I read tarot at Simply Ashland on most Mondays and Tuesdays and always order my daily meal from here when I do. I love how chill the waitstaff are. They are attentive but not obnoxious. The bottled/canned drink options are set up in coolers to help you visual shoppers, and the kitchen is open for you nosy diners. THEY SERVE ESPRESSO. Absolutely delicious breakfast! We sat outside and it was beautiful with the creek running beside. My husband had the fancy taters and I had Ashlanditan Omlette with roasted potatoes. Oth of our dishes were fantastic! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Some of the best I've ever had. We each also had a lemon poppy seed scone. Oregon is a green state, but Ashland is an insanely green city. There are so many good choices to eat delicious food that is local, organic, hormone and anti-biotic free. You almost start to take it for granted. Greenleaf is another example of a great Ashland place that's been around 20+ years. Friendly, healthy and a good dose of humor with the service. There are even comical instructions in the bathroom about how to properly wash your hands. (I personally use the Happy Birthday trick with my kids - sing it two times while you soap up). My last two visits were for a quick lunch before a matinee at OSF. Both times I've been seated in the back enclosed patio with the warm pumpkin colored walls. When the weather is warm, they also have outdoor patio seating along the creek. They usually have 4 or 5 soup choices and I always get the Chicken Muligatawny and a 1/2 sandwich. This time I ordered the Hummus Sandwich (House-made of course) and it was delicious. I always get the impression they do a large take-out business here. So if the weather is nice, you should grab some food from Greenleaf and enjoy your meal in Lithia Park, since it is only one block away. read more

When the wait was too long at our usual favorite Ashland breakfast place we decided to give this place a try, and glad we did. I was thrilled when they offered a separate gluten-free menu and agreeably swap out the ham for avocado on my breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was so fresh and 'clean', not over buttered like often happens and the side of fresh fruit tasted and looked like it had all been cut up that morning. She explained that she was upset because not only had they made us wait an hour, but also because they gave preferential treatment to a table (larger than our party) that arrived significantly later than us.
