I've visited the office a few times now, and each time the staff has been kind and understanding about my anxiety. The first appointment was to see what needed fixing. The second was a cleaning, which went perfectly, the tech recognized my high sensitivity and adjusted the pressure while removing hard plaque. The third visit was a bit more eventful. I was scheduled to have a few cavities removed, and everything was going smoothly until I started feeling pain while the dentist worked on my left canine. Then, with tooth eleven (I think), I felt the sharpest stab of pain, it wasn't the dentist's fault, but I flinched from the shock and told them I might need more numbing. They understood but said we'd have to reschedule since there wasn't enough time to finish. I agreed, though it felt a little awkward since my previous dentist would usually block out more time for such work. One of the techs later applied either a bonding agent or acid etch, which sent another jolt of pain through my tooth. Someone even commented they hadn't started the filling yet and asked if I'd need more numbing. I declined, not wanting to take more of their time, though I appreciated their concern. Overall, it was a positive experience. It was the first time I'd had that much pain during a dental visit, but I'm not sure if it was just me that day or if the medication wore off.

They finished working on the canine, but when they started working on the tooth that wasn't numb, they said a new appointment would need to be scheduled. The appointment was scheduled, but they had to cancel it because they said verification was needed because of the medication that may interact with other medications. The medication was provided to me three times at this dental office and four times at another dental office. They didn't want to continue to work on my teeth if a verification from my primary care wasn't provided beforehand. This highly disappointed me because of the high regard I gave the dental team and it should be the responsibility of the dental office to complete a tooth that they started working on, but didn't finish. I have a lot of dental anxiety and chronic illness, and he and his team made me feel so comfortable, and were so accommodating with my disabilities. I came here for help after a horrible experience at another local dentist -- I had been in pain for months despite my former dentist continuing to gaslight me and tell nothing was wrong after she did a filling. Dr. Blair very quickly was able to see from a 3D model he took, that the filling had been done wrong, that the first dentist had left a gap at the bottom exposing the nerve and letting food get trapped underneath, where it had caused an infection. I wound up needing antibiotics. Dr. Blair found the problem in just a few minutes and he fixed it in maybe 15-20 minutes. No pain or discomfort since. After all that needless suffering because of the previous dentist. To finally have relief from the agonizing tooth pain and to be able to chew food again is life changing, especially as someone who is in chronic body pain 24/7, every bit of relief is massive help. I am so grateful to Dr. Blair and his amazing staff, including the techs and reception and billing staff. Everyone has been so wonderful and it feels so nice to finally feel confident that I am in good hands, and they care about my wellbeing. Thank you to the whole team. and especially to Dr. Blair for getting me out of pain. I appreciate you so much!

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Mountainside Dental. While the dental treatment…read moreitself seemed acceptable at the time, the office's billing and administrative practices left me feeling frustrated and misled. I paid what I was told I owed at each visit and believed my account was fully settled. Nearly two years later, I unexpectedly received a bill for charges I had never been informed about, followed by collection notices. This was both stressful and upsetting. When I contacted the office to ask for an explanation, I did not receive a clear or consistent answer. Instead of helping resolve the issue in a transparent and professional manner, I felt pressured to pay a balance that I genuinely believed I did not owe. Patients should never have to worry about surprise bills years after receiving treatment. A dental office should provide accurate estimates, timely communication, and honest billing practices. In my experience, those expectations were not met. The lack of transparency has caused me to lose confidence in this practice. I encourage anyone considering this office to carefully review every bill, keep copies of all receipts and insurance documents, and ask for written confirmation of any balance before leaving. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office and will not return for future dental care.

When I requested documentation of my $0 balance and account history, the office staff initially asked me to remove my review before even addressing my request. I found this very unprofessional, and it reinforced my concerns about transparency at this office. I informed them that providing documentation is required by law, and I finally received the appropriate paperwork. The situation should never have escalated to this point.
