I visited this salon for the first time last Thursday. I wanted a shellac manicure and was impressed by the very nice presentation of the salon. Nicely decorated and clean.
I was surprised to find that a manicure here entails pushing your cuticles back without soaking your hands in warm water first (OUCH). My cuticles and hang nail areas were never trimmed. The shellac polish was not applied in a way that covered the entire nail, even though I pointed it out to the woman numerous times that it wasn't covering the nail. It looked like crap. The hand massage included a brief application of scrub to wash off and a very quick and rough lotion massage. And an equally as rough neck, back and arm massage.. too aggressive at an unsupported upright sitting position. I left confused as to what I just paid $40 for (mani is normally $35, but they offer a 10% discount if you pay with cash, which I did and still tipped mind you).
The warm rice bag on your shoulders is nice. The overall experience was NOT relaxing or pleasant at all.
Additionally... my polish peeled within four days. So, I went back the salon today and addressed the issues I had with the original service, and shared that I hadn't planned on returning, but the state of my polish warranted attention or a refund so that I could have them done correctly elsewhere. I received a less than apologetic response and was eventually offered a free re-do of all my nails (which started out a redo of only the ones that peeled, as if that is good customer service, really?). The woman I spoke to asked me if I was just there to complain or I wanted them to do something? OMG.. who are you people?
My second mani was equally as uncomfortable and left my cuticles bleeding bc once again they were pushed back dry and then FILED while shaping my nails (OWE). My nails were painted correctly this time around, BUT my cuticles were pushed back AGAIN after the shellac was applied and my cuticles trimmed AFTER shellac was applied. I have NEVER had a mani like this.. anywhere!!!
And they re-use the foils to remove your shellac polish. YUCK!
DO NOT GO HERE.... There are many other wonderful, pampering salons in Parker that charge the same or less and you wont leave wondering what just happened, when you fingers will stop throbbing.
My suggestion.. MAGIC NAILS ON LINCOLN! Wonderful staff, never less than awesome service every time.. they are always busy for a reason. read more
