Busy Saturday morning brunch hour so burned some time walking in Poulsbo. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Lots of options for jam/jelly, hot sauces, and other condiments. Very much a diner vibe and fun place to bring friends and family visiting the area!

The food was amazing, service was speedy, and the ambience was total diner vibe. We enjoyed our food and our time at the free light diner

Love the decor in this place. The BBQ bacon cheeseburger was excellent!! The server was very friendly.

The service was absolutely impeccable. And the food was completely to die for. The omelettes were massive, flavorful, and rich. The hashbrowns were so crispy it almost made me weep. It's classy and fun and lovely. First time going, plan to come back often.

Their menu is what brought us here. They have multiple options for breakfast sides, and that's what got me excited. I ordered the Mediterranean eggs with their steel cut oatmeal, plus toast. I enjoyed it. My man ordered scrambled eggs with pancakes. His pancakes were nice and chewy, but he loved the sausage links they served. They serve big mugs of coffee, which felt cozy to sip from. Service was fine after we were seated. They have an awkward entrance up the stairs (not the ramp doorway) and a bar at the front, but no one working in the front to greet guests so we stood there for a good while before the young lady noticed us standing there. We grabbed breakfast on a Monday morning at around 9:45 a.m., and no one paid attention to us waiting by their sign that said "wait to be seated." Cute retro diner themed restaurant.

A must stop if you're in town during Breakfast hours! Delicious food at a good value and exactly what you'd expect. The environment is good old American vibes as well. The staff is courteous and give off the vibe that they're all happy to be there! Would recommend!

faithful 50's diner but booths springs are saggy - collapsed -lack of upkeep -sitting height too low for tables - customer experience?

Earnest, eager staff. Need more training. Place seems a bit tired. Menu good with lots of comfort foods yet the food product sourcing is middling quality and kitchen team doesn't seem to have great skill or consistency.

Not greeted just seated, we felt uncomfortable sitting in the middle of the restaurant floor so the MANAGER (she helped us the whole time) sat us all the way in the back. My fiancé and I waited 10min for sodas when she was talking our orders, she was going to SKIP my fiancé ALL TOGETHER until he said "oh i will be ordering as well." The food was mediocre. My eggs were supposed to be over easy and were waaaay to runny and his were RAW! When I let her know she said they would "fire it again" but given the treatment we have been shown I decided to ask for the check. This place has a CERTAIN demographic they cater to and NEVER AGAIN will we go.

I was eager to return to this establishment, since I haven't been here in a few years. Regrettably, today's visit was a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be good again? THE ROSES: TMD is a restaurant I dearly want to like a lot more than I do right now. For those who are retro fans, the dining space, which is an impeccably restored authentic diner, is a real treat. Restrooms are clean. The staff, while sometimes rather confused, tries hard and is pleasant. THE THORNS: It's the food, stupid. This establishment, which used to serve authentic diner cuisine now seems to be excessively 'interpreting' dishes, and they're too derivative for their own good. The most egregious example was the Chicken Fried Steak, which was battered and fried *chicken* smothered in sausage gravy. Note to the owners/chefs: they call it Chicken Fried STEAK for a reason. I ordered the biscuits and gravy instead, which was uninspired. The sausage gravy itself was quite good, but the biscuits, which they boast about, were dry and hard. I get better out of a tube of Pillsbury 'Grands' buttermilk biscuits from the grocery store. My wife's Joe's Special was also a disappointment: the chunks of overdone ground beef appear to have been diced of bits of Sysco hamburger patties, and the dish was assembled with indifference. The tomatoes were uniquely flavorless, and the whole dish was rather under seasoned. On top of it all, a request for ketchup (which should always be at the table in a diner) was forgotten, and I was still billed for the more expensive CFS rather than the Biscuits and Gravy I ended up getting. Also sorely missed were the Bloody Marys. These were a highlight. Did they decide not to renew their liquor license? THE VERDICT: All in all, a once stellar homage to diners has slid into overpriced mediocrity. The building is the same, but the soul is gone. If you want a true diner experience, I suggest you ride the ferry over to Seattle and visit either Voula's (U District) of The Chelan Cafe (West Seattle). The Madison Diner is a DINO (Diner In Name Only). Neither recommend nor discourage. Your results may vary.

The service was great. The women who took care of us treated us like family. I had an oyster Po Boy, my wife had the French dip, and kids shared a chicken strip basket. All the food was fresh, hot, and crispy! The pie. I was not disappointed! We grabbed a coconut cream pie, which we love, and they gave it to us for free because it wasn't the normal slice size they offer, which is huge by the way. We also got the strawberry rhubarb, which was divine. The crust is to die for. The perfect texture and perfectly salted crust paired perfectly with the large scoop of vanilla ice cream. A True 1950s Diner Experience! Highly Recommended!…read more We visited the Red Apple Diner in Bremerton with our after-wedding party of 13 people for brunch, and it exceeded our expectations. Despite our large group, they accommodated everyone comfortably and provided outstanding service from start to finish. The diner completely embraces the classic 1950s era. From the décor and booths to the music and nostalgic atmosphere, it truly feels like you've stepped back in time. The restaurant was also exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly, attentive, and impressively efficient. They handled our large group's orders with ease, kept drinks refilled, and delivered everyone's meals quickly. Our table ordered a variety of dishes including bacon and eggs, sausage and eggs, Oregon French toast, chicken and waffles, and a Reuben sandwich. Every meal looked fantastic, the portions were generous, and everything was cooked perfectly. The standout for us was the French Toast, which was easily some of the best French toast we've ever had at any diner. The chicken and waffles were excellent, and the Reuben was packed with flavor. The cheeseburger was juicy and delicious (although I personally would have skipped the grilled onions). One unique surprise was the recommended potato chip fries that came with the burger. They were thick cut, freshly made, and unlike any chips I've had before, dense chip shaped fries without being overly hard. Prices were very reasonable, with most meals around $20 or less, making it an excellent value for the quality and generous portions. Overall, the Red Apple Diner delivered fantastic food, outstanding service, a fun nostalgic atmosphere, and a memorable experience. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in the Bremerton area. Five stars, two big thumbs up, and highly recommended!
