I had an emergency dental visit during the holidays for onset of tooth pain from wisdom teeth and I…read moreended up being referred to Beacon for wisdom teeth removal where I was seen by Dr. Lieblick. The overall experience was poor. They only provide out of network insurance coverage, which typically means an increased cost to the patient, but I was assured by Dr. Lieblick the surgery would be uncomplicated after doing X-rays and I was eager to have some pain relief and get rid of the problem. After my surgery, there was no post op check from the doctor, I was monitored by a dental assistant until my spouse picked me up. I had questions regarding the procedure, but he had already stepped into his next case so no review or discharge was given from him. One week after the surgery, I was still in extensive pain that radiated to my jaw and temple, significant swelling across my face and in the back of my throat making it difficult to swallow, and a foul taste in my mouth. Giving benefit of the doubt, I did a call consultation on a Saturday where the on call doctor, Dr. Rehrer, told me to "ride it out" because the symptoms were normal, but offered to come in if the information above persisted on Monday. I did, so they were able to squeeze me in where Dr. Rehrer took a quick look inside my mouth and told me "everything looks fine, unfortunately you have delayed healing." I came in that Monday seeking help and instead felt dismissed by the surgeon. As a first time mom who is currently nursing and having all these dental issues it has been extremely difficult and painful to eat and even swallow liquid due to swelling and Dr. Rehrer did not offer any further assistance or empathy for that matter. Still in pain, I sought a second opinion from another doctor. They told me Dr. Lieblick left an exposed root, I had dry socket, and I was started on antibiotics and even steroids for the major inflammation. With such a vast difference on the post care diagnosis - I can't help but write a poor review based on my surgery, post op care, and overall experience that left me feeling neglected as a patient. I would not recommend this office to a friend

We brought our son in for care, fully explaining ahead of time that he is a child with special needs. Instead of showing any patience, understanding, or willingness to accommodate him, Dr. Sadakah refused to provide services when my son was unable to complete the X-rays. What was most concerning is that he didn't even attempt to examine my son's mouth--there was no effort to build trust, no attempt to adapt to his needs, and no alternative solutions offered. We were simply dismissed and sent away. This is especially frustrating because the clinic presents itself as a place that supports patients who may need extra patience or accommodations for children with disabilities/specials needs. Based on our experience, that was not reflected at all in how our child was treated. Families with special needs children already face significant barriers when accessing healthcare. We came in hoping for compassion and understanding, and instead left feeling dismissed. I would strongly caution other families of special needs children before coming here. This was not a supportive or accommodating environment, and it was a very discouraging experience for our family.

I was chewing on some ice like an idiot and I cracked one of my molars. I had to have the tooth…read moreremnant extracted and a titanium implant drilled into my jaw to replace the tooth by having my dentist put a crown on the implant after the implant will be in place for a couple months. I'm from Seattle but a close friend recommended that I go to see a doctor in Portland?! With that recommendation I hopped on a greyhound bus to see Dr. Lieblick down in Gresham. Full disclosure, i'm not a great dental patient even when I have a basic cleaning every 4-6 months. I don't do well with the basic stuff let alone the thought of having a major surgery done in my mouth... After the cat-scan on my head they numbed the side of my mouth and extracted the tooth but one of the two roots didn't come out cleanly so they had to do a little drilling to remove it which I didn't feel at all although the noise was a little unpleasant. The drilling stopped after about 45 seconds then Dr. Lieblick said "we're all done". With my numb tongue and lips I mumbled "whuh bout the mimplant". He said "it's in and you are ready to go". I took 2 ibuprofen one time after the procedure and nothing in the 2 weeks since because there was no pain whatsoever after the initial soreness. from what I had heard from the two people who had dental implants in the past I expected that the procedure was going to be horrible and the pain would be excruciating for a while after the procedure. Obviously the procedure couldn't have gone any better! I guess that it pays to see a Doctor who's placed thousands of implants and not some oral surgeon hack let alone a general dentist who wants to try their hand at procedures they aren't trained to do. From the pre-surgical CT-scan of your mouth to setting a follow up appointment on the way out, based on my experience, you should expect to be in the office for under 45 minutes unless you have to be sedated for a more involved procedure like removal of all your wisdom teeth. I couldn't be more surprised that the implant placement was easier than a regular filling in my experience. The staff could have only been better if they would have given me a foot massage while I was having the procedure completed. From the greeting at the front desk to the smile on the way out it was less stressful and painless than the time my barber nicked my ear as he was cutting my hair. Seriously, if you need to have an extraction or implant then take my word that you can't do any better than Beacon Oral surgery at any of their four locations. I told my friends who'd had implants that they were whiners or they went to the wrong doc for their surgeries.... If you've been holding off because you're nervous, schedule an appointment and get your surgery done by the best doctors around Portland! I forgot to mention the worst part is that you'll want to chew food on the a different part of your mouth until you get your crown. I found that drinking protein shakes for some meals will help you shed a few pounds so there's another plus from getting an implant done by Beacon OMS.
