays. What was most concerning is that he didn't even attempt to examine my son's mouth--there was no effort to build trust, no attempt to adapt to his needs, and no alternative solutions offered. We were simply dismissed and sent away. This is especially frustrating because the clinic presents itself as a place that supports patients who may need extra patience or accommodations for children with disabilities/specials needs. Based on our experience, that was not reflected at all in how our child was treated. Families with special needs children already face significant barriers when accessing healthcare. We came in hoping for compassion and understanding, and instead left feeling dismissed. I would strongly caution other families of special needs children before coming here. This was not a supportive or accommodating environment, and it was a very discouraging experience for our family.

The dentist is great, the front office staff horrible. They did not get pain med prior to mouth…read moresurgery, I had to request, them the grandson was in terrible pain, they didn't numb enough near the end even after I told them it wears off quickly on him. Good thing I had pain .eds for him while I for his filled. He had a terrible blood blister, one front office staff kept giving misinformation or none at all. This was done Nov 2019. I had to call insurance for coverage since they could not get it right, one front office no help, had to wait to talk to back office. For it figured out, but when they billed, billed different, so it was up to me again, many calls to insurance and dental office. Working full-time while trying to get this straightened out. So fast forward to now July 27, 2020. My mother gets a call from the office, asking for me, they then leave a message for me, I am at work, work for the post office, so cannot answer the phone, they will turn me into collection unless I call by the end of the day....now I have not received one letter or one phone call prior to this and have figured this was done. I would suggest you go to his other office maybe they are better, at one point I was going to do that since his front office is soooo horrible. But Vancouver office was close to my mother's so she could take him. The only reason we went here was he was in the regence blue cross coverage. Also he was suppose to get sedative by pill, someone forgot so in order to work faster they made him drink some foul drink which he almost threw up. Great dentist if you can get past the staff, I would definitely go to his other office. Keep your little retainer thing, we discarded since staff said when it's comfortable you won't need, then he had big blood blister, painful until it popped, blood everywhere 3x. Ya put in retainer, dig out of garbage, then pad it so pressure is on blister. Dentist was great called back quickly on a holiday

I do not--and I mean DO NOT--like going to the dentist. In fact, I have such a fear of dental work…read morethat when I was told years ago that I needed all of my teeth removed, I avoided it and instead had teeth pulled one at a time whenever the pain became unbearable. So when I walked into this appointment knowing I would likely need full-mouth extractions, I was terrified. From the moment I sat down, I knew this office was different from any dental office I had ever visited. The staff's kindness and compassion immediately stood out. Patrick, the dental assistant helping with my care, was an absolute ray of sunshine. He treated me like we had been friends for years. I hadn't eaten that morning, and my blood pressure was a little concerning. Without hesitation, Patrick offered me part of his own lunch to help. Beyond that, he was one of the funniest and most genuine people I have ever met. When you're as fearful as I am, having someone who can make you laugh and feel comfortable makes all the difference. My 7-year-old daughter was with my wife and me during the visit. When she heard I was going to have surgery to remove all of my teeth, she became upset and started crying. Patrick immediately comforted her with a hug and helped calm her fears. The rest of the staff went above and beyond as well, taking her to the front desk, letting her pick out a toy, and keeping her company while I underwent my procedure. Dr. Nguyen was equally amazing. Throughout the entire procedure, she continually checked on me to make sure I was comfortable and not in pain. The team even covered me with a weighted blanket to help me feel more secure and relaxed. Every step of the way, Dr. Nguyen and her staff did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable, cared for, and supported. For someone with severe dental anxiety, this experience could not have been more positive. The compassion, professionalism, and genuine kindness shown by everyone in this office were unlike anything I have ever experienced in a dental setting. If you're nervous about going to the dentist, this is the place to go. They don't just care for your teeth--they care for you as a person.
