My old cleaner had to stop work for health reasons so I tried a corporate cleaning service for the first time today and found Homey (on Yelp) as Wizards of Homes were not taking on new clients). I made the booking online on Sunday night for a Tuesday cleaning appointment, and I had 3 Venezuelan women (they only speak Spanish) come punctually today. Luckily my dog walker popped by and was able to help translate, but tbh we would have been ok even without a translator. The 3 ladies were an excellent well oiled team who went straight to work after a very brief orientation. I have 2 dogs that shed (a lot) and the ladies made my apartment sparkling clean. They were efficient and it took 4 hours (x 3 ladies) to clean a 3 bed/ 3 bath/ 2000SF - this included mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and making 2 beds and cleaning out my vacuum cleaners at the end. Cost was $240. This included a 20% discount for signing up to having a weekly service. Tips are optional and can be paid in person or through the Homey online platform. Mariella was also very helpful on the phone and by text, and any extra instructions can be texted to her (eg if you wanted laundry folded, this could be added for an additional cost). After today's experience, I'm 100% going to use them regularly going forward. read more

We've been Homey customers for awhile, mostly for ad hoc cleanings when things got out of hand, or we are having guests, etc. Each time we've been exceptionally pleased, both with the sparkling results and meticulous attention to detail, as well as with the great communication and follow up from the Homey team. Today we were extremely happy with the cleaning at our daughter's place. She really needed the help, having a large dog who sheds and a plumber who left her bathroom a mess. The cleaner spent a good 4 hours on her small place making sure to address everything - the area rugs never looked better, furniture was spotless, and every inch of her bathroom truly shined! My long time cleaning lady recently relocated to FL to retire with her son, so i had to try a new service. Unfortunately these cleaners speak 0 English. As a non spanish speaker who lives in a small 450sq ft 1 bedroom apartment this service was unnecessarily complicated. The only person who speaks english is the lady in the office so when the cleaners are in the apt if you want to communicate with them you have to call the office for her to translate. Unfortunately some cannot read either making translation apps useless. Upon arrival they photographed every room of my home which made me slightly uncomfortable and sent the pics to the lady at the office who informed me my dining room counted as a second bedroom because of the open archway (it does not have a door). After they left I got an additional invoice for about $20 for "doing dishes". In my sink were 2 mugs, 1 teaspoon, and 1 cereal bowl. During the clean one of the ladies pointed to the sink and gave a thumbs up sign. I said ok and gave thumbs up back not realizing those 4 items cost 20 bucks to wash. Even crazier because I have a very obvious dishwasher. Why didn't she just put them in the dishwasher? The rest of the cleanings were fine, just 2 standard cleaning jobs which is what I requested though at the end of the first cleaning one of the ladies did learn how to ask for a tip in english and asked me twice. I always tip but being asked directly was off putting. Tried two time total as a bi weekly client with this company but the language barrier with all 4 cleaners and charging extra for my never used dining room as a 2nd bedroom upcharge were a deal breaker for me and I moved on. read more

I had been a customer for 5 years and now I will never use this cleaning service again. At first I had a great relationship with the first person they sent. In the last year they sent three different people to clean my apartment. The last person didn't even know which rooms to clean, no one told her. None of the 4 people seemed familiar with a dishwasher and my dishes were always dirty after the cleaning. The first 2 people told me they had never used a dishwasher so I showed them how to use it. I don't mind doing that and I don't mind speaking only Spanish since I study Spanish and enjoy languages. But when I suggest they train their people on using a dishwasher the owners insult me in a nasty way. I've been a loyal customer for 5 years! All four people they sent didn't use the dishwasher unless I explained it to them. I never had my sheets changed even once even though that is a service they provide. They just want to come do the cleaning quickly and leave. If I want to have something deep cleaned, I have to do it myself. Would not recommend. SO GOOD and surpassed all my expectations!!! We hired homey to deep clean my grandma's apartment which has not been well maintained for a number of years due to her medical issues. There was TONS of dust and grime that had built up over the years. On top of that, there was also a LOT of clutter as well as a roach issue. However, the homey team was able to take on this challenge for us and were extremely thorough, detail-oriented, and professional. They scrubbed and scoured down the kitchen, which was extremely dirty, and even got all the tiny cracks (such as between the wall and the oven). The kitchen sink was literally a different color after the cleaning and the entire kitchen is the best I have EVER seen it. The bathroom had been absolutely FILTHY and the walls were disgusting but we added on the service for cleaning walls and WOW they delivered. I have NEVER seen the bathroom walls look white before but the homey team did it!! Also they were able to work around the extreme clutter too! The team spent almost 8 hours cleaning the apartment (which is on the larger side) and was very kind and professional the whole time. I knew they were tired but they did SUCH a great job nonetheless.
