They came that day, and let me tell you I should have just bought a brunch of swifters from target and a had the drunk on the street do the job and saved the money. I am so happy that we chose to go with Green Environment Cleaning Corp!!! We just bought a house and we hired GECC to do a post construction cleaning, the house was filthy .... Especially the bathrooms and windows! Jack's fantastic crew left the house spotless and smelling good. Jack was very accommodating with the schedule and did everything he could to make the time we requested work, and in the end he did make it work. Definitely more expensive than other companies and worth it if you want a "green" cleaning I guess. These guys were totally amazing. Jack was super responsive and flexible. I needed a deep cleaning over several days after a gut renovation on our house left everything possible corner covered in fine plaster and wood dust. Jack's team of ferocious ladies came in and got the job done - lots of elbow grease and going over every spot over and over till the tenacious dust was removed. GEC is a great option in the City for a thorough cleaning. Jack is very personable and will come out on short notice to meet you and assess the needs of the job. His crew came on time and were thorough and very courteous. Don't expect lots of equipment, but microfiber and elbow grease can go along way. I needed a cleaning crew to come in after light drywall work on about a 1200 sq ft apartment on very short notice due to having difficulty in finding a cleaning crew for the week the work was completed. The manager Jay got back to me promptly and was able to fit me in with a days notice a day before my movers were scheduled to do their job. Shaner and Jackie showed up for a 10 am appointment at 10:01 am which was a nice initial impression. They listened when I asked them to focus on areas that I wanted to prioritize. They were great and finished the job within the allocated time window. I think the whole crew including Jay could have been more prepared to have the hepa vacuum when the job was supposed to start at 10 am, but 15 minutes later the vacuum was delivered and they did not count the extra 15 mins of waiting time in the job window. Which I thought was very fair. After the job was done I got to do a walk through and was impressed and very happy with the result! I have frequently been disappointed when hiring someone to do a job like this, but it was not the case this time. The significant amounts of drywall dust is completely gone and we can complete our move on time. Highly recommended! read more

Amazing service! I researched many cleaning companies on Yelp and lucked out on having chosen this one. I needed to have apt cleaned in prep for July 4th party and Jack arranged it for the day after my call. 2 bedroom, 2 bath with sliding doors onto terraces and the sliding doors, microwave, bathroom tiles were scrubbed to look like new and even with the sheets changed, the job took all of 2 1/2 hrs. Our experience with Green Environment Cleaning was excellent. We renovated 3 floors of a 5-story brownstone; at the end of the project there was the usual amount of post-construction dust on the renovated floors; despite the contractor's best efforts, there was also a great deal of dust throughout the furnished floors that hadn't been renovated. Jack's team of three did a superb job. They listened to our instructions about what to focus on, and what not, and then proceeded to work extremely hard and thoroughly for many hours. Walls, moldings, furniture - nothing was missed, including the underside of a platform bed that I'd thought was flush to the floor but turns out to have been collecting dust for 15 years. It would have been easy for a cleaning person to pass it by, knowingly or unknowingly, but I found Jack's team leader standing amid the slats, mattress off to the side, vacuuming and plucking items that had ended up stuck under the slats, determined to leave it spotless. For that and much more, we are very glad to have found GEC and have scheduled another visit to clean up after subsequent work. Renovation of an old home is never really over, but a great cleaning service can make it much easier to bear. read more

I asked for a post construction cleaning for two rooms. Jack said they would need a special vacuum cleaner and it would cost more. $189 for one hour and $49 more for a half hour. The woman who came did not have a vacuum cleaner. She said that because she took public transportation, she could not carry the vacuum on the train. I called Jack who said there was a mixup. He said they had not sent the vacuum because somehow they overlooked the need for the special vacuum cleaner, even though I was told it would cost more because of the vacuum cleaner. His story did not match hers. He said they would bring a vacuum cleaner. My schedule was disrupted as they could not do the cleaning without vacuum. Vacuum arrived about 2 and a half hours later. It was a miniature vacuum, Hepa filtered, and with hardly any suction! The woman who came asked for the money upfront, and did not answer my questions honestly. Jack was also dishonest. I will never do business with this company again, and would not recommend anyone else do business with them either. read more

Green Environment was a lifesaver. We recently finished a kitchen and bath renovation in our apartment. The reno was way behind schedule and we were frantic because we're expecting a baby and needed to move into a clean apt. ASAP. Our place was completely covered with renovation dust and grime -- we hadn't lived there in 8 weeks -- and there were boxes and bags of our stuff everywhere. We called GEC based on Yelp reviews and Jack Thompson, the general manager, came out within a day to give us an estimate. We scheduled the cleaning for 3 days after that. Three agents were assigned to our place and they showed up on time (early, actually) and spent 4 hours cleaning the place top to bottom. They did an excellent job. I came in that night and the thick musty smell was gone, the surfaces were clean, everything was in order, nothing had been broken or moved to a weird place, and Jack's cost and time estimate was accurate. Also: we were not met with that harsh disinfectant smell; true to their name, they used only green products so the place did not smell like a chemical factory.
