Terrible experience. I requested a deep cleaning for move-out, and they sent one cleaner without any cleaning tools. She showed up with a sponge and a cleaning bottle, took 4 hours (instead of 2), and couldn't even complete the work. The place was only partially cleaned. She wore her outside shoes inside the house, only swept the floor, and left footprints everywhere. They charged my credit card without sending me an invoice to approve first, and have yet to respond to my emails/messages. The quality of service was so low that I needed to hire another cleaning service. read more

I have gotten 3 different people when they were a show up. Didn't get cleaners for a few months. Kept cancelling. I wanted to leave them also but they won't let me and keep charging me. Was a little hard to get in touch. Prompted by them, I scheduled a visit to get an accurate quote, but no one came. Manager was quick to help resolve/remedy the situation by getting me in touch with the lady who initially was scheduled to visit. I was given a quote over the phone instead and shared instructions to clean the windows and empty shelves as a priority. We gave them 3 hours. I was sad that while I had to go into a room to begin working, the workers left without finishing thoroughly. I found a notable part of the shelves pretty dusty when I discovered it covering our newly washed clothes when we started to place our items into the shelves. I had to rewash my clothes and reclean the shelves again for another hour or two, and the paper towels were pretty dusty. Workers were prompt as far as time of actual cleaning and were polite. I don't know if thoroughness and completion of the job is a strength. read more

Thank you, CwM, the work your team conducted at our elder's apartment. The kitchen had been neglected for some time and needed a deep cleaning. This was made even worse due to a recent and persistent roach infestation that had only recently been eradicated. Your team cleaned all of her old wood kitchen cabinets (inside and out), the stove and oven, the walls, the countertops and the floor. It did not go unnoticed that they had carefully removed and replaced all of the dishes, cutlery, pots and food items stored in the cabinets in order to clean them properly. Your team also did a great job on cleaning all of the metal window frames and sills throughout the apartment. These had collected a lot of dust and grimey dirt over the years and needed some special attention. The difference was astonishing! Between the windows and the kitchen work, it actually feels like the air quality in the apartment has changed for the better. Talking to Tom is a pleasure, it's very easy to schedule with this company. Tom's estimates are spot on as well - this is a big positive when compared to other company's who may bait and switch on the time/cost. As for the cleaners, they're always prompt, professional, and easy to talk to and get along with. I just provide basic cleaning supplies and they have their own stuff as well. What is also important during this COVID time, the cleaners remain masked (as do we) and we stay out of each other's ways without issue. A small startup cleaning company with competitive prices, fantastic work ethic, concern over the environmental footprint as well as giving me the opportunity to work with a company that employs 50% of it's technicians, who happen to be persons with disabilities. I had the team of Yolanda and Nancy arrive at 1pm for 4 hours of cleaning at a rate of 142.77, with tax. Once these two dynamos showed up, I had to get out of their way as they stripped the bed, flipped couch cushions, vacuumed and dusted every square inch of my furnishings, polished wiped and buffed the entire surface of my apartment. They were done super fast and had extra time so ... of course they did my windows. Flipped down, sprayed with glass cleaner, left shining, snapped back into place. What made it prime for me is that I didn't have to kennel my animals (two cats, Bonnie and Clyde), as these ladies were happy to clean around my kitties. I took a picture of my bed to showcase how nicely it was made, fresh linens, fluffed pillows, hospital corners and organized every item, hotel style and even left me a card and a chocolate when they were done. I gave the ladies my keys (which are kept in a safe at headquarters at Jay Street) and am having services every 3 weeks for 3 hours at a rate of $107 (tax included). I love that, every third Thursday, I'm coming home to a clean apartment! They'll get there after 9:30am, clean for 3 hours, and leave my apartment zestfully clean. Wheeee! read more

BEWARE!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. HEED MY WARNING! These people are atrocious horrors. They came to clean and sent two women. One was on time and very kind. The other was 45 minutes late, had a horrible attitude and played her walkman at the loudest possible volume scaring my puppy. After I asked her to please lower the volume she refused and started telling me how she was allergic to my ITALIAN GREYHOUND, who has barely any fur. She fake sneezed about 65 times in a row and then proceeded to shove giant pieces of toilet paper into her nostrils. After taking about 1.5 hours to clean my bathroom, which was tiny, and already pretty clean when they came, it was obvious that they were not planning on cleaning the floors, windows, kitchen, or changing the sheets or pillowcases. The kind woman spent about an hour cleaning the inside of the dishwasher which was sparkling white to begin with, as I had scrubbed it with baking soda and white vinegar the previous week. I began to help them clean, using my own products (the company does not bring anything), paper towels, and tools. They didn't tell me to stop or that they could take care of it. I cleaned vigorously for about 45 minutes, at which point I had to go to work and was scrambling to take a shower because it's summer in NYC and I was working HARD, way harder than either of them. It was a really bad day because of how uncomfortable the situation was and I was extremely put off. The owner Tom, had seemed confused when I called to let him know what had had happened, and confirmed with me that he would send a different group of people to actually get the job done. Cut to the day they are supposed to come. My first day off work in 9 days, I wake up early to get ready for their arrival and NO ONE SHOWS. No text, no phone call, no email - NOTHING. This is unacceptable and disgusting behavior. Complete disregard for other people's time with an additional slap in the face by giving no warning or explanation. Two hours later I get a phone call from Tom saying that the trains had a problem and he doesn't know what happened to the cleaners. This is simply unacceptable behavior. Every human in NYC uses the subway every day and can access cell phone service to either text, email, or call and let someone know, that is if there even was a TWO HOUR problem with the train, which has never once happened to me in my 10 years of living in NYC. To make matters worse, Tom, began screaming at me on the phone, turning the situation around, and telling me that it was my fault his cleaners didn't do a good job because my apartment was "FILTHY". This is completely untrue and offensive. I am conscientious and make sure that my apartment is always clean and presentable; and had wanted a deep cleaning, as I have pets and am soon moving. He began screaming at me, asking if I was on drugs and telling me that he would not send anyone to come back and fix the mess they made in the first place. I have lived in NYC for 11 years and this service is by far the best. I have used about 3-5 cleaners and they have ALL been terrible in someway. Either the cleaners were under-par, the business and administration were hard to contact or canceling was always an issue. The two CWM cleaners were on time and incredibly professional. They had smiles on their faces and seemed to really enjoy their jobs which made it a really pleasant experience. I explained things in detail and they were studious and attentive throughout. Overall, they seemed to be on the same page as I was. Other cleaners in the past were too rushed, rude or hard to communicate with but these guys were great. My apartment was incredibly clean, they left no traces of even being there. My apartment smelled lovely and fresh and no detail was overlooked. After 10 years, the wonderful man who cleaned the halls of our brownstone was taken ill and we were so worried that we could not find anyone with the same degree of diligence and thoroughness. On the basis of the excellent reviews of Cleaning with Meaning, we hired them! What a delightful surprise! They sent a team (Nadia and James) who were prompt, pleasant to have in our house and absolutely splendid, meticulous cleaners. The hallways are so clean and so sparkling that a man who was working in the house said he'd have to wear sun glasses! I used this company for the first time this week. The price was just right and it was worth every penny. I have a one bedroom apartment and they cleaned it in 3 hours. Total price $96 plus tax. For this price I got two cleaners(super nice and wonderful cleaners) and all the cleaning products. My house smelled so nice and everything looked great. The nicest it looked in a long time. So nice I called my mom to come over. LOL Last but not least I gave it the white sock test. They passed!!!! socks still clean after walking on the floors. I am going to call them again. read more

I'm extremely allergic to cats and was moving into a home where the previous owner not only had several cats, but had let the place go. I hired CWM to give the place a once-over before we began our moving process, and they did an amazing job. Everything was spotless, our floors sparkled and the whole place smelled like heaven. I had high expectations because I'd heard good things but I was not expecting this. I have my own studio apt and never clean it. After a year I decided I needed to do it but didn't know where to start so I decided to give these guys a shot based on a recommendation. Mind you, I have gunk and dust built up everywhere. Not only was it all gone when they were through, but surfaces were left with this awesome shine. The best part of it though was the thoughtful detail. Cords were nicely twined up, towels were folded and placed, books and papers were straightened and stacked in their logical places, and every corner, even inconspicuous areas were reached. Had my first Cleaning with Meaning experience on Saturday, and I was amazed. Two cleaners came to my apartment and did a stunning job. They cleaned everywhere, and I mean everywhere; they cleaned under all of my furniture, moved my stove and cleaned behind it, and even dusted my radiators. I don't think my apartment has every been this clean before, and it was all for a very reasonable price. Using the company also allows you to support a good cause as it employees people with developmental disabilities. Double win! read more

Two people came and did a fine job; my apartment is mostly clean, although there was still some dirt on the floor and hair in the sink. The company markets itself as hiring mentally disabled people, but neither of the cleaners, nor their supervisor who showed up briefly to talk to them about their schedules, appeared disabled. The middle man on the phone told me it should not take them more than 3 hours. The cleaners, however, were told that they had 4 hours. I don't know if that's why they sort of seemed to hang out chatting half the time, but if I'm paying by the hour, I don't appreciate that, especially if I've been quoted a lower price to begin with. They also used a strange blue cleaning product that was very strong smelling and a bit nauseating. The cleaners seemed to take pride in their work and appeared to want to do well, but I'm going to continue to shop around. Doing business depends on trust, and there are a couple of factors here that seem a bit odd. read more
