I hate coming home to a mess. It stresses me out. But between managing a busy work schedule and trying to fit in quality time with my kid, my free-time is limited, and spending weekends doing chores like cleaning is not something I particularly want to do! So I didn't ... and surely enough, despite my efforts to try and tidy up here and there, the mess built up. At first, I didn't really notice it, but then little by little, the place became unmanageable. It got to a point where I hated going home because I felt like I was walking into pigsty and it depressed me. After trying to ignore the issue, I reached a point where I decided I needed to do something because ignoring the problem was not going to fix it; and if I wanted to change the way I felt about my messy home, I needed to either spend the time cleaning or spend some money hiring a professional to help me. I'd never hired a professional cleaning service before and practically speaking, I initially had three concerns: (1) where do I find one? (2) can I even afford it? and; (3) can I find a trustworthy company where I feel safe entrusting them with my keys to come in and clean my place while I'm not home. As for my first question, I literally didn't know where to start. Eventually, I managed to find my way to Yelp and looked up services that are near me. I'm in Edgewater and based on my location, it recommended 4 places, so I requested a quote from all 4. Express Cleaning Team was the last to respond to my query but I'm really glad they did because it solved my second concern: cost. I originally had an idea of how much I wanted to spend but after receiving quotes from the first 3 services, I was left feeling disappointed because it was WAY beyond what I wanted to budget for a weekly appointment. It turned out that ECT's rates are so reasonable and affordable, my only regret is not having looked into this much sooner. All I had to do was to fill out their booking form on their website. Once I completed their dozen or so questions, I was quoted less than $100 a week to clean my two bedroom/one bathroom apartment. Now that I knew there was a service near my home that fit my budget, the only thing I had left to determine was whether I could trust them enough to give them a copy of my keys to clean the apartment when I'm at work. I wanted to make sure, so once I got an email confirmation from Jimmy, I asked him if it were possible to meet someone from the company on a weekend when I was home. Despite being outside of their business hours, his wife Fary graciously agreed to come by on Saturday to meet me and personally clean my apartment. I mean, how amazing and awesome is that?! It was her day off, but she still nonetheless took the time to come to my home just to meet me, give me the peace of mind, and did a truly AMAZING job. I didn't stay the entire time she was there but when I came home later that night, I was left speechless. I was so stunned and grateful for the care and attention that was clearly spent because everything was perfect. Honestly, it was like every little thing was carefully put in its place and every surface was expertly cleaned. You could easily tell how much care and attention was spent making sure I came home happy. If you're reading this review, you may be interested in hiring a cleaning service but have similar concerns about actually hiring one like I did. If so, I hope this helps in your calculus for reaching a decision. The company is responsive & has good cleaning equipments, but the staff don't behave well & the company is a scam with hidden charges. They don't show all the detail pricing of their services & end up charging more for work. For example , they don't include floor or bedroom's closet room with bedroom cleaning, they don't have the right measurements to charge you for windows & they are really overpriced for bathroom deep cleaning. They charge $47.5 for each bathroom I have been getting my apartment cleaned at Manhattan for many years, & even they don't charge this much! I had an emergency for which I had to use their service, otherwise I would have never used their service. I can get much better service in the same area for the same or less price. read more

They were very friendly and immediately worked with me to figure out what our cleaning needs were -- they were flexible with the services that I'd initially booked and explained what they would be covering. Wow! This is the best cleaning I have ever had. My husband and I decided to do a one-time cleaning as life has been so busy and we didn't have time to do a deep cleaning in awhile. After researching quite a few companies, and even an ill-fated Groupon experience, we decided to go with Express Cleaning based on reviews, and the fact that they didn't charge extra for dogs, which we found quite a few companies did! All I can say is wow. As a new mom I had a hard time keeping up with cleaning the house, so we've been looking for a cleaner but had some not-so-great experiences. Lazy ppl, busy schedules, and two dogs = one messy home covered in dog hair. We were in need of cleaners to help motivate my husband and I to maintain a clean home. So over the weekend, Fary and her team came over and cleaned our home from the top to bottom. The place was spotless in 3 hours. The mold was completely gone from our showers, and the fridge looked completely new. I also loved how they re-arranged our fridge magnets- a very nice bonus for us. Maybe the only con is the slightly higher price tag and the basic service did not include laundry. But overall I felt like it was good work bc we would never clean as well as Fary's team. I booked a move-in cleaning. Fary arrived on time and took a great care of all the windows, cabinets, and corners. I made an extra request of vacuuming the baseboards and she helped me with that. Also the basement was really dusty but she didn't complain or ask for additional payment at all. At the end she spent 8 hours in the house and didn't get a chance to sit down to have lunch. I feel bad for her. Overall she is very professional and passionate about her business and tries to meet all the request. I would love to set up an recurring service with her. I just moved to Secaucus over the summer and was calling around for what felt like forever to find a good, reliable, reasonably priced housecleaner. Once I spoke with Junior at Express, I was sold. I had a few issues with my building letting the cleaning crew in, and Express was more than happy to come back the next day after i had sorted everything out. Even better, they are cleaning multiple units in the Xchange, which is where i moved. I felt comfortable with Express Cleaners because they were already familiar with the building and the staff. Now to the cleaning, wow! I was very impressed the first time they came, it was my initial cleaning since i had moved in. When i came back home from work, i was shocked! So Thanksgiving is around the corner and I have company coming and working 12 hours a day - let's just say I was ill prepared, so I contacted Express Cleaning to see if they could fit me in. I was able to book a Saturday appointment online (huge for me as I just hate to talk to people). Website is easy to use, and they give you a list of included services and an a la carte menu to add services- so there is nothing unexpected. They give you a courtesy reminder via e-mail. The crew showed up on time, and I came home to a simply spotless house that smelled clean and fresh. Junior, Fracier and Lucy did an amazing job, they were so thorough, and detailed-and polite - was thrilled. Very friendly people! Jimmy helped me booking my last minute moving in service. I initially booked another company but they cancelled on me last minute which made me panic.. Very fast response and quoted reasonable price. Their website is really good; you can request a quote, book an appt and pay electronically, etc. they even take applepay! Fary and the cleaning crew gave me a courtesy call in advance that they are about 15 mins late due to the weather condition and traffic. I mean.. a lot of people just show up 15 mins late without any notice.. The weather was really bad and they still showed up and did the awesome job. I don't even know where to begin. I called last minute yesterday asking if anyone would be able to come clean my house (my mom is sick and I am taking care of her), and I spoke to Jimmy, and he called Fary (the owner) and asked if she could do it last minute. She said yes which was so sweet considering she had an extremely full day ahead of her. Fary, along with one of her workers came right on time, and from the beginning I felt extremely comfortable with her. She is so personable and easy to talk to, and very professional. I had never had anyone come to clean our house before, so I did not know what to expect. They got to work immediately, brought all the products and equipment with them, (I did not have to supply anything) and before I knew it they were upstairs cleaning within not even 5 minutes of getting there. The house was so dusty, and the bathrooms were in bad condition (understatement), so there was definitely a lot of areas that needed to be addressed. I didn't feel judged by them even though the house was in bad shape. Every single thing that needed work was done. Everything looks SPOTLESS; even on the shower doors which haven't been cleaned in a long time. The floor is shiny, it smells incredible in the house, and everything is organized. I added a few extra items for them to do when I booked the appointment including windows, baseboards, and the oven. They all look immaculate. I am so incredibly grateful and amazed at not only the professionalism and the kindness of Fary, Jimmy, and the employee, but at the quality of the work that was done. They were here working 4 and a half hours STRAIGHT. If you need a cleaning for your home or office, run- don't walk to Express Cleaning. I 100% recommend them; you will not be disappointed.
