Wow! I went to another restaurant in Port Orchard and they literally ignored me so, i saw this place in yelp and thought, why not! Holy Moly!! I was greeted by everybody who worked there. Everyone was very gracious! This is an amazing place! I got the bacon cheese burger and it was HUGE! Truly you would have to order a double or triple in most places to match the size of this burger. It was ginormous!! Small problem they forgot the bacon... this was not a deal breaker for me. I told the waitress at the end that i thought i ordered a bacon burger and the bill did show i did.... She was very nice and took a bit off my bill. This burger was amazing! The fries crispy and yummy! I really liked everything about this place. I'd love to rate the food, but unfortunately the service was so poor we walked out before we even got a glass of water. We came in and stood at the front for a couple of minutes without even being acknowledged. When we finally did get acknowledged, we got seated quickly and were given menus but that's it. The person that seated us said he would be right back with water. In the meantime, we cleaned salt off of the table and perused the menu. 12 minutes later, we still had not received water and had not received any further acknowledgment from any server. They were way more concerned with clearing tables and talking to people who were seated after us. They made it very clear they did not want our business, so we left. We definitely won't give them a second chance, there is no reason for customers to be completely ignored. read more

Tried out Rustica Grille the other evening. My wife had the fettuccini Alfredo and I had the fish and chips, both came with a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar had a nice selection of toppings that all looked fresh, no wilted browned at the edge bagged salad. There were two different greens mixes, I chose the one with spinach. I had the blue cheese dressing that was nice with chunks of blue cheese. The fish and chips came out and I want to say perfectly cooked, nice golden brown all over. The fish was obviously hand cut and battered, although the pieces were about the same weight each, they were not exactly the same shape like freezer fish and chips that you may find at a chain or diner. The beer batter had a crisp texture and formed a nice thin coating on the fish. I had no problem finding the fish in the batter. The fish was perfectly cooked, if flaked and was moist, not over done. The frys were good, but I prefer ones made with plain potatoes. These had a some sort of coating, which seems to be popular at the moment. Anyway, they were crispy and tender on the inside. My wife said her food was nice, I didn't try it, but it looked good with the chicken and broccoli. The broccoli was bright green showing it was cooked to order not languishing a pot of boiling water. The wait staff was quick and attentive. There was a restaurant at this location previously and Rustica Grille stepped up the decor and seating from the previous operators. My only real complaint was the price of drinks. When a cocktail essentially doubles the price of the meal, I doesn't encourage me to hang out and spend more on appetizers and dessert along with additional drinks. The food was good but a little heavy on the mustard on their sandwich. Also it wasn't really a restaurant but an area within a small mall in a big building. Way too informal there was no ambiance and sense of being in a real restaurant but just some tables in the middle of a big building. Food was great! I got the Wagyu Sliders and my wife got the bacon cheese burger, they had a special for a mimosa flight, which were all delicious, Pineapple, Orange, Cranberry, and I think pomegranate. The cranberry and pomegranate could have used a little more flavor, but still good. Both had the perfect sear and flavor. We were just shopping at the bookstore and smelt good food so decided to try it. Staff were very friendly, welcoming, and overall great service. Went in for breakfast on a busy Sat morning, when the Port Orchard farmers market was opening for the season. Overall, great service. Food was mixed. My California dreamin' omelette tasted great but the home style potatoes were plain and unseasoned. My toast took forever to come out, was toasted but cold when it arrived with a packet of butter on the side. It was also white bread, not sourdough like I ordered. My partner ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs, which he said wasn't seasoned well, biscuit was dry, and his potatoes also had no flavor or seasoning. Chairs are uncomfortable to sit on. They had heaters on so it was a little warm. $50 total for our meal including coffee and orange juice. read more

On top of middlingly average and overpriced food, the managers are devolving into a bitter divorce with domestic violence charges (again), and the lawsuit surrounding the failed daycare expansion and state grant money they are trying to pocket, they're less consistently paying their daycare and restaurant employees. Checks bounce, employees work without pay, or get paid off the record. Don't expect any of their businesses to remain in operation indefinitely. read more

I have been here a few times and found the food to be excellent, except for the dinner rolls which are too dry. The sautéed veggies are cooked just right. The halibut was wonderful. The wings were perfect (crispy but not dry). The buffalo meatloaf and mashed potatoes were fantastic. My concern is that their menu is shrinking fast. 2 of the 3 dishes I liked so much are no longer available (halibut and wings). read more

We gave this place two tries and were disappointed both times. The salad bar is very limited, mostly wedge-style lettuce, no onions, and overpriced for what you get. Our food came out cold each visit, which is especially unacceptable for fish. The burgers and onion rings also had a noticeable aftertaste, almost like fish. Service didn't help the experience. Staff stood around chatting while we had to get up multiple times for basic items like a spoon, tartar sauce, and to-go boxes. Our waitress seemed unhappy from the start and never once smiled, despite us being friendly. One of the kids was excited to order the kids' steak, but it was as expected, tiny, but overcooked and tough, completely inedible. I had to ask for a steak knif to cut it up. When another waitress asked how it was, he (6 years old) said he couldn't eat it. Kids are honest. The manager doesn't seem to care for suggestions as he doesn't respond to any. There's no menu online and many have asked for this. The menu did change from the first and second time we visited. They took halibut off the menu so when I asked for that again the waitress very shortly told me this is our new menu it's no longer on it. I ordered the cod instead and while it was okay, it was served cold. Overall, not a place we'll be returning to. read more

Well we were looking forward to trying this new restaurant and we did tonight. 4 of us went and we were all disappointed. Food was mediocre at best. Cold rolls, lukewarm onion rings, ribeye for $42 wasn't very good, no veggie options, wife's sirloin was dry, another steak salad was grizzly, all in all not very good. Ambiance is non existent. We had been looking at the reviews of this restaurant and were hesitant to give it a try because a 3 1/2 star average isn't great. But, new places can have a learning curve so we decided go last evening. to see if the reviews were wrong. Our first thought was that the menu was very close to the Blue Goose just down the street. That seemed a bit odd but oh well. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari. The breading was a bit heavier than we would prefer but it was crisp and the calamari was not overcooked. It was, however, VERY salty. Now we like things to be salted but this was more than we could handle. About 4 bites in and it was too much. For entrees, we ordered the wagyu sliders and the pastrami sandwich. We were hesitant to order the pastrami because the menu said it was on sourdough but it showed up on rye (so much better on rye) - this sandwich was really good. The tangy mustard paired nicely with the richness of the pastrami and swiss. But then there were the sliders. I asked our server that if I ordered them med rare would they be cooked that way. Our server smiled and said yes. When they arrived and I took a bite, I felt pretty bad for the cow that gave up its life in order to have its meat treated so badly. These sliders were very well done - like hockey pucks. They were dry because of it. The coleslaw on top was as good as any store bought flavorless coleslaw. The fries (on both plates) were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and if they were even remotely close to hot, I'd say they were perfect. But they were room temperature. I thought about saying something to our server but after she asked if everything was ok and my response was to hesitate and then say "good enough", she smiled and walked away. I knew that it wouldn't do any good and didn't have time to have the food re-made. The restaurant business is tough and not having good food will kill a business in a hurry. Small business owners should be vested in the success by stopping by all the tables and chatting with the customers or the chef or the manager. But that obviously doesn't happen here. If it weren't for the pastrami sandwich, I would have given this place 2 stars instead of 3 and that would have just been because the staff was friendly. With the Blue Goose just down the street - very similar menu and way better food, why would we return here? read more

We were seated quickly and served water. The menu was mainly burgers and fries along with fish and chips. The food was delivered quickly and hot. The fish and chips were delicious the Cole slaw was not my favorite! The ambiance was that of a food court. The service was excellent and staff friendly. I ate there recently. The fish and chips were just terrific! The prices seem about right. Servers were on the ball and answered all Qs. The menu is one page (lunch items) and that tells me the restaurant isn't trying to cover hundreds of different dishes. Give it a try...especially if you are a fish and chips fan. read more

We were very excited to try this new "steakhouse" in Port Orchard as there are no other viable options. Busy when we arrived and were greeted by friendly staff. So far so good. Things went rapidly downhill. We decided to do salad bar as the price for a wedge was $17. A bit steep. Salad bar small but seemed fresh. Out of one of two dressings offered. Notified staff and hubby waited for new batch. Never came so he walked away. Three or more ladies available, too busy chatting to handle it. Dinner finally arrived after very long wait. Rib eye he ordered was as thin as a pancake for $42. Shocked. My tenderloin was stringy when I got to second half. Baked potato had one small tsp of sour cream, no chives and very little cheese I paid extra for. The waitress was very nice and handled the lack of dressing at salad bar while I guess the other three ladies chatted on. Saw a young gal behind the staff area wandering around in street clothes. Not very appetizing. And I mean street clothes....not looking very clean. I was so disappointed and sad. Could have been a great place but oh well. I was told the owners had a few other businesses and really wanted this to work. My advice to them would be hands on until the ship has a steady hand. It's a mess staff wise. Over staffed in some areas and under staffed in others. I give it 6 months and my guy said I'm too generous. Hope they can hang on it's a tough market. We won't be back unfortunately. Went here for the first time today. My boyfriend and I got the soup and salad bar. My boyfriend's son got the chicken Alfredo. The chicken Alfredo looked amazing, but the chicken literally had no seasoning on it at all, and the Alfredo sauce was average. The clam chowder had a really weird sour taste to it.. either the scorched it and tried to fix it, or they cooked it with wine and didn't cook all of the wine down. It's a pretty pricy menu, so I would have excepted the food to be better for the price. Maybe they need new recipes or a different cook ? Idk it's only been opened a couple of weeks, and I'm down to give it one more try. However, if it is only average when we go again, we won't go back. My husband and I went to Rustica Grille for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was empty when we got there and we got seated right away. I ordered the California Benedict and my husband ordered the ham steak. Both meals came quickly and the proportions were perfect. Both meals came with a ton of home fries and my husband's ham still had the bone in and looked delicious. My Benedict was so yummy. The bacon was cooked well and the eggs were perfectly poached. The English muffins were toasted just right so they could be easily cut but weren't falling apart. The best was the hollandaise sauce - there was a lot on the plate and it tasted wonderful. I hate when places put just a small amount of sauce on the Benedict but with this breakfast there was enough for the entire plate including enough to run the home fries through. It was extremely delicious. I loved every bite. I couldn't finish everything and left breakfast happily full. Thank you!! read more

stopped in for lunch. The first thing I noticed was how uncomfortable the chairs were. This place was always quite a sterile atmosphere and hasn't improved much. Once again, as is always the case in Port Orchard, there is no need to look at the menu. Every single restaurant has virtually identical offerings: various iterations of hamburgers, a chicken burger, a BLT, a "pulled" pork sandwich, fish n chips....with fries. A couple of the usual salad offerings. I ordered the fish n chips, which was advertised as having cole slaw...mine came without. Our waitress did bring the coleslaw after I asked. It was dry and bland...absolutely tasteless. I felt like they weren't even trying. I would suggest they simply delete it altogether until someone comes up with a better recipe.... read more

I saw the write up on the Grille and that saw they are local and had a rough time with County and paperwork. So we went to show our support. The waitress was new, of course with the menu items but was friendly and took our order and came back right away with our adult beverages. Dinner came with the salad bar so the long wait time for the food didn't seem too bad. The chicken alfredo was tasty but a bit on the cool side but all in all not bad. We decided to give it another try for breakfast on Sunday. It took 15+ minutes to have the waitress come by for our order. That would not have been too much if not for the 8 waitstaff milling around the front area staring us down and not one coming over. That was very uncomfortable and odd. There was 5 tables seated, eating or waiting for their food, so it was not too busy. After ordering and waiting at least 30 more minutes, our waitress came by and told us our order would be up in a few minutes. Within another 5 minutes she came back to ask if I wanted something else to eat because they had ran out of spinach for the omelet I ordered. I asked her why she would say our food was almost ready and then announce they hadn't even started it to which she just apologized and we told her we were leaving. I understand that this is a new place with new staff, and we were so excited for a new place in Port Orchard because we need them. I hope in time things will improve. The managers need to work with the staff maybe not have 8 when 3 would do. Maybe have them helping in the kitchen which seems to be needing the assistance and do not let them stand staring at the customers just wanting to eat without being in a fishbowl. Location is difficult no signage front or back of the restaurant. It's located at what used to be a burger joint adjacent to a parking lot where you park the Marino Car Owners. It's clean inside as it's bright lit well only about seven or eight tables. The menu is small and the prices are adequate for the area. Well the main problems I noticed is they had three bus boys, five waitresses and a hostess while we were there. I watched people get up and walk out and didn't understand why they were walking out until we had to wait 55 minutes to get our meal and when it came out, it was cold. I forgot the pancake for my friend Stuart, who was eating with us never came back to check if we needed coffee the table and back of us they were waiting an hour and they left they're using a cloth napkins, which is gotta put them out of business. You never use cloth napkins for breakfast. I don't know if they have a dinner menu their lunch menu was OK but if they don't improve their service, I believe they won't be in business very long. read more
